It was a nice day, but for Mpenzi, it was always a nice day. A little bit of wind or a little bit of 'bad weather', so called, never seemed to dampen her mood. She'd spent the morning with her children, nurturing their little desires and listening to what stories they had to tell her, before her mate had swept them off to play elsewhere.
Heading across the lands of the Mteo'nyungu, the Kaimu had found herself at the farthest edges of it's domain. Turning, only barely now could she see the cliff that played home to them; her pride. With a sigh, she plopped down onto her side so she could continue to stare at the structure, pondering to herself how many rogues passed by it on a regular basis and thought anything of it.
"Rather handsome.." she commented a loud, though she was rather sure that her venture out into the further edges of the land would hold no surprise visitors, though she'd been prooven wrong many a time in the past by that same thought.
However, Mpenzi wouldn't have complained about any company at that time. New faces were always welcome, and something worth speaking of to her love back home, and it'd been so long since anyone had come into the lands. How bad had the plague been? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/demon_pachabel/certmpenziadol.jpg <-- Mpenzi, in case you hadn't seen her yet. <3

She had been lying in wait long enough, they told her, the "elder" gods, just before encouraging her to return to the realm of the mortals. After seven years awaiting her rebirth, finally Kiva had been reincarnated into her new life.
Truth be told she had been back for some months now, but hadn't been prepared to return just yet. Painful memories from her previous lives still laid dormant and untouched, awaiting the time when she was ready to relive them again. Until then she needed to focus on her training, reaquainting herself with the mortal world and with her powers. She'd recently been by her people's lands and found that they were doing well. This pleased the young goddess greatly, and she deemed it alright for her to have a bit of a look around to see what else had changed in her absence.
A few backbeats of her wings and the goddess came down for a landing just on top of a conviniently placed rock formation. She didn't need her wings to actually fly, that was a part of the magic that all gods posessed, but they certainly did make the landings and the takeoffs that much easier.
She hadn't even noticed the mother lioness until she'd settled, folding her wings to her side with a smile as she surveyed the surrounding area with ameythyst eyes. Everything about the young female was happy, glad to be able to see the sights, and these lands seemed especially beautiful.

There was a pause in her actions, almost as if she hesitated looking at the land any further. Her sense of hearing had picked up a stranger, and any stranger, was far more worth seeing out here, then a place she'd seen everyday, for so long of her life. However, expecting one thing, always found a way of worming it's way into the mind of any good lion, and in turn, always could surprise one with the sight they were instead given.
And if there was a better word for surprised, it would probably be surprised at that point in time. Mpenzi had turned her attention to her surrounding area, outside of both her frontal and peripheral vision, to see what could have snuck into her presence to quietly. At most she'd expected a genet, or a small cub. Something small and fluffy and would be up in her face upon noticing them.
Instead, she found herself staring at the being whom had perched herself on the rocky formation not too far away. A lion wouldn't have been too bad of a shock to her. However, most lions that -she- knew of, didn't have wings like that, the gods, on the other hand, did. For a moment, her mind almost went to assume that it was the goddess of the shadow, Kita'mauti, one of the Mteo's patron goddesses.
But upon allowing her mind to calm, she forced her childhood teachings to remind her that the goddess of the shadows was said to look different... and older. Thinking through the other gods and goddesses she'd been taught, she couldn't tie any of them to the beautiful young enitity that had place itself before the Mteo.
She almost wanted to rise up to approach closer, but would.. that be disrespectful? Finally, she decided to stay where she was and admire from a far. If spoken to, only then would she be allowed to speak.
Beautiful little one...

Now, Kiva, on the other hand, was not expecting any particular type of creature in particular as she turned, however, she did, and upon spotting the other she suddenly looked surprised. She knew some creatures were very territorial, especially some of her fellow gods and goddesses. Perhaps she should be more careful not to chance angering any of those said gods!
"I'm sorry, have I disturbed you?" She asked in a meek, but kind voice. She turned fully to face the mortal and offered an equally kind smile.
In her youth she had never been one to act so high and mighty. Kiva only knew that it was important not to let herself be tred all over, but found that she could make many more friends if she treated others kindly, and in honesty that was how she had always been from the start anyway.

There was a strange cuteness to the response she got for staring slightly incredulously. Rising up in turn, the kaimu bowed her head out of politeness. "Of course not!" she replied, with a similar degree of meekness, with a mix of shock. Afterall, this was a first in a lifetime meeting. Where -was- Warithi, he -had- to see this!
"You're more then welcome to be whereever you wish." she then added, smiling a bit. She was so tempted to inquire the identity of the young goddess, but.. what if it was taken to be rude to inquire such a thing? It had been a while since she worried so badly over her manners.
Sitting again, the young Kaimu bowed her head to the goddess once again. "To you, I may be known as whatever you wish to call me, though my given name is Mpenzi." she then introduced, pondering if such an action was considered rushed.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mpenzi." Kiva smiled, nodding her head in a greeting. If she were human we swear she would have curtsied instead. Stepping down from her rock she took a few playful bounds towards the other, whispy tail breezing in the air. She didn't quite size up with the other lioness, was that a surprise? She was barely older than a cub, and obviously still held all the innocence of one. "I'm Kiva! I was just kind of passing through, it's been a really long time since I was here last so I kind of wondered if anything had changed."
((Question: The pride here, is it currently "resurrected", or have they always been there? smile ))

