I'm 14 years old going on fifteen. I've been a self harmer since I was 9 years old. A few days before school was over I went to the school counsler and confesed everything to him and told him i need help but my parents failed to provide it. You see I had told my mom but she brushed it off and said it was a phase and to grow up. From then on I felt even more alone. My brother started the emotionaly and physically abue me even more because he had found out that I did s-i. Of course he hurt me more emotionally. a year after I had told my mom she found out she had breast cancer. I was about to try to tell her again but i didn't want to make her even more depressed so I let it og on until i couldn't sleep and the urges were so intense that i had to cut more frecuently. Then I started the have halusinations so I went to the counsler he said that he would tell them. I said that I would and not to worry. I still havent told them because they found another tumor. My mom doesnt need more worries. What should I do?

I think you should try to get some help from your counselor. Ask him to refer you to someone who can help with these things. Tell your parents that you need to see someone to work out some issues that you have. They don't need to know all the details, but tell them that you would like to talk to someone.

I think you should tell your mother. Believe me, the stress of finding out you have problems that she needs to help you with will be FAR LESS than the stress of finding out later when you kill or severely injure yourself, or become more ill. Help her help you!

Think of it this way; wouldn't it hurt more if your mother didn't tell you she had cancer? You'd probably figure it out by yourself, and it would hurt that she'd kept it from you.

Please tell them, or if you can't, ask your counselor.

She didn't tell me she kept it from me besides I told her last night and she said to pray and go talk to my brother about it and that shhe needed a better reason.

Do you have a crisis center that deals with these things free? We have one around here and I used to go to them for nothing. Mostly all they do is talk to you, but they also will help you try to set things straight with your parents, if necessary, so you can get better help.

I agree. Your mother is your mother and i am sure she would like to do everything to help you. I know that you do not want to tell your mother however she will want to know that you are happy and healthy.

You need to make your problem known to your family. My mom has MS, Lime Dissese, Dipression, and a brain tomer, but she was my life line when I needed her most.
