Cayimmi remained sleeping like a stone, even though Kila's stirrings shook him as well. It seemed that not even an earthquake would wake the cub, so emerged on his recovering sleep he didn't move when Benoni carefully took him to Ayana's side. A rather tiring day, a long night of sleep.

Nodding his head, Benoni rose to his paws. Shaking out his coat, he watched Kila closely as he followed after her. His eyes swept over those within the cave, it was calm, Benoni noted that Niobe had yet to join them once more, his eyes flickered over Ayana for a second longer than the others. Nodding his head to his own silent thoughts, Benoni padded out of the cave, he awaited Kila to join him at his side.

Ayana watched him leave and let out a soft sigh to herself, looking down at nothing in particular. She blinked and looked back to the enterance where a small white figure had apeared. She recognized it immediatly and groaned. It was the little white mouse who had been following her since they left Red Rain. It squeaked and ran up to the lioness, nuzzling itself under her paw.

As soon as she was far enough from hearing distance from the den she sat on her haunches and looked at the stars. "I have had nightmares of my past, ever since I was a cub." she explained. "My family, my old pride lived in lands where it rained in the springs more than any other place I have ventured to. One day it rained as usual but it didn't quit. It rained through thr night, the den was filling with water, the next day it quit for awhile but started again and soon the river was flowing over. The lands sucumbed to the water, we couldn't leave the den for the rain was hitting to hard and knocked us off our feet every five seconds the cubs, including my sister were washed away. The lions that stayed in the den were drowned as the water filled to the top, I as well as the other cubs was washed away but I climbed up an Acacia tree to survive. It rained for four days...after that everything was demolished and everything I ever knew was gone." she sighed deeply as she started trembling thinking about all of the left over bodies, including her mother.

He stood not to far behind her, at her sad tale. His ears flattened against his head, his heart cried for her. Coming up beside her he sighed. "Kila, I am sorry to hear such a sad thing has happened to you." He rubbed his head under her chin softly.
"I wish I knew the things that would make the pain ease, I sadly do not." He closed his eyes, a corpse flashed before him, a familiar scent, he cringed softly, his head rose up as his eyes opened.
" My mother is dead as well...as fate would see it." He shook his head. His tail soon found hers and curled around it. He hoped to soothe the lioness beside him, it pained him to know she was hurting.

"Its only one of the many things that pain my heart, Benoni. You shouldn't tend to them so much." she looked to him sympathetically, "I'm sorry about your mother." She found herself feeling safe for one of the first times in many. She cuddled next to him and buried her face into his mane, trying to ease his bad mood aswell.

He glanced down, the dark tenderals of his mane mingled into her bright coat, the black fading into white into her rainbow. He sighed. " I cant help it, Kila. Your a member of my pride, a close and dear friend already." He wrapped an over-sized paw around her and sighed. " Dont be sorry about my mother." He said, his tone gruff about the subject. That would be Niobe's story to tell, not his.

She looked up to him, "Never in a million years have I ever thought I could feel this way again." Her eyes watering a bit as she looked at him, her unusual smaller form wrapped in his paw. "I feel safe, again. And for that I thank you, dear Benoni."

He only nodded his head, he purred and nuzzled her cheek. "Then I am happy." He licked her cheek, pulling himself away from her he rose to his paws and stretched a moment. "Come, and lets catch some sleep. Or would you be happiest sleeping here under the stars?"

She purred as he nuzzled her, her tail flickered as she rose sat upon her haunches and looked to the stars as her ears fluttered back and forth, "I would hate to keep you from your pride..." she blinked. "My king."

" Its fine, We're close enough to keep it from harm." He wanted to make sure she was comfortable. Nightmares could kill lions, the images could haunt one for all of its life. When she called him, her king, a swelling emotion ran through him as he pressed his nose to her cheek. " Where do you want to be Kila?"

She purred at his warm touch and glanced to him, "What do you mean?" Her azure eyes were still bright even in the darkness, her ears flickered towards him.

" In life, to slumber.." He wasnt sure himself really, the question just bypassed his thoughts and slipped out. He nipped at her ear softly, his eyes roamed over the land, as the sun slowly began to rise over the darkness.
" Niobe didnt return last night.." he muttered to himself, his ears flicked backwards. He wondered how the stranger was fairing with his sister.

Her tail flickered anxiously, "I will be here until, well forever if thats what you mean. I don't plan on leaving this pride, nor you." she nipped back at his mane playfully. "Niobe," she started to get worried for the lioness that she had first met before joining, "She'll be fine won't she?" concern filled her and her emotion expressed it. She usually tried to lock them and hide them bit for some reason she wasn't.

"Yes, She'll be fine. She is strong." He purred as he nipped at her chest softly. "I am glad I wont be losing you anytime soon. It would pain me greatly." he butted his head against her shoulder as he padded farther up ahead, he might as well prowl the land in the early morning light.
