Ezra Schlehuber As the two neared the cabin, Ezra was surprised to see it had completely changed. Was this what Gil wanted to show him? It was incredible. "Doesn't look like a lumberjack's cabin to me." "He must have done a lot of renovating." With his magic, no doubt. Looking around, Ezra tilted his head. Where was Gil anyway? Felix gave a hiss in a direction and Ezra chuckled. Well, now he knew where to look. "Gil?"

EngillGil was wary of Sophia. Not timid, he certainly was never that, but...wary. He wasn't sure how the woman would respond to him. But Ezra was very close to her so she must be trustworthy and pleasant for a human. She was a little younger than he'd expected her to be, with features probably considered very pretty to human eyes he thought. Was that why Ezra was fond of her? For some reason that thought rankled though he didn't know why it should. He stepped out from where he'd be virtually hiding until given away by the cat. He'd wanted to observe Ezra's reaction to the house. Lumberjack's cabin...Is that what the youth had told Sophia he was? A lumberjack? It was as good a cover as any if he couldn't tell this woman the truth. "Hello, Ez" he greeted him with a warm smile. He looked to Sophia. He held his hand out - that was how humans greeted one another, right? They held out a hand. "I'm pleased to meet you, Sophia. I'm Engill. You may call me Gil." He glanced back at Ezra. "I told you I had a surprise for you. I've had the cabin...remodeled. Well...replaced. I hope you like it. I thought it would be more comfortable for you. Come on in, put your things in your room and I'll make us some rosehip tea."

Ezra Schlehuber Ezra smiled at Gil, happy to see him. So, he had changed the cabin. For him? Ezra felt honored, but he hoped it wasn't too much trouble. "Sophia Fourier. I've heard quite a lot about you, Engil. Ezra seems to be very fond of you. You must be pretty special to win him over so easily." Ezra blushed a bit before heading for the new cabin. "Where...is my room?"

EngillGil smiled at the woman though it was merely a polite one, not the warm lazy smile he gave Ezra. "Your room is the top floor, Ez. I hope it's okay. Feel free to change it anyhow you like to suit" he told him. He turned his attention back to Sophia, quirking a brow at her words. Ez was fond of him? He wasn't merely a pleasant and opportune escape from his thoughtless and worthless parents? He knew the boy liked him of course, he'd not be here now with cat and baggage if he didn't like him, but he would not have used the word fond. "I am fond of Ez, too, and I tolerate few people" he replied. "Come to the kitchen, I'll make us that tea." He led the way indoors to the kitchen and set a kettle to boil. It still seemed a little odd to him to use the appliance rather than setting a pan on a fire but he could not deny its convenience.

Ezra Schlehuber Ezra nodded headed upstairs to get his things down and help Felix adjust to the new room. As he did so, Sophia glanced at Gil and followed him. She was also giving him a polite smile, with little other emotion. Taking a seat, she looked around before closing her eyes. "I hope you won't take this in an offensive manner, but as the parential figure in his life, I have to ask. What exactly are your intentions with him? I trust you're not a pervert hoping to have his way with him, or after some of his fortune?"

EngillIt was a natural and obvious question and one Engill had anticipated. He would have thought less of the human woman if she had not inquired. The right approach would have been just to offer a sincere verbal reassurance. But Engill as ever did not hold back his intentions, emotions or reality. The first thing he did was to wave a hand over the kitchen counter and materialize a small pile of gold coins. He smiled at her then spread his wings wide. "I'm his Guardian Angel" he replied. "And a virgin so you needn't be concerned about his welfare with me."

Ezra Schlehuber Sophia stared at the pile of coins that Gil had conjured. Her eyes narrowed a bit. She wasn't angry. If anything, she looked concerned. Growing up, she was taught that angels appeared before those who were close to death. Though she didn't believed it, that was the first thing her mind came to. She prayed that it wasn't a true legend, and just some propaganda spread by morons. "I don't know what being virgin has to do with being a peevert. Virgins are possible the worst perverts out there. Yet, I can see you mean Ezra no harm." She looked down. "Then I can trust you to take care of Ezra....He may not seem like it, always trying to be tough, but little Ezra is such a sensitive boy. Though, I'm sure you've already figured that out."

Engill"Take the money. I doubt Ezra's parents pay you well and I suspect you will be out of a job when they discover he is gone" Gil told her. He set a cup of rosehip tea in front of her and took a seat. "I do not believe I have ever heard of an angel pervert. We are not able to enter into relations with someone unless there is a very strong bonding. And breaking that bond...well, I will not tell you what the consequences of that can be. You need not know of such things. But yes, you can be sure I will take great care of the young human. I know he is more frail emotionally that he will show. Shall we go and see how he likes his room?"

Ezra Schlehuber Sophia shook her head. "I'll do well on my own. Though they may not be as wealthy as Ezra's are, my parents have the money. I'll stay with them until I can find another form of income. Maybs I'll go back to waitressing, or see if I can go back to school for my nursing degree. Please, keep your money. I was never one for charity anyway." She smiled before sipping her tea. It was great! Gil was a talented brewer. "I think that would be best. I'll need to be leaving soon, and I don't want to leave without saying anything to him."

EngillGil smiled and nodded. "Very well. Though it's not charity if that is your concern, more compensation as I am the reason you will lose your job." He waved a hand and made the money simply vanish again. He had no real use for it. "You go on up and have a few moment alone with him" he suggested and sipped his tea. "I'll come on up shortly."

Ezra Schlehuber Sophie stood and thanked Gil for giving her a few moments alone with Ezra before heading upstairs. She found Ezra laying on the bed, looki g half asleep. Felix was already out. Chuckling, she went over and sat on the edge of the bed, moving some hair from Ezra's face. "Why do you insist on moving my hair so much?" "Because it makes you ask such silly questions. Anyway....I have to leave here soon. Be sure to call or write sometimes, okay?" "I will. Promise." Sophia smiled at him before leaning down to kiss his forehead and then left. Ezra was going to miss her, but he could always contact her somehow if he started missing her too much. Turning on his side, he pet Felix softly as the cat slept. Gil had gone through a lot to make the house more...modern.

EngillWhen Sophia came downstairs Gil said goodbye to her and showed her to the door, assuring her she was welcome to visit Ezra when she wished. He washed up the teacups and put them away before going to the woodstore to fetch Cloud. The bird was asleep so he picked up the grass filled box and carried it carefully upstairs. He tapped on Ezra's door. "Ez? It's Gil. Sophia just left. I've brought Cloud up to you" he told him through the door and waited for a response.

Ezra Schlehuber Ezra looked at the door before gettin up and going over. "How is he? I bet you took really good care of him." He smiled before sitting on the bed again. "So, what did you and Sophia say to each other?"

EngillGil handed over the large cardboard box with the sleeping bird. "He's fine. He's tired out from running around outside" the angel replied. He sat down on the edge of the bed. "I hope you like the room and the house. Let me know if I did something wrong and we'll put it right. I think I did everything okay. It's taken some getting used to. I'll be honest. I've got a small shelter in the woods still for when I feel too overwhelmed by this place! Sophia seems pleasant. She asked me my intentions and warned me to take care of you. I told her I'm your Guardian Angel and she left reassured. I told her she's welcome to visit you whenever."

Ezra Schlehuber Ezra took the box gently and peeked in, smiling at the tiny Chocobo. They really were so cute! He looked up at Gil before setting the box down and removing the lid so Cloud could have light. "Intentions?...Oh, no....I'm sorry if she made you uncomfortable. She just worries, you know?"
