Early afternoon found Kaleb curled up on his couch between two tall stacks of books, reading up on an advanced shielding technique. He had barely done anything more than study since passing his test earlier in the month, and he hadn't been quite so happy in a long time. It felt good to know he was once again improving his magical repertoire.

Reno had been lounged back in his chair with his feet on his expensive desk complaining about a lack of entertaining things to do for the last half hour. It was starting to get on Rufus nerves.
Walking past the red-head he leaned over the desk to pick up his phone. He had an idea to alleviate some of the Turk's boredom.

Kaleb's ears perked up when he heard the familiar ring of the phone, but getting to it was a completely different matter. After wrestling the giant textbook off his lap and climbing over two piles of books he was able to grab the phone off his old coffee table and flip it open on the third ring. "Hello?"

Ignoring the feel of Reno's hands on him as he leaned over the chair he grinned as Kaleb picked up the phone. "Good afternoon Kaleb." He paused for a moment. "I need you at the office for a .... traning exercise"
He smirked as Rufus spoke to Kaleb. So it wasn't exactaly what he wanted to do to alleviate boredom but he guess it would do for now.

Kaleb blinked, that was new. Usually calls involved a polite request to be ready for a social event later that evening, or an equally polite request to come heal, with lots of screaming and bitching in the background. "O-okay," he replied after a half second. "Do I need to change, or should I just come in what I'm wearing?"

He reached down to stop Reno's hand from moving any lower. "Business attire. I would rather not have to explain to the security officers why there is a teenage boy in the office."

Kaleb frowned and bit back a protest that he wasn't a teenage boy, deciding that wouldn't be the best way to talk to his boss. "Okay, I'll be there in about five minutes."

"Good." he flipped the phone shut and eyed Reno. "I don't believe i gave you permission to do that"
"Don't think i ever asked"

It didn't take Kaleb long to get changed, although he did struggle quite a bit over that tie before finally getting it tied like Rude had showed him. That was the main reason why he had given five minutes rather than two, the tie was the hardest part of the task.
Still, there would be a 'teenage boy' in Rufus' office whether or not he wore the suit, which left Kaleb to believe that Rufus just preferred his boys to be well dressed. With a bit of a sigh, he stepped through a glowing portal and into his boss's office.

Kaleb's thoughts were probably right. Then again he didn't generally hire teenagers but he had nothing against his properly aged men looking like teenage boy. Reno did quite the impression when he wanted to.

Kaleb looked around the office as his portal snapped shut behind him. Spotting Rufus quickly, he tried not to fidget as he addressed his employer. "You said something about training exercises?"

He straightened up and fixed his jacket from where Reno had displaced it. "Yes, infact i did." He turned his chair and managed to dump Reno out of it. "I have not seen the full extent of your abalities and would like a demonstration, Reno has kindly offered to help"
He managed not to fall on his a** and ended up leaning against the desk for a moment. "More like you decided what to do and i'm just tagging along for the excitement"

Kaleb nodded, it was only fair, and it was likely the testing he had undergone at the institute was much more intensive and exhausting. But he paused as a little voice of caution spoke up. Considering his last discussion with Rufus about his abilities, it might not be wise to agree completely without knowing what his boss was thinking.
He adjusted his glasses, a little nervous about that line of thought. "What d-did you have in mind?"

"A demonstration of your shielding abality." He grinned as he moved around his desk and toward Kaleb. "I would not send my Turks into a situation under the protection of another if i did not trust their abilities."

Kaleb's nod was much more agreeable the second time, and his fidgeting stilled itself for a bit. He felt competent with his shielding spells and that went a long way to lessening his anxiety. "Just let me know what you want me to do," Kaleb said, starting to feel almost excited that Rufus was finally going to let him use more than just his healing skills.
