Dahabu'Chaka woke up from her afternoon nap. It had been a long day of play with siblings, and the nap seemed to be just the thing to recharge. She still lay on the dusty earth, but opened her mouth wide and let out a huge lion-yawn, with a little whimper toward the end.
Time for an adventure, no doubt in her mind. She lept to her little feet and strode off in a random direction; that was how she found the most interesting things, just pointlessly meandering. "Wonder what'll happen today..." She said out loud, little dust clouds forming in her wake.

Ekage stretched his legs and peered around with his deep brown eyes. He flicked his tail and rolled his shoulders, sighing he padded along through the green grass he had come upon. He could see a large silhouetted stone in the distance, must be somewhere important, least what Ekage thought in his mind.
He hummed to himself as he went along, what a day. He wondered if he'd meet anyone new today, it was hot out, but not so much for him. His white coat made it easy to keep cool on day like this.

((Congrats on Nix! She's gorgeous! heart )) White was an easy thing to see across the savannah, and the white pelt of this stranger made him stand out brilliantly. She paused in the shade of a nearby acacia tree to check out what he was doing, and then decided to go pounce him.
Being small and being the same color as the savannah really helped her in stalking. Chaka had found through her days that she was able to catch mice and such better than her darker brother. She could tell she was close when she heard the adult lion's bigger feet meandering through the drier grass.
It was at this moment Chaka popped out with as much of a lion-like roar that she could muster. It sounded surprisingly similar to that of her lion friend, Noyana, and she was pleased.

Ekage heard something, then a noise, he turned his eyes to fall upon a bright little creature, making some strange growling noise, for a moment he thought perhaps it was sick, or angry, but not, it seemed like just a jackal pup playing a game. He stopped, chuckled and shook his mane a bit, "Having some fun today are we? My you look menacing," he said jokingly, though he didn't know if that would add to the little creatures ego or not. "Have I trespassed little one? I do not mean to intrude, I'm Ekage."

Chaka smiled up at Ekage. She took his comments as a compliment, and it did indeed build her ego a bit. "I hope I didn't scare ya too bad!" She said. Chaka always had good intentions. (Usually, playful intentions.) "You're not intruding at all," she said, acting like she was queen of the pridelands. Such was her imaginings today. "My name is Dahabu'Chaka, Chaka for short," she said, holding her snout a little in the air. "You have trespassed, but the crime is forgiven." She said gravely, but then couldn't help it. Chaka giggled once she had deemed that enough time had passed. It would be hard to be queen indeed- not allowed to giggle. (Or so she thought)

Ekage chuckled and tilted his head, resting himself on the earth beneath his paws and this little ones paws. Did she think she was a lioness? Seemed to be, it was cute, though perhaps one day, someone would crush her dreams of becoming something only a lioness could be. He however, would not be the one to crush them. "I am grateful I am forgiven Chaka, just passing through, needing to rest my paws you understand," such a cute game, yes, young ones were so interesting and precious.

"I see. I suppose that's ok," She said, trying (and failing) to keep a straight face as she circled the male. "Where are you going?" She asked, putting off the act for her usual curiousities. Maybe this male had some interesting stories to tell of the world beyond the Pridelands- stories of maybe another family like hers, of mini-lions.
She stared with big green eyes desperately seeking a detailed answer.

He smiled sincerely, such a little thing, acting so big and strong. It was good, would prepare Chaka for the real world once it was revealed to her. Where was he going...well then, "I'm not quite sure Chaka, looking for somewhere to go, perhaps find my family, I want to see them again, I miss them you understand," he said with a nod. Yes, hopefully that explained it well enough.
Perhaps.

"Oh..." The pup said, sitting down. She guessed that when people got big enough, they all lived seperate from their moms and dads. Maybe close by, but never with them. Yes, it would be a bit troubling. Chaka would one day have to face this truth, she realized.
"I'd miss them too," she said, almost quietly. Then she suddenly found a burst of energy, as all pups do, and lept up to her feet. Tail wagging madly behind her, Chaka asked, "Have you seen any mini-lions like me around where you've been?" She puffed out her chest, proud of her kind.

"Yes, missing them is hard, but when I find them, oh how lovely it will be don't you think?" Yes, seeing their smiles upon there maws in a reunion like no other, that is, if he could find them, if they were still able to be found. Though he only liked to believe that he would find them one day, yes, yes he would.
Mini lions? He chuckled at her statement, "No, no, I guess I haven't really, would think I would after meeting you, so full of energy, I'm surprised I haven't seen little balls of fluff mini lions running around in different places." he bent down and smirked, smiled then, adn whispered, "I'll make sure to keep an eye out, to give you a warning of any that might look suspicious, good plan?"

"Yes, very good plan," she said, picking up the regal act again. "There may be some of my kind that are not mini, you know. I personally think it's the water around here. Yes, I think that the water hole near my palace could have bad water, you see, because we have a neighbor that, though bigger than us, is deformed," she said, picking up the royal "we" as she went along. How she loved acting; pretending. "Not deformed, per se, but just... strange looking. Like a bigger version of us." She, of course, was talking about her mother's friend and new playmate, Amaterasu and Ukabe.

Ekage gave a chuckle, this little jackal was so amusing and tiny, someday she would find out the truth, perhaps, though he wasn't sure if anyone would be so cruel a to tel her the real truth. Flicking his tail he watched her, then peered at the sky, he'd have to move on from here, find a nice spot to rest for the night beneath the shimmering stars.
Deformed?
That wasn't very nice...or good...perhaps it was just another creature mistaken for a lion.
"I must apologize my friend, but the time of day grows short, and I have to find a suitable place to rest, do you think if I come back one day, you could show me around?" he asked sounding hopeful, would be nice tog et a grand tour of this place.

"Of course I could show you around! Find me, I'd be more than happy to give you a grand tour," the jackal-lion said. "Just be sure to come back, ok? Don't be a stranger!" She said happily to the larger male. "I'll see you around, then!" She said before turning and running off to her home. She was getting tired too, even for a pup.
