Regius looked down at his sister and smiled, chasing the shadows out of his eyes. He would always have family in his sisters and mother. If his father didn't want to be a part of it... He shook his head and dropped from the tree to nuzzle Tenari in greeting. "Did you know that our father has other kits, by his true queen?" He asked, keeping the question light like he was happy about it.

Tenari nuzzled her brother back, eyes going empty for a moment. She tried to sense her father, and noted the smaller levels of energy near him.
"So he has..." Tena mewled, unsure how to feel about it. "What do you think of it all, brother?"
Inati appeared out of the high grasses, a rather secretive smile on her muzzle. "And tell us the truth, brother dearest... I'm quite sure you aren't thrilled at the idea of new cubs."
She gave a stretch and an exagerated yawn. "I'm sure I don't know what to think about it all.. Mother will probably want to return to wandering, just so we aren't disrupting the happy family..."
She made a face.

Regius laughed at the look on Inate's face. "You're right, Ina. I don't like it. I don't like it at all that we will be competing with them for our fathers attention." He shook his head before nosing Tena again. "You haven't seen them yet, but they aren't that different from us." He began to explain the two girls and two girls that he saw, then he frowned. "If Mother will want to leave... what will the two of you do?"

Tenari frowned. "I don't think it would be a competition for attention, Regius.. Mother never makes us compete for her attention..."
She glanced at her sister for confirmation, nuzzling her brother for reassurance.
Inati nodded as her brother replied.
"Oh, they aren't?" She wrinkled her nose. "I doubt the lads could be as handsome as you brother dearest, even mother has said you shall break hearts..."
She considered the idea of wandering. "I don't know Regius.. What are you planning to do, should mother wander?"

Regius smiled sadly. "I don't know what I will do, should mother choose to leave." He doubted his ability to break hearts, now that the pride had true princes. "We could carve a home here, or wander with Mother." He laughed for a moment, a short suprised brust of sound. "Or we could wander on our own, I suppose." He turned to Tenari. "I know that we don't have to compete for mothers attention. It's fath-- Talcorin's that we never get."

Tenari gave a soft squeek of a comment. "Perhaps, we have not given our sire enough of a change to get to know us?"
She ducked her head shyly. "Though, if he doesn't care for us as much as he does the other children, then it would cost us nothing to leave."
Inati nodded. "I am not sure I want to stay or go yet, I suppose it would depend on whether mother wishes to leave, yes? Although, I wouldn't mind wandering at one point or another... It seems to be an interesting way to live, and I imagine you learn a lot.."

"We have given Talcorin chances, but he has not even tried to be a father to us. we can only try so hard..." He said, glancing back at the hidden den, wondering his their sire could hear them. "We may gain a great deal of knowledge if we wander... but at what cost?" He sighed, shaking his head.

"Cost?" Inati echoed. "What do you mean by that, brother dearest? Would it be such a burden to leave these Pride Lands?"
She was already beginning to display her mother's wandering spirit, and didn't really feel as if she would miss the Pride Lands.
Tenari nodded, agreeing with her brother's words. There was only so much they could do, they were just cubs. She glanced around the Pride Lands. "I've wandered.. Its fun, you meet many other lions."

"Yes, you meet many lions. Many and more, but you have no home to go to." He chook his head, conflicted. He wanted to roam. To have no ties to anyone, but he did have ties. He had his sisters, his mother, and, to some extent, his father. Could he just leave them? He paced slightly away from his sisters for a moment. "I will follow the path that is laid before me..." He murmured softly, eyes closed. He could feel the earth, the kits in the den, his mother and he knew was his decision must be.

Tenari glanced at her brother, and then her sister. "I shall wait until mother decides, but I do believe wandering would suit me, at least for a time..."
Inati nodded. "It is no great thing for me to leave this Pride, it is not Home.. Merely a place to stay until we move on to the next part of our Journey, whatever that may be."

"Whatever our decisions are, if we are allowed to make them, of course, things will work as they are meant to." He replied, turning back to his sisters with a playful grin on his face. "But until those decisions are made, race you to the river!" He took off back in the direction of the river, passing the den on the way. He looked inside, sparing a thought for his father. I hope you know what you are doing, Talcorin. We may bare your markings, be of your line, but you will lose all of us if you don't. He raced past the den towards the river.

Inati gave a screech of laughter and hauled after him as fast as she could, laughing in delight. She really had little care for anything beyond her siblings and mother. As long as they were all well, she would move wherever she had to.
Tenari laughed and pounced after her elder siblings, flickering into nothingness and back again.
"No fair! Head start Reg!" She called, running as fast as she could. "That's cheating! Princes shouldn't do that!"

Regius laughed, racing ahead and enjoying the feel of the wind through his fur. "Aww, but Tena, didn't you know? Cheating is what princes do best!" He called back, tone light with humor. He leaped over a fallen log and, for a moment, was airborne over a small dip in the ground. Reg made a suprised yip before he landed. He staggered a bit, but with a glance back at his sisters, he picked up his speed again. No matter what happens, with or without father, we are family and will forever be. He thought.

Venati looked up from her kill with a smile, listening to the sound of her children's laughter. To her, there was no sweeter sound in this world. The stars dance would always hold a special place inside her, but her children's joy was just as dear.
Tena laughed and shook her head. "Only a dark Prince would say something like that! I don't believe it for an instant!"
With that, she gave a whip of her tail and doubled her effort, slowly gaining on her swift sibling.
Inati was rather surprised to see how well Tenari was growing up. When she was younger, the white kitten could barely stand the sunlight, and now she was slowly gaining on her older siblings!
"Faster Reg!" Ina shrieked, and lengthened her stride. "She's catching up!"

Regius laughed and glanced back at his sisters. "She'll have to do better then that to catch up with--" He ended with a startled yelp as the ground disappeared under his feet. He tumbled head first done the hill, landing on his back with a groan. "--me..."
