Noah walked outside, Zeff was a huge jerk. Outside two people were about to enter the Baratie, "They're closed." said Noah. The two ignored him and walked inside. He heard two distinct shouts and looked inside. One was on the floor and the other was getting kick, approximately six. There was an uppercut involved as well. For an old man he sure was powerful, luckily Noah hadn't gotten him that angry. This was precisely why he needed to learn attacks from Zeff, the man had unrivaled power when dealing with kicks.

Zeff walked outside to where Noah was standing. Noah prepared himself, who knew how angry Zeff was. He had already seen how he acted towards others who broke his restaurant's rules. "Alright kid, what is it?" asked Zeff waiting for a straight forward answer. Noah was surprised, he though Zeff was going to attack him. "Why are you helping me?" asked Noah. "Since you're outside you're not breaking the rules of the Baratie." maybe Zeff wasn't all that bad, "Teach me, you know how your kick like that." Zeff nodded, "I already showed you." Noah smirked, "Not everything." said Noah. Zeff made a half smile, "Yeah sure, only cause I don't think you're ready." Both men kicked at each other, their kicks connected in a clishe-esque manner.

Noah and Zeff were fairly the same in their method of battle. Zeff was able to get in far more hits but Noah could keep up to an extent. They continued on, Noah learning from each and every kick. He noticed Zeff operated in six kick intervals which he began to do as well. He was learning so much from this spar and was even enjoying himself. It had been a little while since he had battled using only his body, people like Yassop had taught him how to use a gun but ignored the fact that their bodies needed to be powerful.

"Seems like you've got it kid." said Zeff. Noah and him both stopped, "Thank you Zeff. You are probably the craziest old man I have ever met, but you sure as hell are strong." said Noah as he began to walk out the door. Zeff grabbed his shoulder, "Why not stare here on the Baratie? We can teach you to love food, both eating it and making it." Noah smiled, "No thanks, cookings for women."
Noah was bred for something better than cooking, something more exciting and dangerous. He wasn't sure where he would go next however he we going to keep moving.

"Don't you ever disgrace the fine profession of chef!" shouted Zeff as he rushed towards Noah. He kicked him hard enough to send him flying into the air. He was prone to other attacks, unable to move. He felt helpless, Zeff could have snapped him in half right there. A shooting pain started in his back and moved upwards. "s**t." he managed to grunt. In a time of life or death, a man only has a chance to utter one word and he chooses 's**t'. Noah didn't even think he just said it.
Noah realized this wasn't a technique Zeff had taught him and therefor he was annoyed as well as worried.

1/4 kick uppercut
PostPosted: Thu Feb 19, 2009 6:52 pm

"That's my kick uppercut" uttered Zeff as Noah hit the floor. He staggered up, onto his feet. "Crap. That hurt" he said. Zeff smirked, "Next time don't insult my trade. I know chefs who could wipe the damn floor with you rookie." Zeff seemed really angry at Noah's last comment. It was designed to piss Zeff off however he wasn't expecting an attack. Noah, now feeling much better decided he would get back at Zeff. He threw a quick kick in an upwards direction to send Zeff flying. However it wasn't as easy as he expected.

Zeff smirked, as Noah failed. "Looks like you're the only woman here." Noah was enraged, he was a bit of a sexist thinking that battle was no place for a woman. He kicked upwards this time he aimed in a specific spot, the base of the back. Zeff flew up into the air and slammed back into the floor. The window to attack Zeff once more was narrow however it was present. It was probably the most useful kick that Zeff knew. Zeff's descent was hard, too hard he didn't get up. He was just an old man.

Noah decided to leave him up there lying on the ground. It wouldn't be worth the trouble to move his body, nor was there anything worth learning for the geezer anyway. He kicked the floor of the Baratie just out of disrespect, he hated the place now he would always associate it with pain and wrinkles.
He took out a cigarette and lit it up. It had been awhile since his last. As he took a quick drag he hoped off the Baratie and into his own ship. He wasn't sure if he wanted to stay in the East Blue after what had gone down.

