Nadira stared blankly at the dragon, still shaken from yet more bad news.
"King Toleranth?" She shook her head, " I can't believe this, your right, Lord Vermillion must be found immediatly." She spun around, looking for a servant, before she remmembered banishing them all from her sight upon arrival to their own quarters. "Blast, well as I've said, I believe him to be among the civilians from this afternoon, but I cannot say for sure, since I left quite a while ago." She dug ner nails into the palms of her hand, " What do you think I should do as far as the Queen is concerned, should she be rescued it would have to be discreetly... (Faith: Plus I need her there right now XP) The fires in the temple? Are you positive, whoever has done this has commited a crime so terrible that they would be immediatly put to death... And those fires can not be lit by any normal means. Only by being touched by one with dark magic can they be lit again. This truly spells trouble for us all..."

(Btw, Not all harpies have the power of music, its a unique ability granted to a few of those blessed with the power of their angelic lineage. Most harpies have control only over the powers of their demonic lineage. For one granted with both sides would cause the death of that harpy because of the conflictin powers inside him, or her. (harpies are half demon, half human for those who are unaware) What I'm getting at is that if would be virtually impossible for one to be recognized in such a manner, and since Harpies are an isolated race any cousins would have to be either demonic, or angelic, and would be extremely distant. Not saying that its not possible, This is just an FYI since all the info on harpies is in my charcter profile)

"Vermillion is currently 2 blocks from here, and is making his way here. However, no visible movement other then for the fires being lit has been detected at the temple. Any attempts to penetrate the temple for further investigation ends in lost contact and a body being returned."

As to the Queen, you made yourself quite clear in your letter to the chief guard of Esperanza, she is not to be saved quite yet. Although the dungeon keeper is rather unintelligent, but smart in not letting spies past the first tier checkpoint.."

The messenger went silent for a minute, then a sudden paleness crept across his face, and he sat down.

"Nadira, we just had a really bad turn for the worst, King Toleranth just passed away sooner then expected."

A hot wave of sorrow washed over her features. She sagged a bit, and averted her gaze. Instead choosing to run her fingers across the intricately embroidered curtains.
A tear slipped down her cheek, as she squeezed her eyes closed for a brief moment.
"I don't know what I should do... Everything is falling down around my ears, and I can't to a damn thing to stop them." She murmured, pressing her hand to her mouth, as silent sobs wracked through her body.
Looking up at the messenger, she hurriedly composed herself, and took a deep, if rather shaky breath.
"Just now then? Well, you'd best go inform to Vermillion, and offer my sincerest condolences.
I'm going to write to the Empress of Houka, and let her know that the army that marches across her borders within the month is peaceful and that I will be there shortly to help with...arrangements..."

The messenger turned to walk tot he door when it pushed open and vermillion stood their surveying the scene. He looked at Nadiera and then to the messenger. "You needed to see me messenger?"

The messenger disclosed everything about what was going on back home and what had happend to Toleranth.

Vermillon was very quiet for a minute and looked unchanged.

Having calmed herself, Nadira pulled out a chair for Vermillion and silently motioned for him to take a seat.
" These are hard times... I barely know what I should do myself... But Laos' temples being active concerns me greatly. I would like to have it investigated, but if what you say is true then there's no purpose in throwing away the lives of innocent men."
She raised her eyebrow at Vermillion,
"What do you think about all this? Oh, by the way, have you seen Arkayid? He's been missing for sometime, and I must say I'm getting a littly bit worried."
PostPosted: Fri Oct 27, 2006 9:27 am

"Arkayid left to return to Esperanza in some hopes of rescuing the queen, or doing some footwork in intelligence. I'm sure if something etremely important comes up he'll send word to you or I about it."

Vermillion still sounded off, kinda in a daze of disbelief, but he gathered up his features and looked at the messenger and waived his hand off.

"Please fetch me the latest drawings from the skywatch concerning the temples of Loas. We'll need them to present to the people of pearle and to their northernly neighbors in attempt to unifiy them if the worst is realized."

The messenger nodded and disappeared long enough to appear back on the ledge of the window the same form as he arrived in. He surveyed the outside a bit and then hopped off the window ledge and started flapping his way back to Domachi.

