In a Greek legend, there is a fox that cannot be caught. This guy has to catch it, so he gets this legendary hound that catches it's every pray. But this situation is impossible, because they can't exist at the same time like that, so Zeus had to break it and turn them both into stars.
And in my country's legends, the magical fox causes the aurora on the sky. He cannot be caught by anyone, ever. And when he runs and his tail touches the snow, it creates a spark that lights the sky into flames - and that is how the Aurora is born every time. Also, in my country's fairy tales, foxes are always being very annoying when they use magic or just smartass tricks to prank humans and other animals.
