Chaz rubbed the back of his head and sighed. "Espagnole est une sorte de diffĂ©rent..." (Spanish is kind of different). He took her hand and shook it. "Mon nom est Chaz" (My name is Chaz). He looked over at Falene, who spoke french as well. "Et vous ĂȘtes?" He smiled faintly at her.

"Yeah I know, but I speak both and I get them confused." She paused. "Chaz?" She smiled and nodded. "Good to meet you." Not that I really WANT to meet anyone. "And uhm... about earlier with the... yeah. Sorry." She smiled. "But at least if I hurt you I can help!" She unknowingly switched back to English.

Chaz just waved a hand to dismiss her suggestion. He was much more interested in the French girl right now. He looked at Sarren and said, "I finally met someone who can get on Thais's bad side just as much as me" He said with a laugh.

Sarren nodded, seeing the dismiss in his stance she laughed a little.
"Well good.. have we switched to English?" She asked softly. "Damn. I don't really know how to turn it off usually I get stuck speaking French or Spanish for quite a while then suddenly I'll start speaking English again." She looked a little closer at him and frowned. "You sir, need to sleep." She said sternly, taking on her doctorial role.

User Image Falene, though her ears perked up at hearing French, and then Spanish, which she didn't understand, she could understand most of what they said. The accent was terrible, as hers would be if she knew English she was sure, "La langue francaise n'est rien comme l'espagnol-" [French is nothing like Spanish-] she said shortly, before she even realized that her voice almost sounded rude. She sucked in a gulp of air and covered her mouth with a hand. Instead of actually admitting that she had been short with him, she adverted her eyes for a moment to breathe, almost slave-like, not meeting the eyes, and then she looked back at the two who seemed unnervingly flocked around her. Hours ago she knew no one but Thais that spoke French and suddenly she was surrounded. She wasn't sure what was worse, not speaking to anyone or not speaking to anyone and then being bombarded with people who want to speak with you. She wasn't really bombarded but after months of silence, it felt that way. Her eyes passed between the couple for a moment before she spoke very softly, "Je suis Falene..." [I'm Falene,] She was very humble in almost everything she did, like a servant girl would be, but for different reasons. Her reason was because the language barrier created a handicapped. She was very submissive, much unlike her savior Thais. Thais pretended she didn't even remember the day she saved Falene, but Falene remembered.

[OOC: Some of this doesn't actually translate well, but it's because I don't have a "French keyboard" lol No foreign characters and, I'm sorry, I don't feel like going, searching the symbols to copy and paste them to make it 100% accurate... You'll just have to take my word that it would be correct French had I taken up more time lol: ]

((I know the basics of french but I cant spell them or anything, so i'll stick to underlining them!))

Sarren spun and smiled.
"True, Spanish and French are very different. But they are both romance languages..." She said with a broad smile. She giggled at Falene's sudden guilt. "The matter at hand is, Thais sent me over here to get acquainted with you. You see, I'm a doctor. And if I'm to stay I suppose you're going to be my right hand man... er.. woman." She gave a tender smile, that showed she meant no harm. She addressed Falene's face as well. more exhausted. "These people... are going to kill them selves if they don't sleep!" She blushed realizing she had spoken aloud and in french. but what she said was true.

Chaz just waved away her suggestion again, meaning that he wasn't tired. He didn't need sleep. He was as good as any person, ready and waiting. So her name is Falene..."Un si beau nom" (Such a beautiful name) Chaz said to Falene and smiled faintly at her. Somehow, he felt he was making her uncomfortable. He felt uncomfortable, so he rubbed the back of his head, and adverted his gaze from Falene's. Sarren said something about being exhausted. He rolled his eyes and sighed at her notion. "Je n'ai pas besoin de sommeil" (I don't need sleep)

User Image At the mention of the other girl being a doctor, Falene immediately felt protective over her acquired position in the group. But that would render me completely useless! Now not only do I not understand their language or customs but I have become only a nurse! Her eyes grew glassy with the agonizing thoughts. Falene didn't think she was much help to the group besides what she did already, and that was now overshadowed. Her eyes were on the girl with a really Bambi-expression, terrified. I will be the right-hand girl now? I was always the first hand! Her cheeks gave some color from frustration and perhaps a little fear. She slid from the counter, looking at the girl's hands, and made an attempt to make the other feel a little less sure of herself, only a small jab to make herself feel a little more important, "Vos mains sont sales..." [Your hands are filthy...] her voice was low and almost scolding, as she reached the the girl's hands, tugging them away from her and over a bucket and poured water over them and she scrubbed them roughly, if not hurriedly. It was more panic that took over.

While she was doing this, she heard Chaz talk. She paused for a moment from scrubbing the girl's hands, not daring look at him. And then she did only to see him looking another direction. She brought her eyebrows together, eyes growing wider and she looked back to concentrate on what she was doing, scrubbing under the girl's fingernails as well, giving her the full treatment. A lady should not keep dirtied nails, she thought. Though this could be seen as a display of kindness, Falene was doing it because she was intimidated. After several moments she poured more water over the girl's hands to wash away the reddish black water into the bucket, and over hers as well. She reached for a towel to dry her hands on and then draped it over the girl's, motioning for her to do the same. She stood up straight and crossed her arms over her chest, "Alors vous etes ici pour prendre mon poste, puis, madame..?" [So you are here to take my position then, miss..?] She spoke a little stronger French now, more proud.. or defensive.. as she inquired the girl's name again, pretending she couldn't remember it. It was a strange name, none that she had ever heard before. Probably some American name, they're always making up new and nontraditional ones...