Gina stepped on deck and called out. "Anybody heeeeere?!" She whirled around as a dull clunking sound was heard, and Zeff walked up. "This early in the morning, you'd better be a customer, kid," he growled. Gina grinned nervously. "Uhm, no, not exactly. I came here to ask you to teach me your kicks." He sighed. "You and the rest of them. Well, alright, I've got nothing better to do, so fine." Gina beamed.

Lethal Kick: 1/2

Zeff led Gina to a room full of human-shaped wooden dummies. He took a kick to one's head and stomach, and it splintered to pieces. "Now you do it," Zeff said. Gina smirked. "No problem." She aimed a high kick to the dummy's head, knocking it to the ground. The next dummy's stomach had a large gaping dent in it. Zeff stared at it. "You've got a bit of talent there in your kicking, kid.. who taught you to kick like that?" Gina laughed. "My brother taught me."

"Next, kid, is the 2 Kick Combo. One kick to the head, and then the stomach." Gina snickered. "Isn't that the same as what I just did, Chef?" "Humor me." "Okay," Gina said, rolling her eyes. She aimed a kick to the dummy's head and stomach, but her right leg twinged in pain. She yelled out in pain and lifted her pants leg. There was a rather large splinter in her foot.

2 Kick Combo: 1/4

Gina's eyes were welling up with painful tears, but she blinked them back and removed the splinter. She tore off her sleeve and wrapped it around her foot, and continued as if nothing had happened. hough her eyes showed the pain. "Guess you're going on your other leg, eh, kid?" Zeff said calmly. Gina sighed and nodded. "Might as well." She stood on the injured foot without flinching and kicked at the dummy's head, but her right knee gave way, and she fell.

2 Kick Combo: 2/4

Gina snarled and whacked her head on the floorboards, cursing violently and thrashing about in frustration, until Zeff lifted her up and held her hanging in the air. "That's enough. You're worse than the Crap-Kid." Gina stopped struggling, and grinned. "That's a major compliment comin' from you, old geezer. But thanks. Lemme go now." Gina dropped to the floor. "Ow. So not what I meant." Zeff laughed.

2 Kick Combo: 3/4

Gina stood up and stood steadily on her injured foot, ignoring the pain. She sighed and kicked out at the dummy, and her leg never wavered as she kicked its head and stomach. "I did it!" Gina shouted, jumping up and down and punching the air. She winced coming down, but she was still too excited to pay attention as much.

"Alright, Zeff, what's next?" "Next is the Kick Uppercut. You kick someone, most often the chest or just under the chin, and fling your enemies into the air, making them vulnerable to most attacks. Here, I'll show you." Zeff kicked a dummy hard and sent it flying. Gina squealed with delight and did a backflip, but slipped on her injured foot and fell on her back.Zeff shook his head.

Kick Uppercut: 1/4

"Alright, you try it now." Gina stepped up to a dummy and, careful not to hurt her leg again, kicked the dummy up in the air, but it didn't go too high. She tried again. This time, fueled by her frustration at her injured leg, she kicked it into the ocean far away. "Is that right?" she asked Zeff. He shook his head. "You need to kick it straight up, not to the side. Try kicking with your left foot. It may be harder because you're using your hurt foot as your plant foot, but you can still try."

Kick Uppercut: 2/4

Gina nodded. "Okay, swith plant foot. I'll try that." She gently switched her weight to her right foot and kicked the dummy with her left. It went straight up and fell exactly where it had stood a moment ago. "Cool! I got it!" Zeff nodded. "Try with your original foot, and kick it the way you did with this one." "Gotcha," Gina said, switching, and she tried again, but with her right foot.

Kick Uppercut: 3/4

The dummy went flying high up into the sky, like when Gina had used her left foot, and fell back down in the same spot. "Awright! I got it again! I can be ambidextrous with an injured foot, too!" Gina punched the air, but did not do a backflip this time, being cautious. Zeff nodded. "Next move, right?" Gina turned to him and grinned. "You got it, Chef!"