Vermillion turned slightly to face the door, but keep his face from Nadira. He let the soild face crack, and the tears fall a bit. In a semi broken soft voice; "He must've left it with Queen Yami, and that puts her in grave danger, but I cannot abandon my efforts here. Nadira, can I trust your military commander to run a errand of upmost importance?"

((im lost any one wanna help me out here are we done with the boring mob and back in the castle now? im going to asume that we are in the castle in this post if im wrong please tell me))

Marta was wandering through the medical ward a few of the guards that had been caught up in tiny tussles around the city were in the ward and she was doing more than the doctors could just by touching them. However, every wound she healed she felt the pain of it in the same area of her own body, she would wince and a few tears were sitting on the edges of her lashes with the increasing pain.

she approached a man who had been slashed in the stomach and she sat next to him on the bed breathing deeply looking down at him "this is going to... hurt....me please dont tell any one i dont want to be taken away and not aloud to help" she said to him simling softly. she set her hand on his stomach gently and her other hand went to her own stomach as she bit on her lip to hold back the groan of pain.

She nodded curtly, as she once again wetted her quill, and began scratching away at a spare bit of parchment.
" Here, I've explained what we've learned thus far, Vermillion would you like to write down your own orders? I might forget something. Then we can send it along with Metta as soon as she returns, which could be any minute by now." She massaged her cramped fingers, and offered Vermillion the quill.
"I understand what your saying about the treaty, but right now, I doubt there's anything we can do. Getting Pearle involved in a Peacy treaty with Esperanza is dangerous right now, considering the woman who's controlling it is quite obviously mad to say the least. I've sent all of the home forces to Houka, to assist them in any way possible until we can get over there, and begin direting the recovery of Esperanza. Personally, I can't say I'm pleased that Arkayid went back to Esperanza after all this, but there's nothing we can do now..."
She thought for a moment,
" Pearle, and Houka are still in rough water, I doubt we could get the two to negotiate a military alliance, especially since they both have armies on the ready to invade, each other at any hint of a threat... I don't know, what do you think we should do?"

"Well both forces cannot operate independant of one another or absolute chaos will result, and no doubt personal scores between the two will take place on the same battlefield as they fight our common enemy. We need a meeting with the entire staffs of both sides, Pearle, and Houka in the same room. Of course niether will enjoy hosting such a meeting due to threat of spying by the other side."

Vermillion took the quill and began drawing a apple with a tear upon its crown; and underneath it in a simple sentence was to have the picture delivered to Yami. Vemillion set the quill back into the ink bottle and slid the parchment back over to Nadira.

"So what were gonna need is a place that both sides call neutral territory, and such a place exisits only in legend. From what I gathered so far from temple here was that the two sides worship two supreme gods. One of the night signified by the moon, and the other the sun. However neither share the same sky, The sun chases the moon out of the sky, the moon chases the sun, both having their peaks of glory. Much of this is apparent in their conquests and their retreats. But, there is a time when both are at their peak of glory, and a peaceful yet powerful sign is displayed to both militaries. The eclipses' of the moon and the sun, both showing that at some point in time that the pursuer and the prey have laid their arms down, and shared their company in peace. However fleeting a time of peace, still a moving sign to all who belive in such, and the only place I can find fitting to hold such a meeting is the ruins of the two gods. It used to be a temple celebrating the union in the sky, destroyed in a invasion long ago, and is within two days travel by both sides."

Vermillion held out his hand and a very old parchment appeared and he rolled it out on the table in front of Nadira. He pointed tot he ruins, and smiled; "This is the place, and although its in Houka territory at this point, if you overlay the current force deployments." Vermillion traced then out in a faint blue of energy. "Neither side occupies it, or the area around it for miles. If you can convince the Queen of Houka to bring her commanders their along with herself, and I can scare up the courage from this lot here. The rewards will expidite Esperanza's freedom, pending if our enemy stays content where she is for the time being, and does not intervene in this venture."

Vermillion leaned back giving Nadira space to look over the map and to formulate her opinion and ideas as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

A few of the healed guards began talking, much of which was getting back to the higher ups in the military. As much as Marta wanted her low profile, she was in the spotlight of a powerful person. The supreme commander of Pearlian forces, and sense the queens death he was more or less ruling the country with a forceful hand. He knew if Marta's ability could be used in his benefit or shown to the people. They would follow a compansionate person before following him, sense he represents the deaths of many fellow citizens in the defense of the country. However, he could manipulate her and remover her from power when the time was right and seize control of the country. Yes, this would do, and he sent word to have her brought before him.

