So, for those that are unaware, M*A*S*H started out as MASH books. Has anyone read any of them? They are definately a... differant expericene from the show, or even the movie.

They're really good, but they're a bit more... risque than even the movie was. Lots of innuendo. And the character portrayal is different, too. Hawk's married (and didn't fool around with the nurses while in Korea surprised ), Trapper was made chief surgeon of the 4077, Ho-Jon was drafted (and wounded). In short, there are some differences, but they are good. The only thin I can say bad about them is that the later books tend to use the MASHers more as a backdrop to other charaters introduced soely in the books.

I only read the first one. One of my favorite parts was a drunk Trapper dressed as Jesus Christ hanging from a helicopter. I also noticed that Duke Forrest was more racist in the book than he was in the movie.
