Neji quickly got off of Naruto and dusted himself off.

'Eww...that was nasty.'

Inwardly, he shuddered. Hinata always was a strange one when she was sick...Neji cringed as he remembered that fateful day where he was assinged to watch Hinata while she had cold...

"Hey, Neji-b*****d! I shaved your head while you were alseep, hope ya don't mind!" Hinata grinned innocently with a pair of scissors in her hand.

Neji leaped up to the mirror. There was...n-n-o...hair!

"NOOOOOOOO!!!"

And in the background Hinata laughed aloud in the most evil way possible.

Worse that Orochimaru? Why yes, yes it was.

When Ino had reached Sakura she went to put her hand on her shoulder when she just yelled at her, and dissapeared. She growled and yelled, "Fine Sakura! Though I would just try to help!" She then walked far away. She was still a bit frustrated with Shikamaru. He had made her so mad. Just falling asleep while she was talking to him. The nerve of some people.

Her day was going just great...not!

As she continuted walkeing she grabbed ahold of her arms, to see if that would make her warmer. She knew at this rate if she was out in this cold any longer, then she was going to get sick. That could mean not going to the dance. NO! She wouldn't let that happen. She then quickly jumped off somewhere, hoping to get home or somewhere else for shelter soon.

``````````
There was a long deep sigh from the sixteen year old ninja. He had been waiting for quite some time, and still no sign of TenTen or Sakura, "Wonder what they are doing?" He had been holding onto his arms, because the wind had been blowing harder and harder. He sighed. What if something happened to them both while they were out? That would not be a good thing. He then decided that he was going to look for them.
After all he wanted to make sure everything was ok. He quickly jumped over the one side of the porch, and headed into the blizzard. He had made a sligh sneeze, but that was just from the wind...right?
((Ok then I have Lee get there evanually ^^))
Naruto growled. Tenten had actually saved his life there. Getting Neji off his back, (who happened to be heavy.) He grumbled a few curse words, and leaned back against the wall.
So. Hinata had a fever. Neji covered his eyes because Hinata had a fever, or was he missing just a few details there.
Sakura say Sasuke coming towards her. "No way. Not happening again." She said in her mind. She was not going to hallucinate this time. As if Sasuke would come and save her.
Her eyes widened. The Sasuke figure just went under the water. She blinked, was that just real?
Slowly but surely, her strength was starting to leave her. "I-Its.. So cold.." She thought, teeth still chattering while trying to haul herself up onto the surface. She wasn't worried about the damn rules of keeping calm. She wanted OUT and she wanted it NOW.
She clawed desperately at the ice. Her mittens weren't helping, seeing as each finger didn't have it's own space to move. She closed her eyes. "Oh my god. I never got to do everything I wanted to do in life! I never got to go to the dance, shopping with Tenten for our dresses, play a real matchmaker, and..." She paused her train of thought for a moment. "I never got the chance to find out what Sasuke meant... I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!"
Slowly, she started losing her grip on the ice. Her breath got caught in her throat. Was she really going to die here? She always invisioned her death as her protecting the village, not dying alone in some pond hallucinating Sasuke was there with her. If she had anymore energy left, she would have rolled her eyes.
Her last thought before completely sublmerging in the water was, "Guess this is the way it's supposed to be."
Strangely enough, Hinata woke up rather quickly from her passing out. Feeling sweaty, she reached up with her hand to swipe her forehead but then instead began hacking loudly; making such big coughes she was doubling over and losing her breath. She could've sworn that she needed to puke.
Actually, she really needed to. Quietly, she spoke out, "Tenten...I need the toilet. NOW."
---
Neji was still outside doing nothing. Of course, he should've gne to report to Hiashi but...
"If she does not get better soon, you shall recieve maximum punishment."
...Yeah. He wasn't going anytime soon.
Hearing the sudden onslaught of coughes, he thought back to when he had colds. His father always said that a little alchohol was good for the throat...
Sighing, he made his way down the hall to the kitchen. Hopefully the main branch had some decent sake...
[[Umm...I really don't know if alchohol really does that, but let's just say it does for the sake of the story. ^^;]]
[Okay, but somehow.. I don't think anyone's going for logic here~ xD;]
Oh, how Sasuke wanted to kick himself. "I can't.. die here.."
Why the hell did all of his close encounters with death involve ICE!?
He opened his eyes, but only barely. The temperate of the water caused them to burn, and that of course didn't help the pain he felt now that he was submerged in the liquid ice; when he first fell in it felt as though needles were continuously stabbing his entire body. The feeling was subsiding now, only to be replaced by numbness.
Reacting quickly, he pushed toward the surface, breathing in a deep breath the instant he reached the top. He learned that was a bad idea, though, when the stabbing feeling happened in his lungs. "Dammit!" He ignored that for now, and looked around for Sakura. She was.. gone?!
