Liam swooped up a bit as Hazel took the rabbit from him. He bobbed his head at her mid-flight. "Sounds like an idea. I'll go see what he's up to, and then I'll meet up with you again as soon as I find him. He's going to be thrilled to hear our news!" Hooting softly, the Minder flew off to find his charge, making a mental note not to tell Roth.

hazel flew on, looking this way and that for some sentinel she could dump-err, gift this rabbit to. It wasn't that anything was wrong with it, no, she just wanted to get back to Liam. Spotting a bright splot of color heading for where she had remembered the food being, the bird dropped to the ground, landing happily next to Orynn.
"Hi there! You hungry? Want something fresh?" She offered up the rabbit, fluffing with pride and excitement. "It's only been nibbled a bit, but it's very delicious!"
While waiting on the other bird, she couldn't help but notice her lovely colors. Under the bright moon it seemed the mists and lighter Sentinels really glowed. They really were a sight to behold. Though nothing compared to my Liam.. she told herself, unabashedly enamored with the wildtype. He's more handsome by far!

Thorn, meanwhile, had been chasing Roth, who had scurried after some seed when his Sentinel departed. Finally, he caught up to the wayward Skurri, just in time for Liam to return. "Hey! You're back!" the fledgling chirped. He blinked. Liam seemed... different. Kinda goofy-looking. "Are you ok?" The silly look seemed plastered on his Minder's face.
"Leave Roth here. We gotta go find Hazel! We gotta go find Hazel now! Don't wanna tell you without her!!" Without warning, he took off again, leaving Thorn to follow him. In his love-stricken daze, he barely even saw the other Sentinels, focusing on the sleek Deep Woods sharing their kill. Our first action as a pair... He was so tickled by this sentiment, he didn't see the tree. Or the clump of sticks. Or the three other Sentinels he smacked in to.
Thorn, ducking and weaving, got to Hazel first. "Hazel! I think Liam's sick or something... he said you guys had something to tell me, but I don't think he can!"

Bracken turned to look at Fern, "Fern? I love the name Fern, and hello to both of you. I am Bracken," he nodded his head politely at the pair.
"That it is, Geddel, and it's a pleasure to meet you," Medlar replied, then turned to Em, "No, not a crafter. I'm a minder, though I suppose it does sound crafter-like." He looked at Cedar, concerned, "Is everything all right, Cedar?"

Chase had just started savoring a rather large juicy berry with unholy delight when he noticed the commotion behind him. “I'm not sure I can stoooop!" He fluttered out of the way just in the nick of time, swallowing the whole berry in one go. Coughing a little, the large Shadow looked for the source of the disturbance half-angry, half-amused. Just when he was about to say something an older female stepped in and started lecturing the Bard, whose expression became rather miserable. Oh well, no point in wasting time when there were so many nice things to enjoy just a few hops away. Chase turned to banquet once again, crossing paths with a scruffy female carrying a pouch, apparently with some food in it. If he didn’t know better, he’d think the two had done it on purpose. And what an amusing though that was! Chase chuckled to himself and focused his full attention on satisfying his hunger.

Hearing Thorn's distressed calling Hazel bobbed once to the other Sentinel and took off to meet him. Unable to see the wobbling Liam at first, she simply beamed down...or rather, across at the fledgling.
"What did you say? Something Liam wanted to tell you?" She looked around for him again, this time spotting him just as he plowed headlong into some poor passerby. "Liam!" She hooted, flying off to meet and hopefully calm him. "Sit down for a moment you silly thing!" She urged him to a branch, ducking under his wing and waving Thorn over. "I dropped the rabbit off..." She cuddled into the male's side, preening him, smoothing his impact-ruffled feathers. "Did you tell Thorn, love?"

"Wanted to wait and tell him with you. Also didn't wanna say it within Roth's earshot." Liam looked up at Hazel goofily. "Love you."
Thorn saw Hazel prop his Minder up on a branch, then wave him over. He hopped and glided over to them, avoiding the other Sentinels Liam had whacked. "What is it? Are you ok, Liam?"
"Just fine, Thorny boy," Liam assured him, snuggling Hazel close to him. "I wanted to be sure we were together to tell you, but... Hazel's agreed to be my mate."
Thorn blinked, then zoomed under Hazel's free wing, nestling in her feathers like a hatchling. "That's great! Are you gonna be movin' in? We live on the edge of the Deep Woods, and we might have a hatchling soon and are you gonna be around all the time and do cool stuff and I'll have to make you a present and..." He stopped, a look of horror on his face. "Who's gonna tell Roth?"

In a matter of minutes, Snow was able to find a spot to land amidst the crowded grounds bustling with eager eaters and proud providers. Well, that was rather lucky, she thought to herself happily. It was a pleasant surprise that she managed to maneuver between the dense crowd and not accidentally bump into anybody or step on anything.
She stretched herself out and attempted to peer above the other sentinels to see what was still available for her delight, and was about to go investigate a pile of tasty looking berries when someone shouted in panic from behind. Twisting her neck around, she watched in horror as a rather large and clumsy wildtype toppled his way towards her.
"Oh dear!!" Quick reflexes saved her, and while he may have been staging the fall, the poor girl completely fell for it and was genuinely worried for the fellow. Keeping her wings tight against her small frame, she weaved between a few disgruntled sentinels until she stood beside the bard, just in time to hear the harsh tongue lashing he was receiving from the older bird.
Well, that wasn't right at all! It wasn't his fault that he lost his balance and fell, and besides, nobody got hurt!
"Aaww, come on, ma'am, I'm sure he didn't intend to disrespect you with his fall!" she spoke, "we're all quite lucky that nobody was hurt from this and no food was spoiled. Besides, he did try to give us as much of a warning he could so that no harm was done...and I believe he did just that!" She ended her reasoning with a positive outlook, and as much of a smile a beak could produce on her face. Hopefully the other will realize this and end her verbal torment to him! Oh. such young and naive thinking.

