Thalgarik stood up, moving the hair from out of his face. He saw Reina riding off and broke into a sprint. He caught up to her shortly, showing no signs of fatigue. "So, where are we off to now?"
Each step he took was like thunder as he strode across along side.

((Hey, this is the new guy... been reading what has been posted, I really like it! Just wondering, since I'm on the Saxon side, what town or area are you at, maybe a link for the description of it to make my post proper?))

Being quiet for a large beast that he is, Akrin came up to the Saxon camp. It was a well hidden place, chosen with care. Looking through the mist of the morning he sought out the person in charge. If his size didn't portray him as something that wasn't human, it was the way he walked. The heavy footsteps with hoofed feet, however, they fell quietly on the ground. He walked as if he had a large pack on his back, swaying from side to side, his large one handed ax and his newly acquired metal tower shield seem not to fit such a beast.

After asking a few questions and proving that he was part of the Saxon army, he found the fire which the captain of this contingent lay. He walked up, knowing that the captain would obviously know of his presence, at least be told he was coming. Akrin knelt down so that his hoofs where still on the ground, in a sort of leaping position. His breath hot and visible in the morning he looked at the captain and shook his head side-to-side, which made him seem more like a beast than anything.

"Valraven Lyndric, I imagine?" He asked in a deep baritone voice

((Nice to meet ya! This is such an awesome story, I think Rayne did an awesome job here! ))

Val was not amused by how many people had come to his 'aide' even when he had stated he did not need it. His eyes dare not move from his position, he meerly stood there, looking ahead to where he was most certain the Knights would be comming.

"That would be correct," he said in his low monotone voice. The sun peaked through the hills, and, if he was lucky, he'd catch the insolent fools before they even realized what hit them. Valraven had his knives in his hands, two which were trusty, they had never let him down before. He spun them by the handle, twirling them about in his fingertips.

The men that were sent out had not come back, that meant that the Knights were surely near them, and that he would have some work to do, if he wanted to turn this mission in his favor.

Akrin nodded, as if his words meant more than the kid thought. And they did. They meant that he is not pleased with more incursions on 'his mission'. How did Akrin think come to know this? He hears this voice from every single young Saxon that comes to find some form of power, him included. He sniffed the air wiht his large nostrils and then looked back to Val.

"I assume your doing an ambush? Such concentration on the task at hand must mean something, or someone will be coming." He then shrugged "Don't worry, I'm not here to steal your glory, we all have things to do and enemies to kill, its just who and when that makes us tied together.."

He then got into a more comfortable crouch and took a handful of dirt in his hands and rubbed them together. "How goes your mission so far? Have you met with any form of success or resistance?"

This man talked too much, he had questions, comments, so many things to say and it was annoying Val to an extent. He took a deep breath, trying to ignore him, but if he was going to work alongside him, he must at least, know what the task at hand is. Both of Valraven's eyes ever shifted from their position to the south, awaiting the Knights to gain within a good distance from them, at least enough for him to come out with a good attack.

"The Knights of the Roud Table were summoned, probably to take hold of their Queen, as if they even have a chance to save her. THeir effortless jourey will end with a battle right here." Valraven set both of his knives in their selected pocket. "There are two that I know of for sure heading this way, I believe there could be more, I'll wait and see." The steady wind blew around him, making his hair sway gracefully in the passing breeze.

((With that, I head to bed. x_x))

Akrin nodded yet again. Another fools decision, to face them in an ambush. The question was whether the person that Akrin was sent for is in this group, that is all that matters to him... If not... let the fool attempt glory, then he will find out that its not one young commander that wins the battle, but the entire army working as one, the Saxon way...

Getting up Akrin streched. "Very well, lets see how many there are when they come then..." He then strode into a denser part of the forest...

((good night, and I will be hheading there too))

Ryn rode swiftly on Cale's back, grinning madly at the rush of riding a horse bareback, through a forest. He laughed when he missed a branch, and it hit him in the side of the face, causing a small amount of blood to trickle down it.

"Hehehe... This is the most fun I've had in a while!", he said, riding up beside Lain, and glancing over, his own, still blood splattered crimson clothing, in complete contrast with Lain's.

