[Nyx D. Altair]

A weak smile flashed across Nyx's gaunt features as he took Fortayu's offered hand and climbed out of the car. He winced slightly as he put weight on his left leg, but tried to ignore it. Keyword: tried.

"Of course I'm willing to change my views..." he stated quietly, a wince from his leg pain working its way into his voice. He followed the silver-haired man closely, almost afraid of being left behind.

He had the odd feeling they were being watched, but said nothing as he began to limp heavily in his attempts to keep up with his companion.

Chance Alexander buttoned up his black ankle-length trench coat, obscuring the loose black pants and clean white dress shirt underneath. He pulled a black top hat on, nicely accenting the outfit. His hair hung in a rough, red-brown wave to his shoulders, spiking out slightly at the ends. He had stopped by the café on his time off, picking up a cup of coffee and a sandwich before going for a walk.

He had finished the sandwich quickly, but took his time with the warm beverage he held. He fished around in his left-hand coat pocket before coming up with his shiny white mp3 player, a Creative Zen Microphoto. He flicked the switch to turn it on, and used his one free hand to insert his black/grey earbuds. Tapping the play icon, he put it back in his pocket and hummed along softly as he took his walk, enjoying the odd assortment of songs on his perpetually-shuffled list.

Passing a poster, he paused to get a better look. A
Vampiric Mangos poster. He looked over the band members, his eyes resting for a fraction of a second longer on the person in a dress. Shaking his head, he took a deep drink of his coffee and sighed lightly. Turning from the poster, he mentally noted the information for the show and decided he would do well to check it out. Smiling a bit, he tapped his fingers against his side in time with the song that popped up on his player, then began singing along perfectly in his low, velvety voice.

"The streets are all violent
With murderous excitement
The hunter and the prey are dancing every day,"

The street was mostly deserted, so he didn't bother feeling at all self-conscious.

"That waltzing jibberish
Where intake becomes outlandish
I'm in a bad way every passing day,"
He trailed off in order to drain the rest of his coffee, but extended his pause as he saw a figure with a cell phone step out of an alley. After a moment he continued singing, though he was still watching the startlingly feminine man.

"A flash of dark interest steers us into this car crash
Uniting our remains, a firey hurray
Our hands touch unnoticed
Pressed up against melting glass
And you're calling out my name as the air escapes..."

Remorse poured over her body after hearing the ring.

"It's alright, go on ahead." She lifted her head so he could stand and leaned back onto the rugged wall, slightly hurting the back of her head. Although her place on the ground only lasted a short while before she decided to head out..

"I need to tell him where I am going, but?" After a quick though, she remembered a small piece of paper in her pocket. Helena pulled it out and took the other half of the razor laying on the ground. "I can't believe I have paper and no pen. I guess this will do."

With the razor in hand, she carefully ran it across the small puddle of blood on the ground and used the tip of the metal object to write 'Going to take a drive, then hotel, see ya there' in her crimson blood. There after, Helena jumped back onto her Suzuki, and took off down the alley in the same direction of Nathan, only to stop juts before him to show him the note before speeding off again.

This was her quiet time as she sped through the streets enjoying the cold brisk wind blowing through her hair.

[Nathan A. Wilson]

"That's great, Dad," Nathan muttered into his phone. "No, I'm fine, I promise... Don't worry about it." Rolling his eyes, he shook his head and sighed. "Yes, Dad, I had an attack this afternoon; no, nothing bad happened. I just got a little worked up, Alan helped stop it." He blinked at Helena as she passed and handed him a note, then read over it as she sped off and his father continued talking.

"Shh, shh... It's okay." Desperately trying to reassure his father that everything was fine, he sighed and looked around him as if searching for an escape.

And he saw Chance.

His heart skipped a beat. He stopped and stared, wondering if his eyes could be playing a trick on him, or if it really was his best friend from years ago...

His hair was long... much longer than he ever had it when Nathan knew him. But the rich color was the same, the beautiful red-brown that the transvestite had run his hands through so many times before. And his eyes, still their deep emerald, endlessly amazing... His trademark jacket, his stylish top hat...

"Kay, thanks Dad, gotta run, love you!" Hanging up the phone in a hurry, the white mage stared at the other male a while longer, listening to his velvet voice sing.

