We all go shopping for clothes or buy art on Gaia! (If you don't..You're mad. D< Kidding! <3)
At first sight, sometimes it's like WOW! It's AMAZING! 8DDD MUST HAVE IT!
Or a more apropriate one for art, OH MY GOSH! O3O I love it!! whee
But later, we all notice the details. O: I have some art that I drew and kept them for a long time and after a while, I'm like I drew that? Ew! D;

I concur. Some things just look and feel different after awhile, after you've glanced at it a few times, after someone else has, etc.

My opinion on most things stays the same over time. Very rarely will it change.
I still enjoy Smashing Pumpkins and think they're better than the majority of bands out now and they've been disbanded since what? 1998?
JtHM is still one of the greatest comics ever conceived, and I've thought that way since 2000, heheheh.

Exactly Angelina. I have some art, done by a friend. This is in RL. And they are oil paintings, abstract. Actually a couple are still quite good. But a few of them are just...80's...meaning, not that they are from the 80's but that they are just sort of "been there, done that". I didn't see that before, or maybe I am just tired of them now. I dunno.
I have some art that I personally drew when I was young, like 13 or so. Ugh. When I did them I thought that they were ok. When I look back now, it's really wierd but they are terrible. lol

Well, I found a Gaia item I see as over rated.
The Kiki kitty plushie. It doesn't have a lot of poses and they're just kinda...meh.
Personally I find the Lunar Cloak and the Katana bloody rock. The kiki seems too plain and blah to me.
And on the topic of art. My own shoddy excuse of hand drawn art has not changed in crappiness in the last 17 years. Damn I rock.

I think when you saw the item the first time and loved it, you really meant you loved it at that time that why you bought it..some factors maybe because you love the color or the design or something that really caught your eye...initially you were attracted to that item because you've related that item to something you like (such as color which is very influential especially on clothes and art)..
but as time passes, your likes changes...you may love purple now but a few months from now you might love pink or black...so when you go back to that purple item you bought and doesn't like purple anymore, you'll not appreciate it as much as you've appreciate it when you first saw it..because of the change...
in art, you may not appreciate what you've drawn before because you've progressed as an artist and what you draw was long learned and you've learned new techniques about drawing that made your original one seem amateur...

Some of my old stories are like that. By the time I actually get around to finishing my novels I'm going to have to go back and rewrite the whole first half of the book! (On the other hand, nothing is set in stone until it goes to the printer, so in that way I'd guess I'm lucky)

I know what you mean..at least you're able to determine progress..that you're becoming an even greater writer than you were before...^_^
but if you let other people read your first story and they tell you its good, what more if they read your new ones... biggrin

Everybody seems to be writing a novel. Not me though, no time.
