Matt entered central and looked around. All of the State Officials were busy and seemed slightly paranoid. He didn't quite understand it until Lt. Colonel Jenkins approached him and flashed a State Alchemist news letter.
"Only for high ranking officers." The Lt. Colonel said in a monotoned manner. He handed Matt the letter and chuckled. "Here you go....Ed...." A wide smile was on his face as he said these words, knowing that Matt was indeed not Ed.
Quickly Matt snatched the letter and read it carefully. "I gotta hand it to you Jenkins, you do have a way of getting me the top seceret files I enjoy looking at so much." He wispered and studied the news article. On the second page of the Local Section was a title that nearly put him in shock. "Scar?!" Matt shouted only to have his hand covered by the Lt. Colonel and then taken away to a spot away from any crouded areas.
Jenkins glared at him from under his shades, which to Matt seemed like a a calm stare. "Mind keeping it down? I could lose my job for shareing information with a Major..." He wispered. The Lt. snatched the lettered and raised an eyebrow when he read the death toll, "Oh, can't believe I missed that number." Jenkins said softly and then looked back to Matt.
Matt grumbled silently to himself and made sure none of the higher ranking officers got suspiscious. "Some of us may never understand that man." said Matt in a quiet tone as he turned his head back to Jenkins. For a moment they were silent and then Matt interrupted, "Say, the Furer isn't...mad at me for taking so long with my last mission is she?" He asked slightly embarrassed and worried.
The Lt. folded the news paper for what felt like an hour and then looked at Matt with a blank emotionless stare. "You better have a lot of paper work filled out. Your absence was easily noticed by a lot of us." Jenkins replied and then looked back out towards the croud of soldiers. Some fired their guns in practice while others fought hand to hand without the use of alchemy.
"Didn't my work in Cardathia reach her office?" Asked Matt. His chest buckled and he felt it harder to breath. Because of the way the Furer acted when one wasn't doing their business 'correctly' made him wish he was still gone. In his opinion he would rather wrestle a bull than deal with that women.
Jenkins looked at Matt, now showing a dissapointed look on his face, "Just because you helped liberate a small town from a terrorist group who wanted to declare themselves as a dictatorship doesn't mean crap. You're not Edward Elric so you're not going to be on the top of her list." The Lt. went silent for a moment and looked around before removing his shades. He stared back at Matt and continued, "You're a good young soldier but that doesn't mean you can go about your own business. You pull too many strings and you almost got your a** kicked out of the State if it weren't for the now former Furer." He breathed on the lens of his shades and then placed them back on his face. "She's getting fed up with you Matt. As much as she enjoys your company, you were everybody down when you play us like puppets to get what you're looking for. Everybody knows the way you work."
All was silent until Matt let out a sigh of dissapointment in himself. Matt simply shrugged his shoulders and slowly slid his hands in his pockets before walking off to the head office. "Guess I'll just face the music." He wispered to Jenkins and salued before continueing towards the main building.
Jenkins smiled painfuly and then let his smile fade into his normal calm stare. "Good luck kid. With you're luck you'll find a way to get out of this entanglement." He wispered to himself and then walked in the opposite direction of the Forge Alchemist.

The scream of what sounded like to be a women was quickly ended by a bone chilling gargle of one drownding in their own blood. When civilians approached the area in which the scream had originated from, they noticed the body of a dead female State Alchemist. The women covered their mouths in the fear of throwing up while the men stood in horror.
There were only two witnesses who claimed they saw a man dressed in black pants, a tan jacket, a white shirt, a pair of shades, and a scar shaped like an X on his face; was around the area moments before the murder. When the people tried to evacuate they bumped into State Officials who arrived emediatly at the scene.
Women cried and then men backed away with their mouths gaped open. Non of the civilians had seen a murder of a State Alchemist on their own home land. But within moments every civilian near the crime scene were escorted away from the area by State soldiers as the officials from the detective branch investigated the dead victim.
Colonel Roy Mustang had arrived not a moment later and walked up to the lead detective. "No doubt about it sir, It's Scar's work alright." The officer said calmly and turned around to continue the investigation.
