Okassis paused the dance to look at his dance partner, an injured look on his face. "Where's this charming partner of yours? I thought you were dancing with me!" Nope, he never could resist an opportunity for a bad joke - at least he was willing to make up for it with a laugh and an energetic tip of his arm, pushing the two of them back into step with the music.

"My name's Okassis," he told her, "and it is indeed a story that you must hear, but it might take more than one song to tell." Spinning her once, then catching her, he grinned. "But of course, if yonder Harper plays more than one, and you aren't seized by wanderlust...."

You won't, you won't! I'm faster than you and you simply will not catch me! It was quite possible that her trumpeting and crooning was drowning out most of the undercurrent of noise. The pair were making quite the disturbance in their little game, Miith bumping into one of the benches that sent little children sliding off. But, their game was going to end soon... because she was getting tired, and Galliath was getting closer! This simply would not do! But what could she do to shake him off...?

She heard E'si in her mind, calling to her, telling her to stop before she really hurt someone. Of course, she still didn't care... but she knew the one person who could protect her from Galliath! I'm coming! she called out to her rider, sharply changing direction to instead pursue E'si.

Quite frankly, E'si did not stand a chance.

His blue eyes widened, lips parting in an exclamation of surprise as Miith rounded one of the tables and headed straight for him. The green dragonet didn't bother to slow down, instead bowling right into E'si's legs, sending the pair toppling down onto the ground. "FARANTHSHARDITMIITH--" E'si groaned from underneath his dragonet's weight, which was rather crushing despite her being the smallest color that dragons came in.

Hello! I caught you! Miith crooned, her eyes swirling green and blue, and E'si... rather unfortunately, could not be mad at her in that moment.

Iiiiiii caaaught yooooou! the brown dragonet crowed, terribly pleased with himself. Setting up quite a stir of dust, Galliath came careening into the pile of dragon-and-rider, and warbled happily. Peering down into E'si's face, his eyes whirling a blue-green, the dragonet asked, Is this yours, Miith? Is he, is he? Staring into the young man's face, the dragonet was faintly confused. Miith, is yours male? Gall had assumed as much, but upon seeing the long hair, the little brown rocked back onto his haunches, stumped. ... Oh well. Whether Miith's was male or female did not matter. Miith's was Miith's, and Miith was his favorite! Joining the pile once more, he crooned and attempted to fit with the smaller dragonet on top of E'si.

Miith glanced over her shoulder, eyes flashing briefly yellow with alarm when she realized that Galliath wasn't going to stop either. The brown came crashing into the pair, and Miith crooned with pleasure at the sudden pile, which her rider unforunately was at the bottom of. You only caught me because mine got in the way! ...Yes, yes he is! Is he not perfect? I think he's perfect, and he's... definitely a boy. She peered down at her bonded, as if trying to figure out if he really was male. But, if he was female she would not have liked him! So, he was definitely male, and with a nod she assured herself of that fact. He might look feminine in a few aspects, but he was a boy! You're not a girl, are you? She still had to ask, just in case.

"Oh...Faranth that hurts. Miith, get off! Is that... eh, it's probably that Galliath you wanted to play with." E'si sighed softly, ignoring the ache that the playful dragonets had caused when running into him. Miith, though, still wouldn't get off, and laid happily on top of E'si, humming her pleasure at their closeness. "You're squishing me... What? Of course I'm not a girl!"

"Advantage of? If I was you'd be fighting a bit bettur~" Dorinelic's singing voice hadn't gotten any better. "Besides, if I dinnit check, how would I know?" He sent S'van into a spin before resuming the dance moves, (which at this point were reduced to random movements). Swaying his head with the music, his grin still stuck on his face, Dorinelic tried to sent his partner into another low dip. 'Tried' being the key word. Half way into the dip, the alcohol got the best of Dorinelic's body and made his hands grow weak. Weak enough to drop S'van right onto the ground. Now unbalanced, Dorinelic had very little to do.
So, naturally, true to his form, he went with the path of least resistance.
Which in this case, was gravity.
Now on top of his partner, Dorinelic mumbled a few curse as he tried to get himself up, groping S'van as he did so. Then, something became apparent. "...Oi, where are 'ur boobs?"
PostPosted: Tue May 05, 2009 9:03 pm

Okay. S'van didn't remember a lot about dancing at this point, but he was reasonably sure that it was meant to be done standing up. Also, he was pretty sure that it did not involve such close touching. "... Are we still dancing?" he asked, bewilderment clear in his tone. Huunhh... his head was very fuzzy. Fortunately, Galliath was completely distracted from his rider by Miith and Miith's rider. Oh, well. Boys are better, anyway, the brown dragonet said serenly, totally oblivious to E'si's distress at being trampled. Joining Miith in humming, Gall bumped his head against the greenrider's hand, seeking scratches. He didn't get enough attention, he really didn't! Why was everyone not pouring love upon him? No! I caught you... 'cause... 'cause I could! he declared, certain in his victory. "... Boobs?" What did the word mean?