-----

Word got back to the forces in the hospital, and a armed detail began making their way up to where Marta was. Their orders were clear, bring her by any means to see the supreme commander, alive, and failure was not an option if they wished to live.

Nadira gazied curiously at the designon parchment, before shrugging, and rolling it up tightly.
The flutter of wings announced Marta's return. The little Race(for this is what I shall call them from now on.) alighted on Nadira's shoulder, and puffed out her chest, proudly offering them a little not, obviously scribbled down hastily.
Nadira stroked the little violet creatures head, as she took the note from her, and held it up to the light.
"The General has immediatley began preperations for moving the army. He has already sent out the messengers to all of the barracks ordering them to take only the neccesities for they shall leave before daybreak, retrieving the other patrols as they pass by."
She tied the new scroll to the newly disgruntled races outstretched leg.
The recipent glared at Nadira with such force, that she had to choke down hysterical laughter. Now was hardly the time.
Turning away from Marta, she scrutinized the conjured map with a critical eye.
"How in the world did you learn of such a place Lord Vermillion? Or is it King Vermillion now?"
She recognized the lay of the land now, and thought she knew roughly where this temple must lay.
" I also must hope that Sibel stays where she is until the meeting can be arranged, but we will get nowhere with hope. We must continue our preperations expecting there to be trouble, especially since she will surely be enraged at the loss of her armies... I don't doubt her creativity, she will make trouble, and I find it hard to believe that even the loss of her armies will do more than briefly slow her progress."

Vermillion smiled; "lets not go into detail of how i found this map or infromation, because to do so would expose much of the network of infromation. I am still vermillion by the way, King is reserved for one appointed the title by birth, and although I am lord, I do not have royal blood. Toleranths daughter and son will be raised and then chosen from to lead the empire."

Vermillion looked at the map; "Sibel is indeed crafty, and if she is the cause of loas's temples becoming active then me must safely assume the rouge demons are also aiding her out of fear of him should they be disloyal. So army or not she does have strength, skywatches report the bands scattered, however in a pattern that would give her strength should she need it, but not enough to overthrow a large force. What disturbs me is this bit of infromation i just go now."

Vermillion laid a new map over the old one, this being of the temple of Loas and the surrounding area. Already lines of moving demons were shown on it, moving in a counterclockwise direction to that of the same demons forces circling the captial city.

"I've never seen such organized behavior out of demons, something grim is definetly coming our way out of this, and your right in hope not getting the job done. I'll go talk to the supreme commander of the Pearle forces, right now most of the politcal power resides with him. i'll check up on you in a days time, and nadira, try not to get yourself killed alright. Good human friends are hard to come by."

Vermillion left both maps and moved to gather his coat and a few things for the trip out of the city.

Having grown tired with the long wait for Nadira, Kado went to go and look for something of interes, which there seemed plenty of. Walking throughout the castle he marvled at the dungeons and halls, still he could not help to wonder of how Jadira was doing hearing of all the deaths that have just recently occured. Idely he walked further twirling his thumbs, it had not been long ago that he had met both Jadira as well as Nadira but he had in the short time become comfortable with Jadira, Nadira was a different story. She seemed streesed it has queit hard to understand what she was doing at time, still Kado knew his place. This all had come to him so fast that even he was confussed, ofcourse he hated confussion i stressed him greatly, which was also a danger for him for he had a demon of anger trapped within him. Finnally decided to check up on Nadira, Kado turned back to the way he had came. He had been so busy thinking and pondering his thoughts he hadent noticed were he had been going. Walking back, having difficulty finding his way he stopped when he saw Lord Vermillion walking out of a room. That must have been were Nadira was. (sorry, not a well written post but yes mabey i shall fix later) <('.'<)

Vermillion noticed Kado and smiled slightly; "Nadira's inside if your looking for her, stick close to her, things are about to get rough in the coming days."

(not much of a post either, but enough to give ya something to reply about.)
