Night, in the savannah. it was cooler now, the large bulky lion moving about in the cool grass, his large body fiding a cool patch of ground before rolling over on it, his belly exposed to the air. He was alone, no harm no fowl. He starred up at the sky, his sad chocolate eyes taking in each star the sky had to offer him. He loved the night, though even he had to admit it was too quiet. He had been alone most of his life, the solitude was nothing new, but it did grow tiring.

 Xia roamed the night time Savannah, and her paws fell quiet as she walked and nearly stumbled over a large panda like lion that was laying on his back looking at the stars and her red orbs caught the glimpse of lonlieness in his eyes as he lay on the grass that tickled the lioness' feet. Catching herself before she tripped and fell, the pink lioness then sat back on her haunches to watch the male. She shivered a little and it was apperant in her voice as she said something to him to break the silence; "It's cold out tonight isn't it?"

The male had not been paying much attention, so when the female nearly tripped over he laying form he darted to his feet, instantly taking up a defensive position in the cool grass. "Who are you, what do you want?" The questions came off his lips before he even got a chance to think.
It was while the stood there, waiting for her response, that he noticed how cold she looked, her body shaking in the night breeze. She was lovely, even if she did look slightly underfed, but who wasn't these days? His own ribs showing slightly against his two toned fur.

"My name's Xia and yours is?" She asked the male while purring instead of shivering for a moment she was not cold as she sat on her haunches while talking to him straight. "Well you looked kind of lonely laying there all by yourself. If I'm wrong please tell me.."

Ling stared at her for some time before speaking again. Who was this female, and why was she being so kind? "My name is Ling. I wasn't really lonely, more...thinking." He lied. He wasn't about to confess his heart out to this woman he had just met, even if she was gorgeous.

A perfect name for a panda colored lion thought the uniquely colored pink lioness to herself as she thought she was a good judge of lonlieness as well. She turned her gaze on the full moon as she sat where she was not doing any advancing and letting the male do it while he thought it over. "I'm sorry, Ling...gosh its cold."she murmered as almost an after thought.

The panda smiled and moved cautiously towards her, his larger form brushing against her side as he walked around her in a circle. "It is a bit chilly. But there are two of us now, and id there is one thing a body is good for...." He smiled as he stopped in front of her. "...It is warmth." He let his chocolate eyes stare deep into hers.

Xia felt warmer as he finally loosened up to her and padded over to her to stop her from shivering as he pressed up against her cold body and she responded with her head pressing against his neck. The lioness' tail wrapped around the male's in thanks as she began to feel warmer as she snuggled against his warm fur.

The large male smiled and nuzzled his head against her neck as he came around for a second pass, he wrapping his dark form around hers in an almost protective manner. Had he known her better it just might have been.
His eyes shone as he chuckled to himself. "I trust this is better for you? The warmth and all?" He had the shimmering touch of humor in his words, as if the whole scene was amusing to him, and perhaps, in the end, it was. He had never minded growing close to people in a hurry, but this female seemed particularly friendly, he knew deep down that he could trust her.

Xia smiled to herself as she felt her eyes close for a while, trusting the male not to hurt her or let any others touch her like hyenas or other males around. She trusted him too unlike he didn't trust her. Stopping shivering, the beautiful lioness lifted her head and looked into his chocolate brown orbs with her red ones a look of thanks in them.
"Yes thank you...want to go hunting with me?" She asked Ling with a curious tone to her voice as she sat still still where she was and let him think again. Hunting and running allways warmed her up.

Hunt?~ He blinked at the female and chuckled weakly. True he had had to hunt for himself all this time, but was this woman serious? She wanted him to hunt with her? He grinned nervously and shrugged. "I am not the best hunter, you might do better on your own."
The last time he had hunted he had to spend most of the night trying to run down his prey. It was tiring, and when he finally made a kill the was too tired to eat. He was not looking forward to another night like that.

Xia smiled at his story and nuzzled his cheek with her own as she slightly felt badly for him and gazed into his eyes with her own. "It's allright, you have me to hunt with, Ling..don't be scared."

Ling blinked at her. Either this female was very arrogant or she was a good huntress. "I hope you are as good as you say you are." He chuckled and tossed his mane a bit. "Alright, I will hunt with you, I am rather hungry." His stomach began to growl almost as if it were some indication that had to be confirmed.

Xia gazed at him before she started to run a gaze that told him that she wasn't arrogent at all just a strong female huntress. Chuckling at his stomach, hers was about to do the same thing as the male lion's did and so as she ran she motioned for him to follow her to get food for themselves.

The male was running after her by now, making certain to stay a few steps behind her. His large body was no good for hunting. It made too much noise and was slow, but yet this female had faith in him. it was a rare thing for him to find such kindness in an established huntress.