"Where do we go from here, I'll say
You're a shining star, you'll do great in L.A.
And I keep fixing every habit that I break...
" he added to the song, approaching Chance slowly.

"Oh Megan, is this thing of ours still on?
For I haven't slept a wink since you have been gone
And I want to be buried in your backyard
And when the flowers grow, just know you're still in my heart...
"

A light smile played across his ruby lips, and his ice-blue eyes glittered cheerfully as he watched his best friend.

Chance smiled slightly as the man approached him, reaching into his pocket to turn off his music as his friend continued the song for him.

He pulled his hat off and swept into a bow, smirking at the transvestite.

"It's been a long time, Nathan. How have you been?" He brushed his hair back behind his ears and placed his hat back on his head. After a moment, he gave in and hugged Nathan.

"Want to go get some coffee? I have a place..." He laughed quietly, realizing that he was excitedly on the verge of rambling at his long-lost friend. He took Nathan's hand and smiled softly at him.

"Come on. Walk. Talk with me."

[Nathan A. Wilson]

"I've been... alright." The white mage was hesitant, unable to quite find words for how much he'd missed the black mage. "I... I really missed you..." Clinging to Chance for a while, he tried to translate his feelings into the embrace. He buried his effeminate face in the other male's neck, nuzzling him slightly.

"Coffee sounds great, but I have to get back to the hotel... get my instruments and such so I can prep for the gig tonight..." Biting his lip, Nathan looked around quickly. "I think we can walk there and back, though. It's less than two miles... My car will be fine at the club for a while." Flashing a reassuring smile at his best friend, he squeezed his hand gently. "I have mocha frapps at the hotel."

"Will you come with me?" he asked almost shyly, though he knew his companion would say yes now that they'd found each other again...

"I've missed you too, Nathan." Chance smiled and nodded as his companion spoke of getting back to the hotel.

"Of course I'll come with. Had you expected anything else? A walk doesn't sound too bad either... better than going straight home." He paused and glanced around, spotted a trash can nearby and tossed his paper coffee cup before turning to Nathan.

"But I insist we go somewhere else for coffee. I've become prissy with my coffee tastes... Not that it's news to you, I've always been prissy." He grinned, smoothing his coat out.

"A simple Mocha Frapp isn't going to cut it. Trust me... come with me, we can get some food and drinks." He eyed his friend critically. "Or just drinks. I forgot, you don't eat. Ever. But we'll get to that later; for now let's go." Chance took his companion's hand and began in the direction of the only hotel he could think of near there.

"I was thinking about going to the show... Those posters are obnoxious but strangely compelling. There's one outside the
Cat's Eye. Not much has happened with me, honestly. Life goes on as usual."

Fortayu slowed his pace as he noticed Nyx having trouble keeping up.

"Are you okay?" He tilted his head to the side and held out an arm, offering support silently. He lead Nyx to the mostly-empty elevator, tapping the button for the third floor. There were a couple other people in the box with them, though it was silent as they rode. Unable to think of anything else to say, he just let the silence hang. When the doors opened again he stepped out and looked around.

"So. Lead on... You have a key, I assume." He ran a hand through his hair, a nervous habit he was rapidly forming.

"When we get there you should probably lie down."

[Nathan A. Wilson]

Smiling and laughing, Nathan patted Chance's back. "You have always been prissy, dear. But I don't mind a simple mocha frapp, it's my most favorite drink in the world..." With a dreamy sigh, he lifted his companion's hat from his head, placed it on his own, and ran a hand through the red-brown locks happily. He looked horribly adorable with the top hat so far from his own style of a tight tank top and tiny denim shorts.

"Oh, hush. I'll eat... I only forget sometimes." He laughed loudly, squeezing the black mage's hand happily. Following him with a grin, the white mage stayed close to him, drinking up his presence.

"The Cat's Eye? I love that place!" Hooking an arm around his friend's shoulders, he nuzzled his cheek playfully. "And of course you should go to the show... I'm in it, and Alan's hot," he said teasingly with a wink. "Alan likes the posters to be obnoxious, people pay more attention to them that way."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2007 10:54 pm

Chance adjusted the hat on Nathan's head and nodded approvingly.

"Maybe I should give you one... Quite handsome." Smiling, he leaned into the blond's touch slightly.