"Alright, this next move is called 6 Kick Combo. You take an uppercut, and switch to five kicks to the stomach. Okay? Now try it." "Okay," said Gina, stepping up to the dummy. She kicked it once and sent it flying, and when it came down, she sent five swift kicks to its stomach, shredding it to a pile of straw. Gina yawned. "Whether or not I got it, I think I'll take a break." Zeff nodded. "Fine with me."

6 Kick Combo: 1/6

Gina lay back and soon fell asleep. Zeff went back inside to serve his customers until she woke up. When she did, she felt tired still, and went back to sleep. And yet again, she woke, and tried the 6 Kick Combo again. Uppercut to the chest, five kicks to the stomach. And again, and again, and again, until Zeff came back out to watch her, saying nothing. Gina eventually got tired, and sat back down. She looked at Zeff standing there. "Have you been there the whole time?"

6 Kick Combo: 2/6

Zeff nodded. "You're trying too hard. Kick style isn't about brute strength, it's about finding your enemy's weak spot and attacking it." "The weak spot being?" "The stomach, chest, and a certain spot for men." Gina giggled. "Oh, yes, I know of that spot. It's my favorite technique. But enough of that. Show me how to do the kick again." "Very well." He did it again, and Gina watched the exact spot he kicked.

6 Kick Combo: 3/6

"Alright, I think I know how you did it, so, here goes-" Gina kicked the dummy sharply to the chest, sending it flying, and went down on her hands and spin-kicked the dummy five times, sending it thudding down a few feet away. Gina sat up, smiling. "That was fun and all, but it made me dizzy." "You didn't have to do it like that." "But it was more fun." Zeff rolled his eyes. "Almost as foolish as the kid." Gina smirked.

6 Kick Combo: 4/6

"Can I try it a couple more times, Chef? I think I'll get the hand of it better the more I practice." Zeff nodded. "Just don't hurt yourself, kid." Gina grinned. "I won't." She kicked the dummy once again, then went back down on her hands and tried the spin-kicks again, this time managing to steady herself coming back up. She looked around. "That's enough. You've ruined enough of my training dummies for one day."

6 Kick Combo: 5/6

"So did I get it, Chef? Did I? Did I?" Gina asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Yeah, yeah, you got it, now come inside and I'll fix you up something to eat." "It'd be an honor, Chef, but I think I'll get going. I've stayed too long now anyway." "Don't starve yourself, kid!" he called back as she sailed away in her tiny One-Man boat. Same old Red. Still kickin'. She waved back at him, beaming as she sailed away.

Kale; now rested and ready to go decided that it was finally time that she return to Baratie. She entered and looked around, it was quiet and then she heard a smash. With a laugh, she bypassed people who were quietly eating -- to enter a kitchen. Carefully, dodging out of the way of a flying knife. "What are you doing in here girl?!" A large man yelled, standing in front of a grill, fixing something. Kale bounced over to him; "I just wanted a few pointers!" She told him honestly, smiling at the man politely. "You see this girl?!" He said pointing to a large piece of raw meat that he was spicing.

{1/4; Chump Roast}

"Yes?" Kale questioned. "This is a roast! A Delicious roast, that I will serve to my customers!" He seemed angerier and angerier by the second, but continued on. He rubbed the spices in and Kale watched. His hands were quick, well used to this sort of cooking and it interested Kale, because though she was a perfectionist at candy making, she was not as skilled in the works of 'spicing meat'. It was interesting her more and more, as he patted it. "You've got to show it love girl, because only then will the food love you back!" He yelled, and Kale leaned back. "Okay." She said plugging her ears.

{2/4; Chump Roast}

He then glanced to the heated grill. "It's going to sear to perfection." He told her, leaning in. "The key is to let it cook, but take it off -- right before you like your meat, and set it." He told her, and slowly; with some tongs placed it on the grill. He pushed Kale in front of the grill. "You stand there." He told her. Handing her the tongs. "I know a chef when I see one." He nodded, almost puffing out. "I want you to watch it, once it sears, turn it -- and take it off. Then place it on this plate." He pushed one at her. "And use this fork, to pull it." He ordered. "Got all of that?!"

