Well that was interesting...
'shush you!' -Merala sent the though like a spear towards her Guardian-
"My name is Merala," -she replied, smiling at his unintentional reply- "What in the sky is so distracting, to take you away from this well-rehearsed dance?"

"Lady Merala," he replied with a nod, locking the name in his mind. He always tried to remember the names of his Aunt's subjects, though his success was mixed. His soft voice continued in answer to her question. "And it is not the sky that has me so fascinated. It is but a silly dream that haunts me. Things that naturally plague royalty; honor, pride, responsibility. All things that keep me from doing what I wish."
He nervously pawed the ground, though he did not know it. It was a habit that was born of being the center of attention since birth. He did not like to be questioned so. She was fine for now, but if she dug too deep he would be forced to retreat and then he wouldn't be able to watch the others.

-his pawing at the ground was an easy enough sign for her to read- 'Doesn't want to talk about it, eh? No problem...'
"Ah... I see." -she replied- "Well, then maybe you should try to take your mind off of those responsibilities? It is really quite amusing watching Charlotte turn the Herla back into belligerent children." -gesturing with her head back towards the action- "I don't know who's idea it was to argue with her, but I think Charlotte almost killed one or two of them..."

Tristam actually laughed at that. "Yes. My fair cousin is truly blinding in her talent to rile spirits, whether for good or ill. Let's hope that they all band together in unity to accomplish this goal, or we will never be done with it."
His foot relaxed to the ground. Yes, he loved his cousin dearly, and her temper only made him more fond of her. Command was her cloak and power her horns. She would have made an excellent Queen were it not for her lack of the Seeing Eyes. When the time came for him to take the throne, he would most likely have need to rely on her influence to keep the Hartlands running smoothly.

"Good days ahead of you," Benholz answered, giving her own odd version of a greeting and inclining her head. She looked where Bara had been looking, then glanced around, and eventually settled back on the doe. Smiling slightly, she inclined her head again. "I am Benholz, fortune-teller, reader of the future."
Etcetera, etcetera...
Shut up, Alonso!

"I'm sure their just excited to be doing something, and once things are settled up to leave they'll calm down a little. That, or Charlotte really will have to take them out. She'll control the situation regardless." -turning her head towards the group-
"I wonder what the plan is? Is Rolan going to track the creatures?" -looks back at Tristam-

"I haven't a clue, dear lady. Since I am not going, they have not felt the need to inform me of their plans." His voice was not bitter, merely resigned. And secretly he was relieved. He didn't feel that decision making was part of his skill set yet, an unfortunate thing for a Prince.

Lumi felt her self begin to nod off... She looked in the direction of the pearl Herla she had heard him be referred to as Iris, and smiled as he poked at the shiney peices of metal he'd found. She sook her head a few times to clear the sleep from her mind. She would most likely need to be slightly sharp for this event, keep her eyes and ears open after all. She smiled softly as she did eventually closed her eyes and began to softly drift into an unconcious state, while thinking of the glorious winter wonderland they'd soon be entering, only to have her eyes snap open as an aconr came down upon her head with a loud *thunk*

"Good... days?" she said faintly. She wondered what that could be. "A fortune-teller? How interesting..." Bara said.

Lumi let out a heavy sigh, she began to paw at the ground anxiously and almost felt like laying down for a moment or two. Fore some reason, she was becoming very bored... almost as if they'd been waiting there for days... rather than for just a few hours.

Rook listened to Charlotte in silence, eyes on the ground and expression profoundly apologetic. Hopefully she would understand that his intent was not to undermine her authority or overstep his bounds -- he just didn't want the angry buck to leave alone. It could be dangerous; a Herla alone could get lost or killed. Mind, Rook didn't know how his presence would have helped in those worst-case scenarios, but at least there would have been a slightly higher chance of him being able to find the main group and get help. Not that any of that was relevant -- he bowed his head in deference and went to stand with his group. He wasn't the type to talk back or make excuses to his superiors.
His Guardian's whispering, previously discreet hintings (take the initiative, trust your instincts, you belong with the other group, my bird, so why are you running away?) grew more insistent -- and distracting. As he paced over to stand next to the other members of Rolan's group, he briefly shut his eyes and shook his head as if to clear it, hoping she'd get the hint. No matter what she thought, he wasn't about to act on his own and risk antagonizing Charlotte. Goodness knows what angering Herla nobility would get him... probably kicked off the search team, at best, and he didn't want to think about worst.
He briefly scanned the remaining Herla, noting the presence of the odd character who'd been intoning dire warnings earlier. They didn't seem to be going anywhere fast, though, so for the moment he lingered on the edges, hoping to avoid further confrontation. Perhaps he could make amends by being helpful later on, but for now, he just hoped to catch a few names so he didn't feel quite so awkward in this group.

Iris had grown bored with the shiny pieces of metal he had found. Eventually kicking them away he trotted off toward a thicket of bushes mindful to stay in sight. His attention span no longer then that of a gnat. Nosing around these bushes he met with an unsavory creature. Hissing and rattling the snake slithered from its hiding spot snapping at the Pearl. Jumping back, Iris knew the warning signs and quickly trotted away hiding himself behind the rest of his group though he watched the slimy creature slither back in it's bush hurriedly.
"Aww..." Iris pouted kicking a stray rock. Eventually he found it better to sit under the shade of a tree then go nosing about. He didn't feel much like getting bit by a snake any time soon. "When are we leaving?" He asked no one in particular, more a whisper under his breath as he snorted, his moth friend fluttering animatedly around him finally settled on a dandelion to bath in the rich sun. His guardian chuckled softly a notion that was similar to being petted comfortingly. "Patience little one..." her words came in a calm tone but she doubted like so many times before that the Pearl would even hear her.

"Indeed!" Benholz said gleefully at Bara's interest, flicking her ears and tail happily, fluttering her wings so they buzzed softly in a sudden lull. Dropping her voice, she shook the braids back from her face and smiled at the other doe. "The future is a strange place, and those who can divine it find themselves in a unique situation." She paused for dramatic effect, and promptly got distracted by the arrival of a handsome, if scarred, buck. Tilting her head, she looked from him to the one-eyed doe and smiled slightly.
"Good days ahead..." she began, and then trailed off, tilting her head and considering him. He seemed a rather sad fellow...and she was aware only of the future, not of the past. This would be an interesting young buck to meet. "Good days ahead of you," she began again, flashing a genuine, if somewhat odd, smile to Rook.

Lumi laughed slightly and nudged Rook as he made his way back into the crowd. "congratulations," she said humor in her eyes; "good days are ahead of you." She said in thick and heavy roman sounding accent. More like whispered actually becuase she didn't want the 'fortune teller' to over hear her. After all... What if she really DID have some sort of supernatural power?

Chanda smiled to Makio, he was such a kind herla. Now, she found it hard to belive she'd been spooked by him earlier. He seemed almost like a faun, but she couldn't help but wonder if there was something behind that, like Bane.. The pale herla tossed her head, and laughed lightly, "I wonder when we're going to leave...*
