I'm sure all of you want to know how the Zelda timeline truly progresses. I did a thorough in-depth timeline a while ago but I can't find it. sad I'll put it up here on this to-be edited post when I do.
In the meantime (and forever onwards, otherwise this forum wouldn't have much point) feel free to post your ideas on how the timeline goes, no matter how wacky or cah-hah-raizy they are. I would love to see somebody else's opinions on the in-game history of one of the greatest game series ever (alongside Mario and Metroid of course) mrgreen
Well anyway, this is how I believe the timeline to go (Twilight Princess is only a guess from images I've seen). I'll add in a bit of an explanation later. Well here it is:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
2. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
5. The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
6. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
7. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
8. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
9. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
10. The Legend of Zelda
11. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
That's it. If you don't like it well screw you talk2hand , heh, just kidding. Feel free to converse about your opinions. mrgreen And please note that I'm not including the games that aren't part of the storyline: The Zelda Game and Watch, The "Four Swords" series and "The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets" a.k.a. "BS Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban"

last time I played the zelda for nintendo..well I was around 6 I know I loved the game but I can't remember much about it..I remember that I thought link was zelda...hey...they game was named zelda and I was using link.......I was young! xd

I can only tell the timeline as I experienced the joy of playing Zelda, but that is for another thread at another time...

I was just looking at this and saw only 2 or 3 posts that were about the LoZ timeline. The rest was about confusing Zelda with Link. It was a fair mistake, though.

I agree a real timeline would be way to hard and confusing a personal timeline is a better way to go 3nodding for me it was...umm...wait... eek ...I can't remember..I was too young but I know that I played Majora's mask, A link to the past, Oracle of ages, Oracle of seaons, all after OoT ^.^.. and all the older zelda games for nintendo and super nintendo can't remember which one befor all those ones ^^''

Okies, my history with Zelda goes back to when I was three or four; my mom played the original LoZ and I watched...
My next memory of Zelda is watching my mom play OoT; then, I played it 'cuz I was bored and I got hooked; later, I played Majora's Mask and loved it...
After that, the rest is history...
I played the games as soon as they came out and beat most of them...

I played the games as soon as they came out and beat most of them... Holy Crap, your mum played Zelda?!? My mum's completely hopeless at every single game that exists. The only game apart from various solitaire variations that she's ever been the slightest bit good at was Super Mario 1.

Ok, i dont have any proof on what the timeline is, but from what i've seen on the games, this is what ive surmised (this is only from OoT onwards, i havnt played the games before that yet)
OoT came after all the first games (obviously) Which we're all based in Hyrule, OoT was the first game in which Link was able to leave the forest (I dont KNOW this, its just what i heard) at the end of OoT, Zelda sends Link back in time, where he doesnt go to see Zelda a second time, but instead goes to Termania (therefor, Majora's Mask) and lives his time through there.
Ganon, (or Ganondorf) has been sealed a second time by the 7 sages, and he remains in the realm for hundreds of years, the lands change, seporate, transform, until we get the basis of Windwaker. The Island on which Link starts on, is Hyrule market place. The place where the Deku tree is, is (obviously) Kokiri Forest, etc. The Green tunic Link wears has been passed down in memory of the Hero of Time, and the NEW Link gains possession of a similar outfit due to this. Windwaker runs through.
Twilight Princess, from what I've heard, is set a long while after the end of Windwaker, I cant say much as it hasnt come out yet, so OBVIOUSLY no-one knows ^^
None of this is fact, its just what I guess from what i see.
