- Zim's little robot...his name is spelled "GIR" not "GRR", "GUR", "GURR", "GRR" or "BARTHOLEMU". - Also, Jhonen Vasquez did not make Ren and Stimpy. I really doubt he even had any affliation with that cartoon either. *NEW* - IRKEN! THE WORD IS IRKEN! NOT URKEN or ERKIN! >_>Anyone else stating this as true is probably wrong. I wouldn't be posting this unless one (or more) people stated these...things.

You cannot call yourself a fan if you can't spell the characters' names correctly. gonk

Some people are "special" in that way. And Jhonen? A little emo boy? That's such a scary thought. PEOPLE, DON'T TURN JHONEN INTO A LITTLE EMO BOY! Only you can prevent this! Spell correctly!

First of all, the DVDs don't come with English subtitles and therefore people may not know the proper spelling. Second, GIR is pronounced 'Grr, or Gur, etc.' so I see this as a reasonable mistake. These people are not 'morons'. They're simply ignorant of the spelling. That doesn't make them stupid.

I think she meant that if someone kept insisting that it's spelled the improper way and kept doing so after being exposed to the proper way, that would be rather stupid.. not someone who really had no idea to begin with. That, and there are many reputable fansites, IMDB, TVTOME, etc. where the info is available to anyone who wasn't sure of the spelling.

Although, if anyone's seen the first episode, shouldn't common sense kick in?

I can't really say... A lot of my obsessions are spurred by the internet. I don't talk to people about a possible obsession until I read and remember everything about it. I knew Gir was spelt the way it is because I read it on fansites and stuff. If I need help spelling a name, I usually put the Closed Captions on (seeing as the DVD doesn't come with English subtitles) and find it out that way, or, like in the case of Shloontapooxis and Captian Lard-Nar, I waiting until the end creds and read it from there. It's just common sense.

It's not "Miss Blither" or "Miss Bithers" or "Miss Blitters" or "Mrs. [anything]" either. It's " Miss Bitters".
