Nic forced a smile as she heard her name called. God, what she did for money... “Hey Autumn. Yea, I work here. Been here for about a year now...” She trailed off; hoping she sounded nice but dismissive and her eyes fell onto Gerard again. She opened her mouth to ask if he needed anything, but thought better of it, and went back to straightening up,

((Okay, since it seems that you all are at Hot Topic, it seems like I should just "happen" to drop in))
Jay walked into the dimmly lit store. Hot Topic was "her place" when she was brought to the mall by her older brother. She walked in, in search of a new hair dye. She walked over to some of the merchandise, and out of the corner of her eye, there stood Gerard. He stood tall and she couldn't help but stop in her tracks when she saw him. He was looking at something, an Iron Maiden shirt, maybe. She slowly made her way over to him. To be subtle she just said, "Hi there... Gerard right?" She kicked her self inside. Could that have sound a little more.... gah...

Nic went back to her perch behind the checkout counter and watched yet another girl approach Gerard. She wondered how he would handle this one, cause apparently, he wasn’t in the greatest of moods. Any fool could see that. That’s precisely why she hadn’t attempted to talk to him yet. She knew how it felt to want to just be away and by yourself... Actually, she knew a place perfect for Gerard... Well, perfect for her, but she was sure Gerard would like it too. Maybe she would ask him. But for now, she was content to just sit and watch and listen. Her time would come.

Well isn't this just the luckiest day on the planet, Gerard thought as yet another person said hi to him. Why the hell were there so many people that new him here?
He wasn't in a good mood at all. He'd just gotten into a fight with Mikey and had to get out of the house and do something. But really, he just wanted to be alone.
"Hi," he managed to let out, trying to bring his face to a smile, but it turned out more of a grimace.
-She noticed too, and he could tell. He felt bad, and mad that he had come here.

"That's cool," Autumn said, seeming to notice that although they had met people here, they didn't seem to be in the greatest moods.
"Let's get out of here, we can always dress up as monsters now." she said to Jesse.

Nic saw the grimace on Gerard’s face and instantly felt the need to take it off. She knew he wasn’t much in the mood for talking, and that only made things more difficult for her. How could she approach him without making things worse..? Nic took one of the craptastic postcards that hot topic sold at an outrageous price- she’d just dock it out of her pay as she hoped that this was worth it. She grabbed a pen from her purse and proceeded to write a note. “Hi Gerard. I know you’re not in the best of moods and can tell that you want to be left alone right now. As you can see, Hot Topic isn’t the greatest place for solitude. If you want I can take you to a place where I go that’s much better than here. They have much better shirts for much better prices and they make it a policy to not let the “scenic” kids find out about it. I get off in 5 mins if you want me to take you. I promise I wont talk at all if you don’t want me to.~ Nic” She walked up to Gerard and handed him the postcard, then walked up to the front, looking for the chick that was suppose to take the next shift.

Jay noticed the grimaced at Gerard's face. "Well," she began. "Just decided to say 'hi' and, umm, thanks for showing me around the school." She smiled nervously, then proceded to nearly runa way from him. She ran hid behind one of the counters. Something caught her eye. She looked up. It was Nic, atleast she thought that was her name. She looked like she was looking for something... or perhaps, someone. "Hey there Nic."

Nic heard her named called yet again. She sighed and forced a smile on her face once more and replied. “Hi... Um Jay, right?” Why, today of all days, did everyone suddenly show up at Hot Topic. She didn’t know what was so grand about the place.

Jay looked at the floor. "Umm, yeah. It's Jay." She was still on the floor behind the counter, hugging her knees. " Who, or what are you looking for?" She asked Nic.
She knew these people didn't want her here. It just caught her as rude, but at the same time. She understood. The new geeky art student comes into the Hot Topic and greets everyone she sees. The smirk on Gerard, the forced smile on Nic, it all added up to, "Yeah, I know you. I'll talk to you, but not right now. In fact, go over there. Don't bug me." Jay felt like getting up and leaving...

Nic shot a glance out the door and back at Jay. “I’m looking for the girl who starts the next shift.” She gave a quizzical look to Jay before asking, “Why are you sitting in the floor? If you’re hiding from Gerard, don’t. He wont hurt you. And if he tries, don’t worry. I can take him.” For the first time all day Nic managed a genuine smile. It was kind of funny seeing the girl sitting on the floor hiding. She supposed she hadn’t been very nice, but she wasn’t used to this. Besides, it had been a long day.

JAy fake laughed. "I don't take rejection well." She got up off the floor and was now at eye level with Nic. "So, why so anxious to find the next shift person?" She glanced back at Gerard, who was still starring at a wall of merchandise. "He's just... I don't know. He, Gerard, seems so nice. His brother seems sweet too. I haven't met him though. Mickey, right?"

"“Meh. I’ve been in here too long today. I just need to get out. I hate hot topic. I just feels so fake to me. I’m only here for the money. And as for Gerard, I think he’s just having a bad day. And yeah, I think his name is Mikey.” Nic looked the girl up and down and tilted her head to the side. “I hope you don’t do that every time you get rejected...”

"I...I usually don't hide behind a counter at Hot Topic, if that's what you mean." Jay looked around. Gerard had yet to move. "I usually draw." She looked at her shoes, small drawings all over them. "So, where are you headed after you're shift?" She knew already that she would probably say, "Oh, I'm busy." or "Yeah, I'm going home." But, she already knew how she took rejection, so why would she do that?

Gerard was getting used to this being a weird day, but when another girl who apparently worked here came and shoved a post card into his hands (not so gently either), that topped it off.
He looked at it for a moment and then opened it and the read the message.
Hm... he though, someone actually understands...
But still, he wasn't sure he wanted to go around with a complete stranger looking for this "better place."
When he added it all up it sounded halarious so he almost, almost, laughed.
Then decided he might as well go and try to stop being in a shitty mood.
He looked around for the girl who was called Nic and saw her not far away, apparently, talking to a counter.

Jay noticed that, for the first time today, Gerard had a smile painted across his face. What made him so happy? Jay looked at the black floors of Hot topic again. Why did I come here? she thought. She looked over at the hair dye, then decided it could wait. Nic seemed to still be looking around, so she just decided to leave. She walked out, then stopped in the doorway. One last look at Gerard, and she was off to the bookstore. Wow, I'm a bookworm and an art student and a geeky straight Aer, yet I listen to some VERY contridicting music... she thought. She was still shook up, almost embarrased, about going to Hot Topic, then goign to the bookstore, of all places, so she took out her CD player and turned it to one of her favorite songs. She then took a detour to one of her favorite stores...
((Just to let you know, I have NO idea where she's going...))

Autumn caught a glimpse of the other girl who had said hi to Gerard as she left Hot Topic. They had kind of just left the store and sat around, not knowing what to do.
"Hey, look, she's going somewhere in a hurry. We should follow her!"
She grabbed Jesse by the arm while he mumbled something like, "this seems... really creepy.... we shouldn't... be doing this..."
But Autumn wasn't listening. She was too curious for her own good, and so she just followed right along.