{3/4; Chump Roast}

Kale nodded, being left alone now to the food that he so delicately spiced. She watched it, eying it, and touching it; testing it's tenderness as well as the resistance. It was how she tested whether it was cooked. Finally she pulled it off of the grill, and laid it on the platter, to rest. Watching it, a moment, then she used a larger fork to begin pulling it apart, like pork. When he returned, part of it was pulled and the other half not. "See, I did it." She turned -- but it was him, it was a different guy. "Oh, he had you make that huh?" said this man, his voice a bit different. "I'll have you make something else too!" He yelled grabbing her hand.

Kale yelped as she was pulled away and pushed in front of a bowl of eggs and other ingredients. He pushed her, and she pushed him back. "Cut it out!" She demanded and he laughed pleasantly. "Alright, calm down!" He told her. "Now cook." He told her. Kale frowned, not understanding him correctly. "Make me something." He said again, and waved his hand towards the large amount of cooking. Kale nodded her head a bit -- "Okay." She replied simply and slowly took up an egg. "Don't be afraid of it girl!" He said. "You've got 10 minutes." He told her, turning to leave the kitchen -- again leaving Kale by herself.

{1/4; Eggs Benefit}

Kale looked over the ingredients for a moment, and could almost hear the clock ticking. She took a breath and put a pan on the stove, and turned it on, pouring some oil into it, greasing the bottom of the pan. She let that heat, as she took another bowl, cracking the eggs into it. She used a fork and began to stir up the eggs. Humming to herself. She was enjoying this actually. She chopped up some onions, garlic, parsley. She set those aside, while she chopped up some tick pieces of bacon. Grinning, she put the bacon down in the pan, it searing, and crackling. Using a wooden spoon and stirring the bacon.

{2/4; Eggs Benefit}

She listened to the crackling, content and then added the onions and other items into it, those searing and mixing in with the bacon flavor. She stirred a bit for those and then added some salt and pepper. This was how she liked to cook; alone. It was easier, no one looking over her shoulder and demanding that she do something a certain way. After she did that, she grabbed some wine, white -- that was sitting there and took a sip. Perfect. She poured a little bit in, adding flavor too it. She salted, and peppered the eggs and slowly added them into the pan. Not flipping, or stirring. Letting them cook, she began to shred some cheese.

{3/4; Eggs Benefit}

Tossing in the shredded cheese, it began to melt, as she pulled out a plate. Carefully, she tested the eggs, and then slowly laid them out on the plate, flipping it, just a bit at the end, an omelet. She took some parsley, and placed it on top, to make it look pretty and then turned as the man returned. "Up." He said and looked at her played omelet. He frowned, a plain omelet? He took a fork and cut a piece off and took a bite. Slowly, chewing and then his eyes opened wider. "That's..." He made a pleased noise. "Delicious!" He told her proudly. "What is that...that taste." He wanted to know. "Wine." She said and smiled. "See you later -- tell Zeff, I said Hello." She left with that, very simple.

Cindy's travels had soon brought her to this ocean restaurant which she had heard so much about. She heard the food her was absolutely delicious and she wished to try it. In fact, after her encounter with that odd merman she would probably have a big plate of fish! She walked onto the boat causing the bell above the door to ring as she did so. Slowly she examined the restaurant and noticed how nice it looked. Though she really didn't have time to look around because she was immediately stopped by a rather large looking man holding a menu.

Lethal Kick 1/2

"Hello! My name is Patti and I will be your server today!" The man said with a very upbeat voice. Cindy couldn't help but smile at him. "Please, step this way." Patti said as he led her over to a nearby table. Though right as they left the doorway a very scruff man with a peg man walked over to the door caring a once was customer. He threw him into the air and then delivered a lethal kick using his peg leg that sent the man flying all the way out into the ocean. "And stay out you no good deadbeat bum!" He yelled out as he flew.