"I know you eat. Even if you don't look like it..." He smirked and hugged his companion tightly. Standing there, he held Nathan close and just took a moment to be happy he was there. A moment later he released the other male, speaking as if the hug had never occurred.

"I'm glad someone approves... Not that it's rare. I may be a little biased, but the Cat's Eye is the best place around here for coffee. You can't imagine how annoying those posters are if you have to look at them every day though..." Chance shook his head. "But it works, I suppose. I know I was going to go... Still am, unless you manage to scare me away before then."

Zip watched the two cross the room, darting into the elevator and hiding behind one of the other occupants when the door opened. He didn't think anyone noticed, and was glad that he was a cat. Most people don't pay attention to small animals...

When the doors opened he stayed hidden until the silver-haired man began talking, using the potential distraction to hide behind one of the fake potted plants in the hall. He crouched low to the ground, wondering what he would do when they got to the room. Would he sneak in, or would he leave then? He could either risk getting caught for a look at where the famous band member was staying, or he could leave and say he saw them in a hotel.

Well he'd come this far. Why quit now?

[Nathan A. Wilson]

"I'm not handsome, I'm pretty," Nathan teased, gently poking the tip of Chance's nose. "Notice on all the posters, I'm a woman. It was the twins' idea. If I had a choice, I'd be a little more manly on occasion. Sometimes it's just too much, y'know?" He toyed with the brim of his stolen hat. "I do really like this though... you and I should go shopping, and get me some boyclothes."

The white mage was pleasantly surprised as the black mage gave him a tight hug. He hugged back eagerly, clinging to the embrace in another attempt to display just how much he had missed the wonderful company of his best friend. Even trying to explain the first few years without him was horrifyingly difficult, especially because he was so numb for a while that he didn't remember much at all. And as great a time as he had with the band, nothing beat standing silently in Chance's arms...

"Biased?" he asked softly, returning to normal conversation in much the same manner that his companion did. "And I'd love to just try scaring you away. I'm so fierce. Really." His dry tone, accompanied with a smirk, displayed just how much he thought of his own ferocity.

"Well if you insist, you can be pretty. We should definitely go shopping... It's been a while since you last dragged me around to thirty stores in three hours." He laughed, happily remembering so many days of constant complaining while his rather feminine friend gleefully ignored him. Their seperation was difficult, but he threw himself into his work and tried several things before he settled with his old passion for books. After that got stiflingly repetitive, he opened his own little business for something new to do. He never quite stopped missing Nathan though...

"Hm? Yes. Biased. The Cat's Eye is my café. I started it after getting bored with being a librarian for years. I still work with books part-time, but I've given more time and energy to opening my business than anything. It's still relatively new, and local, but..." He shrugged. "It's something to do, and I enjoy the place. It lets me be by myself while surrounded by people. My favorite." Chance smiled again, unable to keep the grin from his face for very long.

"You can be fierce... though it's nowhere near the scary kind." He leered at his friend suggestively, amusement sparkling in his warm green eyes.

[Nyx D. Altair]

"I'm fine..." Nyx stated quietly, but he took the support Fortayu offered, really not in the mood for pain. He couldn't help but feel like the people in the elevator were giving him dark looks. He wasn't exactly an attractive or respectable-looking figure. Melancholy eyes stared at the floor silently, though they didn't notice the orange ball of fur hiding behind a stranger.

"Yeah, if anyone remembered to lock the thing anyway..." Loosing himself from the silver-haired man, he glanced around briefly before heading down the hall, his limp even heavier and his pain visible with each movement. "Dammit... I left my cane in the Porsche..." Pausing, he shook his head. "Actually no... took it into Chop Suey with me... must still be wherever I left it in there." He sighed and stopped in front of a door, testing the knob cautiously before opening it with ease.

"Left it unlocked..." he muttered, hobbling in and flopping gracefully onto the couch.

Fortayu contemplated the cane issue as his companion went inside, following a moment later. He pushed the door closed behind him, going to sit on the arm of the couch the Kaltec was residing on.

"So... I guess I don't really need to stay here, do I? I could go get your cane for you, if you want... What does it look like? I wasn't paying attention." At that point he was rather busy taking offense at the man's accusations, he wasn't paying attention to his accessories. Gazing around the room, he shook his head in an attempt to get the silvery hair out of his eyes.