What could Hazel do? She couldn't hide her feelings for Liam and more than he could, even if she wasn't all giddy like him. Now that they were back with friends though...the warm feeling was infectious, and soon enough she too was giggling like a fledgling. "I know you do. I love you too."
She leaned fondly on Liam as he informed Thorn of the recent events, watching with amusement the litter bird's reaction. When he rushed to her she gladly folded him into her wing, feeling absolutely surrounded by love. "I will be moving in, yes. Silly, I know where you live! Though the last time I visited, you were just a little thing of a hatchling." She frowned when Roth came up. "Oh dear...that is a problem." The skurri would be upset she knew. "Maybe I should..." Seeing as she was the one he liked, that might be best, but then...it would be a mess, she just knew it.

Liam thought for a moment. "Although... you will be around more... perhaps he'll appreciate that... especially if you'll be moving in with us." He nibbled her ear tuft fondly. "Maybe we can track you down a girl Skurri, even, to distract him." This was wonderful. Here he was, surrounded by friends, and, for the first time, a proper family. He filed the moment away in his mind, then scanned the area for more acquaintances to tell.
Just then Roth walked in with a pimp cane and a female Skurri on each paw.

Linnéa had barely started to get worked up when Snow interfered. She turned her head around to face the young female, but didn't bother moving the rest of her body. Linnea listened in silence but with a disapproving frown. It nearly looked like she would see reason, and Birch relaxed visibly behind her.
"Nobody hurt," she muttered and seemed to deflate, "He scared my Rose away, that's what he did. She's so sensitive, poor heart."
The old bird looked crushed by the temporary loss of her companion.
"It's irresponsible flying, is what it is," she huffed and fluffed up angrily, then whipped back towards Birch with narrowed eyes, "Have you been stuffing yourself with fermented fruit?"
"What?" Birch said and took a few steps back, "No!"
But it was impossible to say more than a few words before Linnéa started lecturing Birch and everyone else closer than 20 wingbeets on the importance of responsible flying. She sure could be loud.
Birch tried to make himself small and apologetic as Linnéa's lecture blurred into a furious stream of words where he could only pick out "irresponsible" "outrage" "youngsters today" "no respect" and "your mother will hear about this!"
Wait, what?

((Oh my god, Linnea is hilarious!!))
Before Tousled could make up her mind on whether to try to intervene on Birch's behalf or not, another female stepped up and tried to calm the raging old lady. A beautiful, snow-white Mist female. Something twisted around in Tousled's chest at the sight of the gorgeous creature speaking on behalf of her bard, and it filled her with such a strong sense of determination that she didn't even think about appearances as she pushed her way up to the little group.
"Birch!!" She yelled at the top of her little voice, making it tremble with strain - which was good, because that made it sound properly urgent. "Oh, Birch! There you are!" She rudely inserted herself right between the bard and his assailant, speaking as quickly and shrilly as she could. "Where have you been! You have to hurry, you're up next!!" She started shooing at him, ducking down in a semi-threatening stance with her wings half unfolded - and hoped to Noctus that the berries she had tucked away among her feathers would stay there - trying to look as official and stressful as possible. "Go on! Go on! No time for snacks, we don't have all night, you know!"

"Oh..." Snow felt for the old lady as she lamented over her dear Rose. While she never had a companion of her own, she can certainly relate with her more recent separation from her family. Granted, hers was more intended than the frightened companion, but it was the best the sentinel could compare with, and in the end, gave the same results: she felt bad for her.
And she would have continued to do so until the bugger exploded in a tirade of morals. "Erm..." Completely taken off guard, she took a few steps back and just watched in conflicted torment [to flee or not to flee?] as Linnéa's words raged on. "But...it was an accident...." She could hardly tell if anybody heard her voice at all through the commotion, and she began to feel a little helpless until a new voice entered the scene.
Birch? He must be the bard standing beside her. After sweeping the rows of sentinels around, she spotted the other speaker, and was instantly enthralled by her appearance. Oh, to be so confident to carry one-self with feathers protruding so...so....expressively. Yes, that was a good word to describe it. She watched her in admiration, not wanting to leave without knowing for sure that things will end on good terms.

Raine tilted her head, and adjusted her course, quickly gliding towards the faint sounds of the festival. Oh, how she longed to be part of the gathering of so many other Sentinels. You don't deserve it, she chided herself. What have you done to merit such happiness? She sighed, turning away for the millionth time from the invisible warmth radiating from the party. It had sounded like so much fun, too, with all the laughter and merry-makings. Sighing wistfully, Raine once again found herself involuntarily veering towards the gathering. "Oi, Rae-Rae! Make up mind and go!" piped up Hazel, her Martes, "Hazel knows you wants to!" Bouncing off of the dense tree-branches, Hazel bounded off, chattering. "Hazel have fun, Rae-Rae have fun! You see!" With a shake of her head, Raine called back. "We're only there to see the rumored chick, nothing more..." Certainly not to join in on the festivities...or nibble the undoubtably delicious food...she privately added, before putting on an extra burst of speed towards the multitude of Sentinel silhouettes.
