Calder glanced back at his date and then back at Barth. "It's been....It's been going. Just...feeling it out. He does dance nicely." Not as close as Calder would like, but he did get to have one dance with Invictus and that was always a good thing. "Certainly a interesting boil. I'm hoping he won't mind if I walk him home." He leaned in with a smile. "I think I'm growing on him." Like an fungus you couldn't get rid of.

"Pleaseeeeeee~?" Cue the puppy eyes before she giggled, "Nice enough?" However, while she would very much like to have his jacket, more for the sake of romance (hehe) than for warmth right now, she would rather Mac remain... Close. He was warm. He gave her the best sort of warmth no jacket could ever give.
In fact, when he hugged her, she gladly hugged back, closing her eyes as she smiled, burying her face into his chest. The kiss on her cheek was unexpected, but judging from her blush and the way she was giggling away? She enjoyed it.
"Mmmm, may I have you instead, when we leave?" She whispered, looking away as she shuffled her feet; that was too embarrassing to say, even for her.

Barth looked over at Calder's date too. "You deserved a nice date. You're always so helpful, to everyone. I'm...not, exactly. And I don't know if I should be encouraging that sort of thing. But...I'm the sort that needs it, every now and again."

... That was a rather strange sensation. Jericho didn't know what happened but he decided not to think too hard on it. Instead, he turned his attention to Malodore and nodded.
"Not a problem," he said. He was about to scoop the mindflayer up, but paused for the moment, "Might want to take her crown for the meantime. I don't think it'll stay on for the ride home."
Whenever that was secured, he carefully lifted up Riley and started to head on out. On the way, he spotted Christof and Amrita, though the latter was heading off. Grinning to the patchwork, he paused by the Igor for the moment.
"Riley's beat so we're going to head on out. I forgot to tell you earlier, but you did a pretty beastly job with Oogie boogie earlier," the dragon grinned. He would have shown off his prize-dice but his hands were a bit full at the moment.

Christof wobbled a bit, flushing as he was hugged... and kissed. It was different when Amrita did it than when Shehk or Morrigan had... His mind didn't start to whirl in unpleasant ways, anyway... they just... felt oddly warm. Gingerly, he gave her a hug in return, "We thall hawe to danthe again thometime. When I er... learn more I thuppothe," He even chuckled, and the sound was just as odd in his throat as it had been coming from the little ghoul.
He then spotted Riley, flopped gently against her friends and his stomach twisted.
He supposed getting a dance with Mistress was going to be out of the question.
"Er.. It wath lowely but um... I er... thould tend to thingth ath well. You can keep the hat." He smiled, "You look er..." He struggled, scrambling for the right word before somehow managing to wrap his mouth around it, "Cute."
That said, he gave her a polite bow, turning to limp away, but suddenly Jericho was heading towards him.
He froze, his expression blank save for his furrowed brows as Jericho paused. He could only stare down at his shoes, murmuring a soft, "Um. Th-thank you." He opened his mouth, about to offer to take her off his hands, to do what an Igor was supposed to do for their Mistress, to tend to her and make sure she was safe and comfortable, but... apparently that position was filled. By an eternally stronger, faster, better looking boil. He closed his mouth, fidgeting again as he glanced over his shoulder towards Malodore, "Are... um... you leaving ath well, Mathter?"

Calder smiled and shook his head. "But you're my friend. I'm happy to help friends. And you're so nice to be my friend, and put up with me, and all those times I came over to hang out and you teaching me about things like TVs and stereos and not calling me dumb for it. I used to think demons and contracts were horrible, but the one I had with you wasn't so bad at all and you still let me come over after." Calder turned with the dance and noticed that the song was picking up to a more bouncy number. He wondered if Barth could keep up with the rhythm.

"What, no picture of your first formal dance of the night?" Vaith asked, raising a golden eyebrow. His hands enveloped her small one while his other rested on the upper curve of her back, wondering if Xiu's hands always been so small. He led Xiu onto the dance floor with a practiced motion, although it barely hid the hint of awkwardness that always seemed to surround Vaith.
Vaith seemed to be looking for the words to say, his expression looking into the distance, clearly unfocused on the dance for a peculiar moment. He seemed to have formed something coherently because he spoke soon enough. "It's .. unfortunate that I didn't ask you for a dance earlier. We could have been dancing while all your friends were." He tried not to apologize because Xiu had told him to have fun and be himself. Apologies might have ruined the night uncomfortably. But it was Vaith's own way of saying he felt bad.

With Tset's compliment, Colette kept dancing, except the fake smile she started out with was actually a little bit real. She was getting the hang of it, right? You weren't really supposed to dance like that to a slow song, so maybe just sort of? The Grim Reaper couldn't tell the difference anyway. She danced, and kept dancing all while turning to face Tset after hearing her name.
And then promptly stopped.
The smile faded away as Colette looked at the two new faces she was being introduced to. "Uh -- erm, Hi," she finally replied nervously. Colette was self conscious, not to say that she wasn't already. Had they just seen her trying to dance? Probably. It was now imbedded in her mind that they had, and she was naturally not very confident as a beginner.
Colette stood there awkwardly and rocked back and forth while Tset talked with her friend. She couldn't leave with her dates still there, but she sure didn't want to try dancing again, and she didn't know these students well enough to randomly start talk to them. Her eyes at least didn't go unoccupied, as Colette was fixated on the creature perched on Joachim's head. What an odd thing.
Realizing she was staring, Colette tuned in on Tset and smiled back, albeit she missed whatever she was really talking about before then. Something about luck? Aside from that mishap, the Grim Reaper couldn't agree more that it was a pretty pleasant night and nodded in agreement to try and look like she had a purpose in the conversation; however, her eyes ended up falling on the creature again. "I've never see a black mouse before," she finally stated curiously. Colette at least hoped that was a mouse from the squeak she heard. It was hard to see, but she wasn't about to shove her nose in the kid's space to confirm it.