Blushing slightly at the use of her actual name, she felt a bit... honored by such, unaware of what status the goddess held among the others. With the introduction, she found herself once again trying to paste that name into the other ones she'd heard, not finding the name 'Kiva' as a name, or part of one that she was familiar with.
Perhaps she would have to inquire about it later.
"It's lovely to meet you as well." the replied, bowing her head again, the pair almost seeming to be a kind of 'mirror' of each other in mannerisms and the like. Almost.
"Has it changed much from what you can remember of it?" she inquired, shifting nervously in place, almost out of habit. "If anything has changed.." she paused for a moment "it's the lack of life here, due to a plague swiping through here."
(( From what I know, it seems as though the pride has always been there, just recently it's numbers went right downthe toilet due to the plague and they're 'recovering' in a sense. ))

Kiva smiled again, liking the shaping of this situation thus far. She seemed very friendly, more than just that too, something about her came off as very warm and kind.
"Hmm...." She deliberated, tilting her head slightly one way as she watched Mpenzi, and then Mpenzi mentioned the plague striking the pride in the lands there, and Kiva's expression changed quite dramatically. The "young" female looked saddened, and empathetic all at once. She wasn't sure why, but somehow that sounded familiar. "That's terrible... though it's good that the pride has managed to survive..."

Mpenzi smiled at the sympathetic words she received from the goddess, nodding a bit. "Yes, we're lucky." she agreed, her brain turning into a mush of warm fuzzies as she continued in a slight explanation. "It's what we get for having a wise leader with a level head to follow. Warithi is young, but.." she paused, this look of utter bliss on her face. "We all trust him. We're a family."
Attention turning off towards the cliff that the pride had loomed in front of for generations, or so it would have seemed. She did recall her father mentioning that he had lived under the protection of the formation since before he was born as well. So at least that long.
"It's sad to think I will never return home to see my parents, or my friends.. but.. I think that if everyone trusts Warithi's decision to allow rogues into our pride, and can trust for my son to follow up in his pawprints to fill them as he did, then we'll recover and become as strong as we were before."

Seperated from her family? That was horrible...! Kiva couldn't help but wonder if there was anything she could do, but she would have to know the problem first.
"Why is that? Has something happened to drive you apart...?"
Her voice was soft, almost crooned. She didn't want to upset the other by prying into personal memories, and it sounded like she still hurt from it.

She was comforted by the concern this goddess showed when she spoke of how her life had been in the recent months. For that, she couldn't help but feel safe enough to talk a little more freely of the 'hurt'.
"No. They died. They all died." she replied her tone off elsewhere in la la land, seemingly as she stared off back towards her home.
"But it's brought those of us that remain closer together. " There was a pause and another slight blush here.
"And since then, we added a few new members." she added, beaming with pride. "Warithi and I recently became the parents of a lovely little pair of twin cubs. The pair seem to bring a little bit of hope to the pride, which... I'm happy for. Elimisha seems rather drawn to my daughter even."

That caused yet another wash of sorrow to sweep over the goddess, but she forced a smile to remain in place for the other's sake. She actually sounded older than her body's age as she spoke now. "I'm sorry for your loss... though as you've already said, there is a blessing or a lesson to be learned in everything that transpires. New life is truely a blessing. Maybe if it would be alright, I'd love to meet your family sometime."

This one... acted differently then Mpenzi would have expected the goddesses to act as. She had... well.. it seemed like she felt pain over broken bonds, almost.
Smiling a bit, Mpenzi nodded. "I'd be honored to be blessed with such a meeting." she replied. "I'd have to talk to my dearest and see how he would feel about such a meeting before I can promise anything.. but yes. I would like for such a thing, Kiva."
As if now finding that she perhaps was getting a grip of this goddess, the Kaimu inquired further; "... May I ask what you are the goddess of?"

"Really??"
And then, just like "that" she was back to the friendly force of smiles and sweetness as before. Though she was right now hardly older than a cub herself, Kiva did love children! She'd been delighted to find out that the pride had the blessing of two litters in their midst-- well, one litter of three boys, and one litter with one, but a litter all the same!
"Great!"
Kiva couldn't surpress an excited giggle.
"Hm? Of course you can!" She smiled proudly now, and stood as tall as she could, puffing out her chest fur a bit in an attempt to look graceful and poised in her... cubbish form. "I'm the goddess of Unity!"

It was amusing to her out excited she got when Shabaha and Jicho got brought up into the conversation. The lioness herself had a tendancy to get that excited at the topic of her little ones as well, as long as it was a good topic, not 'your son just blew up the moon!' conversation.
The transformation back to the bundle of glee that Mpenzi preferred between the sad and happy faces she'd seen on the expression of Kiva was obvious to her, and it made her too 'puff' up, though not as much. It was actually rather adorable to see such a 'poise' from her.
"Really? It's fitting." she decided, nodding a bit. Indeed, the sort of moods that were shown flittering around the conversation agreed with it. Sad when bad things happened to seperate her from others, and happy when it came to little ones.
Most definately fitting.
