Minerva took the food and hurled it back out of the flap, knowing that if it stood there too long she would be tempted. This made Wormtail wince, but he swallowed and stood at the front of her cell, avoiding all eye contact.

"She's still missing..." Desiree was sitting cross legged on the bed in Ray's bedroom back at his home, a small bag packed for the night before they went to Peter's house the next day. She read through the article on the front page of the Daily Prophet and shook her head. "Says here the Aurors are at their wit's end."

Ray sighed. "Desiree...I'm not so sure that we should expect her to be found." He didn't want to crush the poor girl, but he didn't want to see her in shock whenever McGonagall's mangled corpse was found.

Desiree glanced up from the paper, a frightened and somewhat disappointed look on her face. "Is it my fault? I mean, I saw that vision and I should have acted sooner. So what if Wormtail had gotten me, at least she would have been safe."

"No, it's not your fault," Ray told her. "McGonagall wouldn't have wanted us to mess with Draco and Wormtail. I'm sure of it."

"Yes but...who knows what they're trying to do with her?" Desiree rolled up the newspaper and put it aside, shaking her head with a pained expression on her face. "I just wish my stupid Eye would open up again and let me see what the bloody hell is going on!"

Ray said nothing. He actually rather wished for the same thing, and he drummed on his headboard, trying to distract himself.

"I'm hungry..." Jess pulled herself out of Peter's arms and began rummaging around the cabinets. She wasn't sure what she was in the mood for, but she knew she was in the mood for something. Halfway through digging in a snack drawer, she stopped and took a step back. "Wait, no. I can't eat today or I won't fit in my clothes tomorrow." She looked down at the stretched out dress robes which appeared as though they could bust a seam right around her midsection.

Peter, tall and lanky as usual, shrugged. He didn't see what all the fuss was about. It only took his mother a minute or two to take in some seams, so it only seemed logical that bringing them back out should be about the same. "Go ahead and eat if you want to, Jess. It won't be a problem. I'm sure of it."

"No, no. If I'm going to get married tomorrow, I need to look good for it." It was more than just the dress robes. Jess was feeling more than a little self conscious. She had been blesesd with a perfect body and it was already going to seed. And they had been worried that the baby wouldn't be big enough. That was most definitely not a problem anymore.

"I say that you'll look better if you eat something," Peter wheedled, leaning against the snack cabinet. He pulled out a bunch of grapes and began to eat them, one by one. "And really, isn't my opinion the only one that matters?"

"No I won't." Jess slumped into a chair, rubbing her hand up and down the front of her too large stomach. "I'll look fatter than I already do."

Peter frowned. Madame Pomfrey had explicitly warned him to not let Jess think this way. But he seemed to have forgotten what he was supposed to do. "Well, everyone knows that you're pregnant. They won't think you've just gorged yourself on crisps."

"That's not the point, Peter." Jess sighed. "How am I supposed to feel beautiful on my wedding day if I feel like I've just let myself get so out of shape? I haven't even been allowed to exercise and look at me. I look awful."

"You look pregnant," insisted Peter. "And beautiful. They don't cancel each other out, you know."