The look on Roy's face was completly blank. He coudln't believe that Scar would murder a State Alchemist so close to the Head Quarters. With that, Roy called Riza at his side and then the two evacuated themselves from the scene to notify the Furer.

Matt was silent for a moment. It was the first time she didn't curse him out. To him it seemed it must have been the sun that caused her to be so kind for what seemed to him, to be the first time in her life. "Ahhhh...Nope!" He shouted, still remaining in his stance. As much as he would like to be of help, he was one of the lower ranks so him knowing more than her would cause suspicion. Then again people knew he, himself, knew more than many others out there.
That's when Colonel Roy approached Kasumi and sighed. "Furer..." He looked at Matt and almost mistakened him for Ed but refrained from saying a word to him. Quickly the Flame Alchemist faced Kasumi and again and saluted her before continueing, "I have some urgent news. It's about our...friend." Even though Roy probably knew Matt found out about Scar some how, he looked at him as if the Forge Alchemist had no idea what was going on.
All was silent, Matt looked around, until Matt had cought the glare Roy was giving him. With a soft sigh Matt snapped his feet together, saluted the Colonel and walked away from the two as they chatted.
When Matt had left Roy looked around to see if any one else of lower ranks were around and then made a grimace stare at Kasumi. "Scar killed another...Lieutenant Mariza Madaline. Her body was found along first St. and 2nd. Two witnesses described Scar perfectly and the killing of the officer was no different than his usual." The Colonel remained still and waited for her reply.

Riza intterupted, "Ma'am, Scar has already killed enough people. Don't you think it would be the right time to put this action of yours to good use." The Colonel meanwhile stood in silence as he watched both the Furer and his first Lieutenant speak back and forth.
*******************************************
Matt walked by himself towards Central library when he noticed Jenkins burst out of nowhere and nearly spook the living s**t out of him. "Crap man! Grrrrr now is not the time to do that around me." He wispered and then look at the Lt. Colonel who seemed to have a worried look on his face. "What is it?" asked Matt.
Jenkins sighed. "I just recieved a roomer of the Furer putting many of the State Alchemists on break until Scar is delt with." He replied. The look on Matt's face was now priceless as his mouth gaped open and he became speachless. "Yeah, I know. You would think Kasumi wouldn't be afraid of a guy like that but she's definetly afraid of something." He continued, "And unfortunitly most likely the lower ranking State Alchemists will be put on break first...that means you Forge."
After a moment of rewording Jenkin's speach in his head Matt replied, "Damn him. What gives Scar the right to kill people of the military?" With a grimace Matt sighed and continued, "Well I guess the good thing is he may not touch anybody who is on break so there will be less deaths. Although I am sure that there has to be a couple let behind to protect the Furer."
The Lt. nodded. "Most lilely Roy, and some other high ranking officers will remain on duty. Atleast Roy will be happy..." Jenkins tried to cheer up the situation, "The Colonel wont have to deal with so much paper for a while." He spoke, imitating Roy's voice.
Matt grunted at the pathetic attemp and shook his head. He slowly slid his right hand into his pant pocket and pulled out his State Alchemist Pocket Watch. As he stared at it he let out a silent sigh and looked up into the sky to see the clouds above moving softly with the help of the wind. "To think that one man could cause the military so many problems." He wispered, pocketed the pocket watch, and then started to walk towards the Library.
***********************************
Scar watched Central's Library entrance from a distance. His body hidden in the shadows as he used binoculars to survey the target. That's when his eyes widdened, he noticed a familiar looking person. "Fullmetal?" He said softly to himself. "No it can't be, he doesn't have blond hair." Scar added and watched the alchemist enter the building.
Something didn't feel right. He looked over at the Furer who was busy speaking with Roy. He thought to himself, 'And to think, I was so close to killing that women. God must have bigger plans for you. Either way Furer, you will die by my hands.'
Other State Alchemists were now gathering at Central Head Quarters. It must have been close to dinner time because lines of small four door passenger cars were heading towards the front gates and procceding to the front of the main office, to unload their passengers. The arrival of all of the Alchemists, earlier than usual, sparked his interest. He had to find a way to find exactly what was going on.

