He moved his head back from her slightly, "I'm Shaitani," he said through pursed lips. He stared at this energetic cub curiously a moment before shifting himself, "I was going to explore a little bit - I want to see the desert." He returned to hiding under his facade, replacing the sly look on his face. He wagged his tail, the feather shaking behind him. "If you want to come, you can."

"Nah. I don't want to walk that far. Knowing me I would get lost." Nola said as she stood up and looked after the grown males. "I might go and watch them though..." She then paced a little to the side. She really didn't want to get lost again. The next place she might stumble into could be much more nasty then this place...her new home. "Be careful if you do go to the dessert. It would be sad if we lost a pride member so soon." and with that she trotted off in the direction that the grown up had gone.

Shaitani huffed, stodd, and turned away, beginning his journey to the desert. "If you won't trust me, I haven't a reason to trust you either then," he muttered, moving away from the cave. The desert was one area he tried to avoid when he was wanderinng, but now that he had a home, he decided it was time to venture into the unknown. He trotted through the grass, determinded to find his way to the golden sands and brilliant sun he had heard so much about before his wanderings. They had interested him, but the horror stories he had heard made he stay away, knowing that there would be no one to find him if something bad happened. "I won't get hurt, though," he muttered to himself, glancing back to the retreating Nola, "I'm too strong for that to happen."

"See you at home then!" Nola called to him over her shoulder before scampering off. As she went through the grass that was still taller then she, the little lioness sniffed about and trailed Ling and the new male Nuri. Once she had to jump onto a large rock in order to make sure she could see them ahead of her.

"You never know, he may grow to be one of your better allies," Nuri chuckled encouragingly. He sniffed the air and knew that water was close. The sound of running water was faint, nearly covered by the soft whisp of grasses in the breeze. Then he heard the approach of cub feet. "Don't look now, but I think we have a stalker," he said quietly to Ling.

Shaitani plodded through the grass, noticing little patches of sand here nd there. He was satisfied as how quickly he was moving alog on his journey, and realized that Ling's pride must not be too large if he had traveled across it so quickly. It was then the he realized that he had been running the entire time, and that his limbs were beginning to tire. Trying to catch his breath, he stopped for a moment, sitting his aching body down, breathing heavily. "I'll just... rest a moment to... regain my energy." He swatter at the grass with his tail until his breathing slowed and the ache subsibed. He pulled his body up from the ground and continued forwar,d making sure not to run any longer.

Ling blinked and sighed. "a cub...correct?" He laughed and looked over his shoulder. "Nola...what are you doing? This is no place for kittens like you" he stopped in his walk and turned to face her. "Forgive me Nuri, I'll be but a moment."

"I want to watch you. If I am gonna help you I gotta learn. Besides its better then going to the deasert with the silly black kit...what was his name....Shaitani?" She looked at Ling wondering if she was going to get punished like she did in her old pride. "Am I in trouble?"

Ling shook his head. "No...you arn't in trouble.." he moved over ot her and gave her a light swat on the rear. "Just don't do this again. And what was it about Shaitani?" He heard her mention desert, he hoped he heard her wrong. He was starting to get a headache. 'food first..cub after' surely he'd have enough time to do both.

"He said he wanted to go explore the desert. He asked me to go with him but I wanted to follow you." Nola said with her ears drooping. she had done wrong again but at least it wasn't as bad as her father's punishments. "He took off at the same time as me but I think he was runnin."

His journey was much more enjoyable as he could look at the scenery as he traveled. He had never been to this end of the area, and found everything entertaining. He stopped for awhile to sunbathe on a rock before continuing onward, randomly chewing o blades of grass, making sure they weren't covered in sand. The patches were becoming more frequent, but he still only saw grassland ahead of him, even when he stood on higher ground to see how far he had to go. However, the cave was no longer visable to him, even when on top of rocks, so he knew he had traveled far.

Ling sighed, and looked back at Nuri. "It seems that the trials never cease.." He lowered his head and motioned for Nola to follow them. "keep close.." he moved forward then, they were near the lake, it was time to be quiet. He stalked along the grassland, trying his best not to snap any twigs.

Finding another outcrop of rock, shaitani screened his current surroundings once more. Far in the distance he could see the sun reflecting off of the glistening sand. He grinned, and lept off of the rock, running once more toward his goal. His excitment grew with every step, as did the intensity of the sun. It began to shine don on his back violently until he had to stop running with the risk of overheating. He coninued onward though, not getting discouraged. As long as he walked, the sun was not much of a bother to him.

Nuri smiled and shook his head. "One cub should be all right. But be careful and very quiet little one, an angry boar would not think twice about goring a cub." As he crept along, he tried to keep one eye on where they were going and one on Nola.

Ling moved on ahead, keeping ihs ears tuned to the sound of boar. He kept his head low to the ground, his body ready to strike should he need to. After awhile he spotted a few wild boar drinking at the lake's edge. He grinned and nodded back to the others. his paws kneaded the ground, as he stalked slowly forward.