As the night turned to light, Isilya slumbered on. She was in no way made for the ware and tear of traveling with nothing to do, nor was she used to being ignored so blatantly. Val was always too serious to even acknowledge her presence, gazing at the sky or into the wood seemed to hold his attention much easier, and she was disgusted by the mere dismissals he barked to her every now and again. Perhaps her father had been right. War was no place for a women, even one as strong as she, and she desperately wished she had not been so stubborn.

She awoke calmly, looking around as the wilderness lost it's fuzzy outline and came into focus. She rubbed her eyes lazily, looking about, her eyes falling on Val, and she quickly averted them. She had all but decided to go back to sleep when another sight caught her eye. "Arkin!" She called, climbing from her cumbersome bedroll so quickly she surprised even herself. She ran behind the beast, wrapping her arms around his broad waist and planting a kiss on his belly. She had known him since she was a small babe, nestled in her fathers arms. He would take her to the Saxon training grounds, sense he believed he was the only one who could care for his daughter properly, and in the year that she learned how to walk, she tested her limits with her father. She would run off, teasing the men that played their, or at least to her they played, and one day she ran across someone. She had not been afraid of him, and when her father had finally found her, she held on to the beast leg and cried because she wanted to stay and play as well. As Isilya got older of course she learned his name, Arkin. She would visit him as often as she could, that was until she went into her magical apprenticeship, she hadn't even got the chance to say goodbye to one of her closest friends.

She lifted herself up, and wrapped her arms around his neck, almost on the verge of tears, she hid her face in his fur. She didn't care if Val thought it was weak to show emotion, in her mind, it was one of the things that differentiated man from beast. And from the day she had met Arkin, she had considered him just that, a furry man. "Don't you remember me?" She whispered so Val could not hear her speak. She nuzzled her over-sized ally before pulling away and wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand.

Lain watched as the youth took great pleasure in riding a horse through the woods. It was one of those sensations that could not be matched, for it was so extraordinary, regardless of if you did it even everyday. Lain watched in amusement, it seemed as if Ryn had let his guard down for the moment. Was it a sign that he could be trusted, yes, perhaps, even if just for this one fleeting moment.

He looked over his shoulder at the other Knights who were scattered about the unmarked path. How long would it take for them to reach the Queen? Perhaps a few more days of travel, and a handful of stops to reserve and replenish their collective energy. They all had no idea what hindrances would consume their journey as they progressed, but if Serionia had been any indication, then they would be detoured as often as the enemy saw fit.

Artemis tugged at his reigns and Lain released them in accordance. If anyone knew these would well, it was Artemis, after all, he had been the wild steed Lain had found before the trek through the desert that led them both to Camelot when he was just a youth, but he had been this way many times, so Lain expected, and would know the quickest way through the thick brush and isolating trees.

"I think ti would be best if we ride until a little after midnight before we make camp." He said in a monotone. He wasn't sad, or incredibly happy, just over calculating their journey, letting it take president over any thoughts, even those of Reina. What had happened the night before had not happened once sense their knowledge of one another, and it had occupied his mind when he'd slept, but today was a new day, and only time would tell what would happen between the two, if anything at all.

Artemis, of his own accord, sprang to life without warning. His pride was getting in the way of his duties and he sprinted off, in a way challenging the common bred steed that Ryn was riding. Artemis was aging, that was apparent in the way his eyes seemed to penetrate anyone he looked at, but that did not mean he was as brittle as a bag of bones. He jostled his rider like a sack of potatoes, but Lain did not protest, after all, someone had to have a little fun during this journey, or they would all go mad.

Akrin gave the best he could of a smile as he was embraced. He knew in the letter he was to assist an old friend, and it made him happy she remembered him. She knew him before he even spoke, they both were raised Bomea, and he cared for her. Akrin looked down at her and gave her a small hug, then patted her on the head.

"How could I forget such a brave young girl, hmm? I hoped that I would get to see you smile. I see your father decided to allow you more freedom?" He then patted hr on the head again. "But you best be careful about your volume, it seems we will be getting company some time soon. This will be a good test to your skills young one.. I am glad to see you have grown into a beautifull young warrior."

Akrin, now has another thought on his mind. Isilya was the daughter to his master. This might not be a coincidence to his presence here. He was 9 when she was born, still being trained to be a proper warrior. On her fathers birthday, the year that Akrin was 18, he was given as a gift to Isilya's father.

Akrin scratched his fur, then looked down to the girl. "May the battle bring the fruits of our labor to bear... Let us hope.."