Kimie Kitty
Jessmet grinned up at the bronze-rider. She wasn't an especially talented dancer, but the music was infectious, and she was light enough on her feet. "Oh, he'll be fine. One moment." She held up a finger and unwound the fire-lizard's tail from her neck.

"Go up, Bug," she instructed, looking into his eyes and picturing the ledges which surrounded the Weybowl. A number of other attached fire-lizards had perched there, enjoying the general spectacle. Trundlebug's jewel-faceted eyes whirled slowly, he chirruped questioningly, and finally winked between. "See?" Jessmet told S'kagi. "No issue on that end!"

She took the rider's hand and the pair made their way through the crowd to the dance floor. "You should come, too, S'van," Jessmet called over her shoulder. "I've no doubt you'll find a dance partner as well!"

"Excelent." S'kagi grinned again, as they headed to the dance floor. Even a little tipsy, he was actually a reasonably good dancer, and in truth, he might well have been dancing even without the 'special blend' Klah. He loved to dance, though he didn't get the chance as often as he would have liked, partially because it was hard to find the time.
"I'll warn you in advance, one of the other Candidates is going to have a field day over this feast I think, though you probably know her better than I do."

Jessmet was pleased with S'kagi's skill. Having a good lead helped, and it was nice not to worry about having her feet stepped on.

"One of the other..?" she repeated, trailing off as she realized who the rider meant. Shells. "Oh, Nandeli?" Jessmet shook her head. "Ah well. That girl sees intrigue in anything."

So far, Jessmet had managed not to be the butt of any Nan-started rumors. Apparently that might change.

Unless, of course, other couples were far more interesting. The girl looked around the dance floor; there was S'van and a larger young man she didn't know. It wasn't quite what she'd meant by 'dance partner' but who was she to judge? Oh, there was Okassis dancing with a girl, and Inaari with the vaguely familiar young man who'd been admiring Galliath.

"I take it you've had a run-in with her?"

S'kagi laughed sheepishly. "Apparently, though I found out about it indirectly. Apparently I've been having far more liaisons than I was aware of. Perhaps in my sleep." He joked. "I suppose they're pretty much harmless so far."
He sighed and added. "Ah, I wish we had time for this more often. You'd think we would as quiet as everything's been, but it does take a lot of resources, and we need them at the moment."

I know! Boys are far more better than girls, and I do not know why any dragon would want a girl when there are boys to choose from. Of course she adored her E'si, despite his long hair and his his refusal to make friends with everyone. She would work on him, and they would be very happy together. Miith was sure of it. She turned her head to eye Galliath, who was beginning to steal her bonded's attention. But... clearly E'si was so great that everyone wanted some time with him. She was proud! Crooning, she backed up a little bit to let E'si and Galliath play, because she was kind enough to share her bonded, since Galliath's was too busy playing with someone else. It was luck that you caught me, Galliath! she teased.

E'si sighed softly, trying his hardest to breathe around the weight of the dragonets on top of him. He glowered up at the sky, but his view was obscured by the arch of a dragonet's neck. "If you get off me I'll give you as many scratches as you want," he grunted, reaching out to scratch underneath the dragonet's eye gently. But, his touch was brief, teasing rather, trying to coax the dragonet off of him.

Jessmet grinned and nodded understandingly. "What, you mean we're not all having secret trysts in the corners?"

She twirled neatly. She sort of wished she'd dressed up a little more, maybe put on a skirt. At least she'd made an effort with her hair.

"It is nice. We work hard here. Not that I mind," she added quickly. "It's perfectly reasonable, since Thread should be here soon..." Jessmet didn't know the exact time, but she knew the signs that heralded an imminent Pass. Like the dragons clutching so frequently.

"It's worth it, I think."

The current music ended; she bowed to S'kagi. He had the choice to find a new partner for the next dance or stay with Jessmet.

Kiriwar had wiggled his way into the crowd rather easily, peering around for familiar faces. The sight of people dancing made him smile, a light chuckle escaping him as he paused in the crowd to watch those pairs who were enjoying the music. This feast was fantastically lively... He paused, though, blinking slowly at the sight of S'van and Dorinelic, arching an eyebrow. It... may be time to step in. Quickly, the Vintner made his way over to the two and smiled as charmingly as he could, taking hold of S'van's hands and drawing him up to his feet, away from the other boy. "May I steal this dance, S'van?"

Giving S'van a few more pats on the chest, Dorinelic wasn't quite sure what was going on. Grabbing his own chest, then S'van's, he nodded. Sitting upright, and still on top of the new rider, the smith crossed his arms and had a scowl replacing his long time grin. "'Ur a MAN." He said, not making eye contact. "And 'ou didn't tell me." He stood up and looked down at S'van, face red from more then just wine. "........You do look like a gurl. Dance like one too. 'S not my fault." He huffed, offering a hand up. "........" Even under his reddened face and scowl, you could still tell he was more embarrassed then upset. Maybe a bit amused even. "...'surry."

