It was mid-afternoon, and Chenza didn't have anything important to do. Granted, she seldom had anything important to do, but today she was actually making note of this lack of things to do. What a boring day! But at least she wasn't hungry, or thirsty; she had hunted a while ago, and she was sitting by a watering hole, so thirst wasn't an issue.

The clay brown wild dog was bored. Very bored. But smacking the random plants around the watering hole with her tail was entertaining enough for the moment. Swish, flick, swish... It looked almost as if there was a small creature running back and forth through the reeds.

The red juve went out of tha lands, leaving his brother again. He would see Ewan again, he always did.

The youngster trotted off towards a bush, he thought he saw a rabbit and even though hunger spread through his body He didnt want to kill a poor helpless rabbit so he turned and left it.

The water seemed more appealing so he went to the watering hole, his red pelt making him stand out, maybe a little too much. He lapped up the water before even noticing the wild dog.

Red? There was a relatively new color at the watering hole! She hadn't seen anything red there since that little lion had shared some of her kill, and he had to wash his rather terrible injuries. This new little lion was completely red! What a horrible thing to happen! Why was she meeting so many defenseless little lions that were hurt? Was there something out there that was as scared of little lions as she was of big lions?

"You poor dear!" Chenza exclaimed. "How did your entire pelt get covered in blood? Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked, her face displaying a look of complete concern.

He turned and looked at the wild dog rather confused. "I am perfectly clean thank you very much." He looked really confused, no one had mistaken him to be covered in blood before, who would be this red anyway with the three shades of red to?

Chenza squinted to get a better look at the little lion. He wasn't covered in blood! Ah, that was good news. She didn't like seeing creatures hurt. "There is no need to thank me; I didn't do anything but mistake you for a bleeding creature. I'm sorry; I've never seen a red creature that wasn't covered in blood, so I assumed logically that you must be a creature covered in blood."

The wild dog frowned and stared up at a random cloud in the sky as she tried to think of something that she had forgotten. She knew she was forgetting something, but what?...Ah! "My name is Chenza," she said.

Why would he thank her? He just blinked looking really confused. "I am Nogea."

He couldnt help but wonder if his mother had ever been mistaken for being covered in blood. He hadn't found red being that strange a colour as his mother was and he had heard of the red firekins as well!

Chenza was a relatively sheltered wild dog, even given all her wanderings. She didn't know about the different kinds of lions; she just ran from the big ones and remained polite to the little ones so that they wouldn't chase her when they became the big lions.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Nogea. What brings you to this watering hole?"

"The water..." He was normally a really nice lion but he was confused at how a wild dog could be so stupid, why go to a water hole if you weren't thirsty? He was just confused, maybe a little too confused. He thought wild dogs were the intelligant dogs!

"Of course," Chenza said, shaking her head. "How silly of me. You must be thirsty, and all this talking I'm doing is keeping you from the water. Please, drink, and then we can talk," she said as she noted what appeared to be a very confused expression on the lion's face. The poor lad was probably trying to get used to his surroundings, and she was getting in the way...how unfortunate. The clay brown wild dog rested her head between her front paws and waited for Nogea to get done drinking. It was only polite.

Nogea lapped up the water, slowly. He felt strange about being with this wild dog, she seemed like she could get herself killed or something.

Once he had finally finished he looked up and licked at his paw before yawning, showing his lovely growing sharp teeth.

Chenza sat up in alarm. She didn't mind the little lions, but this one had teeth like one of the big lions. She wondered if she should be running in the opposite direction from this one, but at the same time she didn't want to leave her shade just yet.

"You're not hunting me, are you?"
PostPosted: Thu Jun 29, 2006 10:08 am

"If I was hunting you, wouldn't you be running already wth me chasing you?" He laid down licking at his front paws. He was tired, that was why he was being grumpy, it must be.

He watched her though, she was an interesting creature maybe a litle slow or stupid but interesting all the same, after all, she wasn't a lion!

"Well, I wouldn't be running away until I knew you were hunting me," Chenza said. "But if you were hunting me, you probably wouldn't be talking to me, so I suppose you're safe. Those teeth of yours worry me, though."

The wild dog took a few sips of the water before looking up at the little lion. "It's strange...I've seen so many little lions in this area, but no big lions yet. Are the lions all naturally little here, or do I just happen to keep finding the lions that are still growing?"

He nodded, she made sense this time.

"There are big lions as well. Maybe you have been naturally avoiding the big ones without realising." He thought it was possible, some lions could think that she would make a rather interesting and maybe even delicious meal but Nogea and his mothers mind. All animals were friends unless you really needed to eat.

"Naturally avoiding them?" Chenza asked. "I suppose it could be the nature of a Chenza to avoid all big lions. When I can't see them, I'd have to rely on luck. So I guess it's more luck than anything else." She truly hoped that her luck would hold in that aspect.

"Well, I suppose I'd better let you enjoy your water now; I have to get back to my pack now."