He looked back at Falene, and saw her cleaning Sarren's hands. "Vous n'avez pas à le faire. Je suis sûr qu'elle est une grande fille."(You don't have to do that, i'm sure she is a big girl). He said that for Sarren to take the incentive to do it herself. Chaz just shook his head and looked at Sarren. "Elle ne prendra pas votre position, je peux vous le garantir. D'aprÚs ce que j'ai compris plus tÎt, elle sera de travailler avec vous" (She won't take your position, I can guarantee that. From what I understood earlier, she'll be work with you.) He told her.

User Image Yet again Falene brought her eyes to look at Chaz, "Je serais certainement esperer que non. La profession infirmiere est tout ce que j'ai. Pourtant, les implications ..." [I certainly hope not. Nursing is all I have. Still, the implication...] Her voice began as before, falsely strong and proud, but when she spoke of implications, it softened immensely. Her eyes flickered to the ground and back up to Chaz, and then toward Sarren. Her position was still threatened, even if they were meant to work together. Who was to say that she couldn't do it all herself. Sure, having a nurse would help, but would it help enough? Would a nurse help enough that they could afford to feed an extra mouth?

Chaz shoved his hands in his pocket and met his eyes with Falene's, before she looked away. "Je ne voudrais pas vous inquiétez pas en ce moment. La seule chose que nous avons à vous soucier de survivre." (I wouldn't worry about it right now. The only thing we have to worry about is survive.) He told her, hoping to give her a little bit of faith that her job wasn't going to be taken.

"Are you... ok?" She asked Falene softly. When Falene grabbed her hands and pulled her to the bucket Sarren yanked back. She hated being touched as it was. She hated her hands being cleaned but she was afraid that Falene might try to break her hands if she pulled away. To her it was obvious that Falene wasn't doing this to be kindly. She was doing it to be rude, to jab at Sarren's feelings, and it hurt a little bit. She frowned trying to remember to force out the words that she 'could do it herself'. Sarrens finger nails were long and jagged, they desperately needed to be manicured. The pinky nail had been broken in half down the middle. Once Falene was finally done Sarren took a small step back, hating the initial contact the other woman offered. 'Jesus Mary and Joseph!' She thought scornfully, a want to run away into the wilderness crept up into her throat. But these people might NEED her right? If something happened that a nurse might not know how to deal with? What if Falene was injured and no one knew how to help her. These thoughts nearly masked everything else as she watched the attractive woman's reactions.

Working her reaction out in her mind, Sarren dried her own hands and gave a very gentle touch to Falene's shoulder. In a very tender voice she said "A doctor is only as good as their nurse. I'm not good for most things, not to mention that I hate people." When asked for her name she smiled. It was a name from a book her mother had read, it was African. Meaning Small Hunter. Or Awkward Child. Sarren had picked it, as her parents didn't believe in naming their children. "And its Sarren." She listened to Falene falsely strong voice and frowned. "A doctor is nothing without a nurse." If this... Thais chose to extradite the french woman from the group because of her, Sarren would have none of it. if she had to vanish she would. "I'm sorry if I offended you"

User Image Falene's shoulder quivered at the touch, as though she wanted to pull away, afraid of the contact. She watched as Sarren spoke, trying to believe the words that came from her lips. It was true that a 'team' would be better than a lone doctor or a lone nurse, she just hoped the others could see that it was good enough. Falene, after hearing Sarren speak, hung her head, "J'espere que vous soyez precis," [I hope you are right,] she smiled for a change, but only a little, and very sadly. Falene made way to walk passed the two so that she was not cornered by her counter, taking up one of her blankets from the ground as she did. Timidly holding the blanket with both hands she turned to look at Sarren, her eyes glancing over Chaz as well, "Et c'est moi qui vous a offense, Sarren," [And it is I who has offended you, Sarren,] Taking a step backward, ducking her head in farewell, she whispered, "Pardon..." Before walking away from the two, being overwhelmed with her own thoughts and their spoken ones, as well. The fire pit inside the barn smoldered and looked like a perfectly chilly spot to spend the night, her slumber having been interrupted, and her 'bedroom' currently crowded by two French-speaking Americans. At least she thought they were Americans... Works for me... Wrapping the blanket around herself, she sat down near the embers, laying down and waiting for morning.

[OOC: A time-skip to morning soon? Perhaps? Feels like it's been nighttime for a few weeks now lol]

Chaz nodded to Falene. He looked to Sarren and rubbed one eye, a mistake he cursed himself with. He told himself he wasn't tired, and he believed it. His body, however, betrayed him. Before Sarren could say anything, he told her, "I'm heading out on patrol to keep watch" He said a hustled out the door, leaving Falene and Sarren behind.

(OOC: Up to you, im gonna go fall asleep in the dirt lol maybe, i'm gonna remain outside all night)

Warren found herself somewhere to lean and slept standing up, out of habit her hand on her blade. She wasn't all that tired. Having woken up later then usual, and a brush with death had bumped her adrenaline up.

((Time skip would be nice I don't known what else to do with this.))
