Shanks shook his head and turned away from Kale for a moment, while preparing. "Pay attention now Kale;" He told her, an air of all seriousness to his voice. "This is where my techniques start to get a bit more complicated." He seemed pleased by this fact as he looked over his shoulder at the young 'ward'. Kale's eyes were large and she bit at her knuckles with pure anticpation. She wanted to be as cool as Shanks. He could look over his shoulder and be fully awesome. While he wasn't lookign she tested this, looking over her shoulder. She didn't feel any cooler...Maybe it only worked for him. Maybe she needed to put a hand on her hip. Maybe she thought; I need a cape...

{3/5; Chaos Slash}

"Tell you what," He said with a slight grin. "If you complete all of my training, Young Kale..." Kale got excited, what was it going to be? Would he divulge in his secret cape acquiring location? "I'll tell you where you can get a cape, so you can look as cool as me." It was a simple promise; in exchange for her learning his ways; eeking out her training -- he would help her find a cape. "Yes, Yes! What are we waiting for! Show me this amazing slash so that I might be one step closer to looking cool." Kale bounced around excitedly as she waited for the motions to begin. He laughed; part of him decided that he should tell her the cape is what's on the inside; but that was a cop-out and he didn't think that Kale would go for it.

He turned on her, wielding his sword. He slid his foot back, and began what was just the thrust she'd learned. In the end however; a flurry of a ending -- to Kale; was an uppercut slash. She liked that part, and in the back of her mind, she thought of what she could do with an ending like that. He turned on her. "Try it."

Kale laughed and nodded, wielding Cherry; she repeated his actions -- pushing her foot back for stance and then the consecutive thrusts; and the ending move, uppercutting the thrust. It was a very smooth action, she noticed; she expected it to be awkward.

"Well, I just call it 'Merry Pirate Slashes'" Shanks told Kale, the name was no big deal really; but apparently it got Kale's attention. "Merry...Pirate...Slashes." She repeated, her mouth opened in a large smile and she clapped her hands together. "That's even cooler than Chaos Slash!" She told him, "You went from all broody and "Chaos Slash-y" to, 'Yeah! Merry Pirates, and our slashing!" She clapped again; pure joy written all over her beautiful face. Kale was just that kind of girl though; she would congradulate, and admire when it was due; and fight and be sad when she had to do that too. Though, she preferred not to have to. Sadness, caused wrinkles; and she -- was too pretty for wrinkles.

{2/6; Merry Pirate Slashes}

Kale watched; Not only, she noted -- was the move quick it also seemed very aggressive. Shanks had moved forward and slashes happened; there were a lot. They came fast and from all different directions. It was a barrage of pure slashing, and inwardly Kale laughed at the name. "Merry" should have been replaced with "Aggressive" but she considered that maybe calling it "Merry" gave the opponent, or when Shanks (She knew) was fighting victim; a false sense of security. Like the opponent would think 'Merry? Just how bad can this be' and then they would realize that they had just entered hell; and that Shanks was the one sentencing them.

Shanks stepped back and looked over Kale. "Try again," He told her; watching her. Kale re-took the stance and took a breath. She repeated the actions again, swinging the sword ferociously, aggressively and with force behind them. She could hear the sound of her sword cutting the air, and it sent sweet tingles of powerful pleasure up her spine. She came to a halt; and turned to look at Shanks for approval. "If you keep this up, you're definitly going to look at cool as me." He told her; holding his head up -- his cape moving in the light breeze. To Kale it was a picture of cool perfection, the wind; the cape, the way he was holding his head while speaking to her.

{6/6; Merry Pirate Slashes!}

"Watch me carefully, Kale." Shanks told her, everytime he said that; Kale felt a cool breeze of seriousness in his tone. She nodded poltely, staying silent as he prepared his stance. She knew this was going to be an awesome move. All of his techniques were full of awesome to her. She was so happy to be learning them, learning to be cool; was more like what Kale felt was going on. Shanks slid his foot back, and checked his stance glancing to Kale to see if she got it. To which she mimicked the action and nodded her head with a smile. She had gotten it.

Shanks turned on her Kale, only a touch out of breath. He smiled. "You think you can handle all of that?" He questioned her, thoughtfully. She nodded and took stance. "That's good." He told her, "Now slash left." He was directing the motions. Kale did as was told; A quick slash to the left. "Quick slash right," She brought the blade back towards the right. "Uppercut!" He called, completely proud of that. She did the action, bringing the blade up for an uppercut, "Down!" He told her quickly. She slashed the blade downward. It was still awkward, but that was okay. She got what she was supposed to do, now she could move in and do it again.