Nessariah
All she could say to that, brown eyes wide and freckles crinkled up at the corners of her mouth and eyes was: "I didn't know wherries could dance!" Unless it was a human wherry. Those danced fairly well, from what she saw at the Hold Gathers. Giggling to herself somewhat, the tinkling laughter burst from her chest in a half-squeal as Jiriar caught her up and spun her like a little girl. This was entirely unexpected and her arms caught tight around his neck every time he did it, with lots of loud laughter and squealing ensuing.

He also was not a horrible dancer, and with the singing in the background, it was finally a real party for the Holder girl. She had heard that after not Impressing, it was depressing to attend the Feast. But far from being depressed, Inaari was at the peak of her upper emotions! Moving to the beat, clinging for dear life when she was swung around, it was such a merry time! She'd almost forgotten entirely that somewhere a new dragonrider had almost entirely brushed her off.

"Jiriar! You're crazy!" But enjoyable. So fun!

Elsewhere, the poor green flitt was not having a good time of it. She had stretched forward in earnest curiosity towards the new brown dragonet, and had been met with a furious hiss and and angry mental command. This had sent her screeling into the air, and vanishing up towards the ceiling to go between. When her mistress returned, she would not be pleased!

"Ahh, you'd be surprised! You'd almost find it cute--until they run you down and try to peck you to death." He knew that much from experience, at least. The noises she made were enough to make him grin like a fool, his own laughter mingling with hers, her delight infectious. He'd never had siblings before, perhaps that was why he found himself not really caring what would people think.

Her statement was taken as a compliment, and the man flicked long strands of bangs from his face with another grin. "As long as you're having a good time, that's all that matters... 'Course, until someone decides to rescue you by prying you out of my grip!" That would be his cue, of course, to spin her about some more, though he was careful not to do it enough to where she was afraid she might get sick.

FerretPrince

If F’sey was hoping that C’ren would immediately accept H’dra as a friend, now and forever, then he would be sorely disappointed. He eyed the boy critically, thinking that he was rather… well… soft for someone who F’sey liked so much. Not that C’ren really knew the older Greenrider very well at this point. Still, at least he didn’t try to scare H’dra away. That was practically three cheers and a chorus where C’ren was concerned.

“Yeah, yeah. Keep your shirt on, F’sey. For the good of us all. Vox! Stop that, right now!” he waved a hand at the fat blue firelizard once more, but Vox paid it no heed. His swirling eyes were set on the food that C’ren was trying to valiantly defend. In the end, the Greenrider was forced to pretend to throw a tidbit of some sort, and Vox promptly chased after the nothing. That would keep him busy for a little while, at least long enough for C’ren to crack open the bottles.

I wish Astarteth’s was here… Ceylith murmured, partly to herself, partly to Ialluth and mostly to C’ren. If F’sey was showing off his adopted weyrling, it only felt like C’ren ought to do the same. Although, for some reason, he had been avoiding the weyrling… Ceylith sighed quietly before commenting, They are so very odd, aren’t they, Ialluth?

It was perfectly fine that C'ren didn't care to accept H'dra right away, that simply meant there was more of the nice little bluerider to keep to himself. ( And should C'ren have tried to chase his nice little bluerider away, F'sey would have had to give him a piece of his mind and well, that would not be a very good day. ) "Shut up, C'ren. You'd like to see me shirtless," he shot back before turning his attention to H'dra again. Snark was nice, but polite little weyrlings were nice too.

"Well, be warned. I don't like that bronzerider," he huffed, face dark as he dwelled on the scolding received before the Feast had begun. F'sey knew he had been wrong, but admitting his fault was all but impossible when they sent someone near half his age to have a word with him. Honestly!

Ialluth rumbled and sighed. Time for damage control. Reaching out, she gently prodded blue Deviath before speaking to the weyrling. Hello, Deviath! I am Ialluth. I hope I am not interrupting anything. We have not met before, but Mine speaks very highly of Yours! Please do excuse me for just bursting in as such, but I would appreciate it if you tell Yours not to listen to Mine while he speaks of Coriath's. Mine is very...sore at His. Ialluth rumbled softly, amusement deep in her voice. She was rather glad someone to Hers down a peg or two.

She turned her attention back to Ceylith and crooned softly at her friend. Strange? Oh yes, I agree. I don't understand why Mine keeps fussing about Coriath's. Coriath is a good dragon, and Mine was wrong. Silly Mine.

F'sey snorted while his dragon intervened, leaning over to peer at C'ren's progress with the wine skins. "How's it going over there?" He eyed H'dra. "You having anything to drink, kid? Or are you going to get raging drunk like those shardits over there if I let you have something?"