Lieutenant Riza had been standing quiet long enough. The total silence between Roy and the Furer was going on long enough. "Ma'am with all do respect. Scar has killed too many of us as it is. I think you should put your plan into motion, atleast occording to my opinion." She looked towards Roy for perhaps an acknowledgement.
Mustang nodded, "I agree ma'am. We can't just get him the old fassion way. If you have plan, lets put it in action."
As Kasumi walked away Hughes burst into the one on one convo that Riza and Roy were busy at. "Just think Mustang. If the Furer dies, we'll all get promotions!" He smiled but let it quickly fade when he noticed the blank stare of hatred, given to him by Riza. "I was kidding...Of corse it would be a bad idea for Furer to go by herself, she could use some help." Hughes wispered.
Riza sighed softly and began to walk towards the front office. Roy and Hughes followed the two as they went to continue their conversation else where.
***********************************************
Matt entered the Central Library and looked around. In his mind he was thinking of a certain book entitled 'Rocks and Minerals' which was a book in which only the highest of alchemists had access to. As he approached the back of the building he had located the book and studied it.
Slowly he pulled out an envelope which had the key hidden inside. The same key that Jenkins had given him. While he approached the book he raised an eyebrow and looked down at the key then at the book. Quietly he attempted to pull the book out but only the top half of the book came out. The book tipped towards him and suddenly a panel just next to his mid section, on the right, had slid out. Matt stared at the panel for a moment and then noticed the flat board on the side, he noticed a slot in the center of the side and relised the key obviously went in there.
He slid the key in and rotated then he waited for a couple of moments. It was quiet, but suddenly a soft noise could be heard as one entire section of the shelf pulled back and then slid inside to the left. Matt entered the next large room and all around him were more shelves.
When he was fully inside the door slid back into place and soon cut him off from the outside world. The Forge Alchemist was now in a classified section of the State's library, to be cought would cause him to be court martialed and probably placed in a prison some where away from civilization. However, Matt was too deep to turn back, he had to keep going and find out more.
Soon the alchemist began to search around the large room, bairly lit up by two lights over head which only lit up a half of the room combined, leaving large areas deep in the shadows. Book shelves were all over the place, making it seem more like a library of it's own. He continued searching for books, pulling out one, skimming through it, and moving to the next. None of which had the contents he desired to know about. Matt began to grumble to himself at the failed to attempt to help, given by Jenkins.
That's when the alchemist noticed an odd character in the back of the room. His body was completly covered in shadows but the out line of his body was noticeable. The shadows gave him a silluette appearence, Matt wasn't sure to be scared or if it was Jenkins. However, he noticed the figure begin to move and soon felt the gaze of the person upon himself.
The figure began to walk forward. "Edward Elric..." wispered a males voice.
Matt shook his head, "Sorry, wrong person pal. I'm Matt Edison. The Forge Alchemist, not Fullmetal." He froze when noticing the figure continue to approach Matt.
"A State Alchemist none the less..." Said the voice, slowing threatening the Alchemist.
The alchemist's eyes slowly widdened as the figure's face came into the light given off by one of the lights over head. A scar shaped like an X was on his face and he had gray hair, wearing a pair of shades, it was then Matt relised who this man was. Slowly he tried to walk back but bumped into a book shelf, feeling it tip over and then fall back; the alchemist following the large object.
Scar was now standing almost over Matt and attempted to place his hand on the alchemist's head, but Matt quickly rolled to the left and tried to run towards the end of the room. Before Matt could get far, Scar slammed the palm of his hand onto the solid floor, causing an earth quake which cracked the ground and tripped Matt.
When Matt pulled hismelf up and turned around, he went into shock; noticing Scar nearly right ontop of him yet again. The killer tried another attemp to place his hand on Matt only the victim quickly raised his arm and blocked his hand. Scar's palm now resting on Matt's lower arm. Before Scar relised it he activated his ability and shredded the cloth that covered his arm. Later finding out that Matt's left arm was metalic.
Matt quickly attempted to kick Scar and ran for a large hole in the wall that was obviously created by the killer. He ran in fear for his life, never did the Forge Alchemist feel so scared in his life. Matt could only hope that Scar wasn't hot on his tail.
