Everyone has a diffrent story to tell about how they came to the realms of jrock fandom and beyond. What's yours?
I dont think that I even remember exactly. It didn't involve anime, just internet chatrooms and being an easily influenced 10 year old (whoa its been 7 years *_*). Lots of Gackt, Morning Musume (minimoni in particular), 3B LAB, and Dir en Grey at first. Really one of those two extremes. Over the years, I've really gone back and forth between jpop and jrock, but Ive finally decided that I just need to listen to what I like, whatever it is. The most memorable jrock moment I've ever had was not going to Diru, but going to see Peelander-Z and having Peelander Yellow flick his boogers at me. It really made me think, "wow, I really must love jrock."

In 1997, I heard my first J Rock song.... I fell in love with the music.... but also... I fell in love with the singer... heart I didn't know how he looked at the time, or even the name of the band, but I would always tune my radio to the same channel hoping that that song will come on once again, and I would hear his voice.
7 years later My friend got me into Japaneses stuff, and the 2 more years after that, I was reunited with my beloved band and my beloved vocalist.
From there on after, I dedicated my life to them. Because they have changed my view on life! they opened my eyes to things that I couldn't yet understand. I grew up with J Rock and forever will be with J Rock! <3
Now I can not be happier! [well I can be!] I am pretty good friends with my favorite band, and life is grand! [most of the times...]
First J Rock Song I've ever heard! <3

...well I don't really remember...but one of the boys in my class (it was in Japan) had brought a music player to school one day (we were going on a feild trip to the ...um...oyster thingy place by the sea thingy...) and I was walking by him (we walked there stare ) and asked what he was listening to. He told me that he was listening to a song by Dir en grey and he let me listen. It was Yurameki, and I loved that song so much, I would ask him to replay it over and over again during the trip. heart

I'm not really sure how I first got introduced to Jrock. I remember that one of my friends had been obsessing over Dir en grey, but she really didn't hear their music (one of those icky fan girls). Then I went home and listened to their music. Instantly I fell in love with their sound.
I haven't counted the years but I've been in love with Jrock ever since.
(I've noticed a lot of people got into Jrock from Dir en grey). heart

My friend was into Japanese stuff so he found some music and told me to listen. I think it was Miyavi, anyway I liked it and looked for more when I got home on youtube. It's a short story but that's it.

i was on wikipedia looking up leon from final fantasy 8 when i read that his character design was based on this one guy named gackt. at first i wasnt interested in him cause it was a really shitty picture, but for some reason i decided to look him up again a few weeks later and checked out the links. i went to this one site that had a lot of pics and i fell in love with his appearance. well a while later i found out google showed videos, so i decided to check and see if he had any. and thats when i really fell in love with him. i think the first one i saw was either redemption or secret garden. all the other bands i found after that were from looking up stuff about gackt (hyde, l'arc~en~ciel, alice nine, an cafe, miyavi, dir en grey, etc... discovered in that order). this happened about a year ago.

One of my best friends [he died] told me about Miyavi when I was down and depressed and it helped me get through it, then I started to listen to Diru and stuff... I really miss him, when I say he died, he isn't DEAD.. just, the old him died.. he's someone different now, I miss the old Dante.. -sigh- J rock for me is in a way a momento of him.

My friend got me into it....I started listening to hide and X-Japan when i was eight years old....but then I got soooo upset when hide-sama died.... crying gonk crying gonk crying gonk but then i started to get interested in Diru around 1999 and then i just went deeper and deeper into the world of J-rock!

I used to hang around jpop/rock obsessed people when I was like... 7 sweatdrop I had to move away and one of them gave me a CD...I forgot about the CD for a while and later I poped it in and ended up hearing Garden by of course Dir en grey and I have loved them ever since...though I have to admit I didn't show it much when I was younger..probably because I had no one to relate to at the time... anyways heart I've loved jrock and Dir en grey ever since!

Not long after I met my bf (about 7 months ago) he introduced me first to Sharpnel. (You guys know who that is? xD)
Not long after, he decided to introduce me to Jrock.
I think the first actual Jrock song he let me listen to was Syunikiss by Malice Mizer. <3