Things were slowing down... with the Prom court announced the different students were beginning to get a bit less rowdy, or so it seemed. Perhaps it had something to do with the choices of music that the booth had decided to play. A long time ago the tunes it blared out onto the dance floor had stopped being something that Aislin had set up and more things that it just seemed to play on it's own.
Nuk had gone off to do Student Council things, Sparrow was probably off wooing some other ghoul (which was fine). Cady was switching on and off between dancing with her own date and a patchwork boil. The banshee silently praised the manticore for keeping her options open.
With a sigh the ghostling relaxed in a chair near the refreshments. She'd wandered over to sample the punch as it seemed once more she was on her own. She hadn't been able to find Ys again, either. She could see other familiar figures dancing and talking with themselves... Danny, Jo, the one purple haired-Reaper that she'd teased during music class. But really... that was it.
Or so she thought. From the corner of her eyes she caught a dark-flickering of movement. Turning her head she expected perhaps a shadow playing tricks on her except... sure enough, there set in the head of the dark figure were two glowing eyes and a forever grinning mouth. The banshee straightened, took in a deep breath, and nearly screamed in her excitement to see her best friend.
"CAT!" Before the shadow-boil or even what seemed to be his date could probably register anything the banshee came running towards them. Who cared if she was in a dress - it wasn't like she risked showing her panties, they were already showing. Reaching feline-ghost she stopped short, managing to contain some form of courtesy towards his dance partner. Only some, however, as she reached out from behind him to wrap her arms about his neck, leaning against his back in a hug. "Cat! Why are you here!? Are you coming to the Academy?!"

Laughing, Xiu eyed her camera and then shook her head. "I'm not sure I could dance and take a picture at the same time." She pointed out, fumbling with the dancing position until she was comfortable. It felt kind of strange considering that she was so short, but she could deal with it.
When Vaith spoke up, the Baku's eyes widened slightly and she was quick to shake her head. "Oh! But...I wasn't a very good date--or friend, for the matter," Xiu frowned, shrinking slightly and immediately looking ashamed. "Running around like a maniac and taking so many photos...I think I got a little too excited." Her frown changed to a sheepish smile, and though--like Vaith--she did not apologize aloud, the look on her face was probably apology enough.
"I do hope you had fun though!" She added quickly, brows knitting in concern, "I really am happy you asked me to come. You're a great friend!" She paused mid-dance to give him an awkward hug, and then tried to take up the dancing position again.

The giggling was good, the blush was better, and the combination just seemed perfect. If it were possible for Mac to learn, one might think he learned from his earlier two attempts at kissing her...but he did not, it was strictly just the number of people around them. Sorry, everyone.
"...That's rather forward from a ghoul who just learned the innuendo of sausage." Mac teased, brow raised. He of course noted the way she shuffled and looked away, which...actually really only added to it. Oh man, Lizzy was just a tease through and through, wasn't she? Maybe she wasn't just a Spider Demon, skellington. "You do still have to tend to your Prom Date." He reminded her, though with a little scowl. Mostly because he didn't want to say OKAY SURE COME YOU CAN HAVE ME that just...sounded wrong. While he knew she was being innocent - hell, Lizzy was practically nothing if not innocent - but his mind couldn't help but gutter.
---
Hee, he hugged her back! It felt nice...compeltely opposite to being hit! Life was good. Amrita could only pick out bits and pieces of what Christof was saying to her, but thankfully she got the idea, and after glancing back at Riley, nodded. "O-okay! Um...Thank you for the hat!" She didn't want to argue it here, not with Christof about to get busy...but she'd bring it to his attention later.
"...! Ah! Uh-m, ah, th-thank you." She murmured, pressing her hands down her dress. "A-and you look very nice." She added, before disappearing in a fit of sheepish...with his hat still on her head. Woo boy!

Just as the crown slipped off her head, Riley's instinct to remain king kicked in. One of her tentacles wrapped around and brought it back up to her head, holding it there. Her eyes opened to slits, turning to look at Christof.
She reached out with both arms, while still in Jericho's hold, and gave the igor a loose, sleepy hug.
Night night, Christof. She mumbled sleepily.

Barth could not, in fact, keep up with the rhythm and his tempo seemed undeterred by the sudden change entirely.
"Glad to be of service to your perceptions," Barth said, feeling like he was letting his race down in some respects. He knew, intellectually, that not so bad was the goal, but some part of him wanted to be acknowledged as a nefariously evil b*****d.
"...and to be your friend," he said. "And it's no trouble. My door's always unlocked. ...Usually unlocked. I'd rather you not swing by this evening. But any other time."

Christof's eyes widened, body stiffening and face going red and purple as he stared at Jericho in a sudden panic. What... she... must have really been out of her mind with exhaustion. "Ah... Good night, Mithtreth," he murmured in a hoarse whisper, trembling hands moving to gingerly, anxiously wrapping around her, I wish we could have danced, Mistress. But you do look exhausted. His mental voice was just as soft and half mumbled as his spoken one, but before she could be carried off and away from him, he shifted in her grip, a hand plunging into his pocket. "Umm... Mithtreth?"
