Seriously, is being a difficult b***h in the job description of a secretary/receptionist, or is just how they get their kicks?! stressed

You know, I really, really like Juri's hair from this view, it's so curly! xd heart

rofl Agreed! I based her off of every school secretary I've ever had to deal with. I don't know what it is about them; even the administration usually isn't as bad. I think its a universal principle.

I have one thing to say, ladies. Since when has school ever been a democracy?

Well, Ohtori SUPPOSEDLY goes under the pretext of being at least SOME sort of democracy.

Since when? I'm genuinely interested. The student council positions aren't elected by students. I suppose, in the sense that any school could possibly have a democratic air to it, it does. But it has even less of one than the normal schools I've attended or heard of. I'm not trying to be antagonistic here, I'm just attempting to understand the way this scene progressed.

They don't have to respect her. But they should be intimidated of her. They should be fully aware that the student council members have the ability to give nearly any punishment they feel merits the occasion. (Once again, this has been witnessed in the anime, and is not a new innovation of my own.) As students of Ohtori, this system should not come as a big shock. In fact, they should be completely desensitized about it. There's something I've noticed when watching the show: things don't make sense on a real life level, but nobody cares or notices. The student council are easily accepted as demigod idols on campus, and no one finds it very strange. Not even Utena found it strange. Horses get loose in the school, there is kangaroo boxing, curry explodes. No biggie.

The student council are placed equal to the administration. The students are aware of this. Totally, fully aware. Backtalking to one of them is completely equal to backtalking to a principal. It doesn't have to make sense. This is Ohtori. This is an Utena RP. I'm sorry, the balance of power is uneven. However, that is what it is like in every RP. School RPs? Say you're playing a Harry Potter game. A player for Professor Snape will unfairly dock points, assign detentions, and throw jars of cockroaches at an innocent Harry Potter/any student who really pisses him off. These are the in-game dynamics.

The players for the student council members must keep the status of a character as a PC or NPC in perspective. Expulsions and suspensions aren't to be tossed around like carnival candy. But, seriously, the characters in this RP really are pushing it. As long as you are fully aware of the consequences and the definite possibility of these consequences, your character can do whatever they want. I will not stop you. However, please understand that your in-character actions may result in in-character consequences.

Totally. My VP is cool, even if he's embarrassing at times, like the weird cousin, or grandparent and that in itself is creepy. xp

It's funny, though. I go to a uniform school where black shoes are a must, but I totally ruined the heels yesterday when I tripped. So, instead of waiting for an infraction to happen, I took the initiative to get an admit slip for today and tomorrow. When I get there the woman was going to give me an infraction. I've never gotten a uniform infraction. Ever. And as prissy/weird as it might sound, I pride myself on it.

Me: "Yes, I'm here for an admit slip for my shoes?"

b***h lady: "It'll still be a uniform infraction."

Me: "Why?"

B.L.: "Let me see them. *has me walking back* Oh dear, yes that'll be an infraction." sad

Me: "I tripped and tore the heels yesterday!"

B.L.: "Did you buy new ones?"

I stumbled on my words at this, because I don't know about you guys, but I can't buy new shoes at the drop of a hat (I doubt she could, either), leaving aside how school has been eating my life lately. stare

So I ended up having to wait 35min., missing my bio test prep, despite my coming to the office of my own freaking volition. And she let everyone who came in the office come before me, telling me that I had to stay and wait, now. Thank God, the VP knows me (for only good, wholesome reasons, of course xd ) he ended up writing me a slip.

Eh, the secretaries at my school are nicer than MOST of the admins, sadly. The school dean is nicer than our VP, who is not only a total jerk, but a pervert... I realize that as admins they have to take their job seriously, but they're getting a**l about the stupid orange passes they're making us use x.x I had to go all of ten feet from my classroom to the office, he caught be about five feet from the classroom and made me go back, get the stupid pass, and then go to the office... to do something that MUST be done everyday so that everyone can hear the announcements...

But I digress, my admins are evil and out of the norm as it is.

And I said pretext Ivy *shrugs* Also, whether Ohtori ACTUALLY works like the real world or not, and whether or not we're supposed to act like it's normal, it's probably not going to happen as long as you have a selection of real people playing the characters, there are just going to be certain things that tick you off enough for your character to act out *shrugs again*

Or maybe not, I dunno, everyone thinks differently. That's just my take on the whole business.

My comment still stands. Usually, schools don't even the pretext of democracy, and a player's ideas of a situation should be kept out of the character. IC/OOC line divide. 3nodding

Sorry to hear about your bitchy administration, Ariella. I know that uniforms are supposed to help the social barriers by making everyone wear the same thing, but I'm very glad I didn't have to wear any.

I'm indifferent to it, actually. You wouldn't believe how long it takes me to pick something out when we are allowed to wear what we want (for a small donation to charity). As if I didn't take enough time getting ready in the morning. xd

I really wish we had those really cool, really flash blazers, though. gonk heart

I'd like an epaulet-less, charcoal-and-maroon verson of the student council uniforms. xd

If I had to have a uniform I'd want it to be like Utena's movie uniform. not the dueling one, her typical every day one.

Bike shorts. I'm too damn insecure for those spandex bike shorts.

What? She didn't have bike shorts in the movie, she had the typical style for ohtori, it was just a different color. Remember, NOT the dueling one *shudders*
