The early morning had come and gone; the sun taking its rightful throne within the skies above and drowning the scattered pines and the lush valley below with its immaculate and radiant beams of pure light. No clouds seem to inhibit its brightness and the temperature was moderately cool and kept a suttle warmth as the day progressed into the afternoon. Unlike his family who was off and about once again, Leith had settled himself comfortabely upon a large, flat faced rock that was positioned just along the river that ran through the packlands and right in the direction of the sun. It wasn't often that the young adult was able to partake in any lazy days and, fortunately, this was a rare occasion and opportunity that was hard to pass up.

Lately, Damu and Taima had been acting rather- well, strange. There was no doubt that there was going to be yet another family announcement that would impact everyones life but exactly when the announcement would be made and what exactly it entailed seemed to unceasingly lurk with curiosity at the back of the white and gold swirled males mind.

Lying upon his stomach as his forepaws were crossed and his head was centered upon them at a slight angle, the male gave a great yawn as his tail swayed behind him in a relaxed and pleasent state.

"He must of brought Sexyback with Taima again," he chuckled softly, rolling onto his side as the warm rays of the sun were most welcomed and cherished. Closing his two toned eyes as a smirk crossed upon his maw, Leith positioned himself more comfortabley and stretched.

"And who knows when the family will gain it's new members."

Maybe sooner than he thought.

Marissa was in a fairly good mood as she padded through the grasses, heading past the reeds surrounding the South-end of the lake and following the drifting scent of her mate. He hadn't been in the den when she woke that morning, not that she minded other than missing him a little. She took the opprotunity to first stop by to visit her cousins, finding out that her aunt Loki and uncle Hige were soon to be having their second litter. Though changes were on the wind (she was asked to spread the word about a pack meeting to occur within the next moon), the news of the alpha's second litter was sure to be well recieved by all.

"Leith... is everything alright...?" She questioned softly, tongue rolling comfortably between her jaws with a casual pant, taking in the scents around them with more accuracy as she strolled towards his resting place.

His two toned eyes seemed to flicker, falling heavy but occasionally glancing upwards towards the open skies while his mind seemed to dabble in countless thoughts, trying to put the pieces together and attempting to daydream about his parents next litter as well as creating a family of his own with his mate, Marissa.

Between the two wolves, there was no rush for a lusting, physical relationship and love affair that would go uncherished and unappriciated. Both Leith and Marissa were both down to earth- taking their relatioship one step at a time and growing to love each other more and more with each passing day. Snuggling and talking freely of whatever their minds seemed to question or find fascination meant more than anything- being able to feel one anothers warmth and enjoy each others company made the white and gold swirled males heart swell!

Love was delicate.

And Leith knew that taking the simple steps along with simple progression was the key to making either of them happy and comfortable.

His train of thought seemed to suddenly withdraw from his current reflection as his ears perked upwards as his head lifted slightly off the rock. Turning his head slightly as 'Rissa strolled towards him, the young adult smiled warmly.

"Everything is fine," he commented softly, his two toned eyes gazing at her with their warm, affectionate glow, "I just wanted to come out and enjoy the sun by the river." Rolling onto his stomach, Leith couldn't help but sheepishly smile as his ears fell slightly against his head.

"I didn't mean to worry you, 'Rissa, or leave you this morning without telling you. I just felt like finding some sun and just day dreaming and it was hard to find the courage to wake you from your sleep," he commented, brows knitted together as his actions truly were never intended to hurt her feelings.

"Forgive me?"

To this, Marissa simply chuckled, closing the distance between them and nipping at one of his ears harmlessly and affectionately.

"It's alright, Leith, you're entitled to wander off every now and then without telling me everytime."

Marissa was too trusting to even fathom the thought that there might ever be questionable intentions with Leith. Thankfully there were none, he gave her no reasons to doubt, though by all means he could have. They were very much new to this relationship, and by most other's standards he didn't owe her anything this early on, but he gave it anyway.

He was certainly a good friend, and so far, the same could be said for him as a "boyfriend".

Marissa grinned, tail swaying to and fro. She wasn't nervous, already having had the discussion concerning family with him before, and she knew he'd be happy with the news even if they were still inexperienced in this field.

"I know something you don't know, Leith~" She teased, circling him playfully.

"Well maybe next time we can wander off together," he grinned, uable to keep a straignt face as she nipped at his ear with great affection, "because I don't want to leave you by yourself all of the time."

Crossing his forepaws, the white and gold swirled male stretched his head forwards and buried his muzzle deep into her fur. Having a good friend, and even a girlfriend, was something he had needed since his brother, Darius, had slumped into a major funk with his mood and attitude but it was a blessing to have someone whom he could freely talk to and someone who he could care so dearly for.

His white ears suddenly perked upwards as a sly smirk crept across his maw. "Oh, what now?" He gasped as his two toned eyes watched as the wolfess circled about him.

Leith's tail swept and thumped upon the rock as he kept a grin tucked at the corner of his maw. "You've been hiding something from me, haven't you, 'Rissa? Are you going to tell me or do I have to guess?"