Inhaling deeply, he dove back under the water without a second thought. He swam in the direction he had last seen her, having to swim quite some distance before he was able to see her due to the lack of light underneath the ice.
Every so often a voice in his head would remark, "It's so cold.."
When he reached her, he wrapped his arm around her waist and began to pull her to the surface. "Stay awake, stay alive.." He had to get her out of the water.. this was far from a humorous situation. They could both die if he wasn't fast enough.
Once their heads were above the water, he started to push through the already cracked ice and head to shore, his grip around her not once loosening.
Tenten had already processed the situation before Hinata had to say something. She quickly, yet VERY carefully, pulled the girl up, and helped her to the bathroom, which thankfully, there was one connected to the girl's room.
She cautiously put the girl by the toilet, and began to pull her hair back gently for her. Many times, after throwing up, a person would feel better, and there really would be no sickness. Tenten prayed that this was the case, because it wouldn't be nice if she was sick for the dance.
Silently she wondered what Sakura was doing. She hoped that she wasn't worrying herself too much over Naruto and Hinata. Little did she know, Sakura was having FAR more troubles.
Regurgitating something that looked like a bowl of green oatmeal, Hinata silently wished for real food. The smell of the stuff was horrbile!
'What I wouldn't do for some sushi right now...or bread for that matter.'
Then again, sushi probably wouldn't help with the raw fish. Eating anything in general probably wouldn't be smart; she'd probably throw it back up anyways.
Still, Hinata was HUNGRY, so as soon as she was done throwing up she asked, "Tenten...c-c-can I have something t-to eat please? With some t-tea maybe?"
---
Neji looked inside the cabins for a while before finding some high-class sake imported from the Konoha fields. Taking it out, he placed it beside a cup of tea he had gotten prepared. He would just add a little to spike the tea a bit; he didn't need a drunk cousin now...
Pouring just a little bit of the sake into the tea, probably no more than a tablespoon or two, Neji set it aside and put the sake back. Carefully, he picked up the tea and headed back for Hinata's room. Hopefully, this would help her get better.
Sakura had slowly begun to sink down into the cold depths of the pond. Her eyes were closed, and everywhere on her body was stinging with pain. It felt as if needles were being pushed into her skin all over her body.
Suddenly, she felt a slightly warmer source aound her waist, and was pushing them upward. Finally taking notice to the burning feeling in her chest, she begun to realize that she was in desperate need of some air now.
Hitting the surface, she took a big breath with her nose. She couldn't find the power to open her eyes. She felt so cold and weak right now that all she could do was let whoever it was holding ontop her, help her.
[x]*blinks* Dude. Everyone's going to be SO sick in time for the dance. D: Lol.[/x]
[[Not MY character! *smirk*.....yet. >>;;;]]
"Well, when I'm sick like that, my mom gives me bread and butter. I'll go get you some of that. There's tea on your counter in your room." she said, handing Hinata a wet towel to wash her face, and walked to the door.
"If you need something else, call out."
She walked out, hoping that Hinata would be okay for the dance. Discarding her negative thoughts, she left Hinata's room back to the kitchen, and stopped when she saw Neji holding a cup of tea. She peeked down the hall, to the kitchen and noted the bottle of sake.
He spiked her tea. True, it was a remedy to buzz the patient a bit to get their mind off of pain.
However, her and Neji tried the remedy on LEE. Tenten NEVER knew that someone could react to so little alcohol so...violently.
She never trusted the remedy again.
"Neji," she warned. "You are NOT giving Hinata spiked tea. What if she has no resistance like Lee?! She'll tear the house down, and then Hiashi going to have your a** handed to you on a silver platter."
Oh yes, she knew of Hiashi's harsh punishments. She would never forget the day her crush ran to her house, ran IN her house, and hid under her bed whispering, "Scary....so scary....so scary...so scary..." for over seven hours.
That was creepy, and even though she kind of liked the thought of Neji being in her room, she REALLY didn't want another one of THOSE occurances.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:53 pm
[[Oh you will...xD -cackles-]]
Neji sighed. Of course he had thought about that time, but he already knew how Hinata would react...
It just still wouldn't be pretty. "Tenten, Hinata won't act like that. My father tried this on her when she was little and it did work. It's just that...while she'll be perfectly fine, her mouth will get...loose. And she'll start saying pretty much everything she keeps to herself. When she gets sick, she acts like a completely different person," Neji shuddered, "but if she gets some alchohol...she'll just be a bit of a blabber mouth."
Oh yes, the Hyuuga's heiress had very strange reactions to things. When she got confused, she was more than likely to attack the first person who spoke. Or if Hinata was bored out of her mind, she'd pull you into a closet and lock you there in the dark with a glaring puppet with red eyes to see what you'd do. Who knew that for all of Hinata's shyness, she was really twisted and brutal inside? Then again, those years of being neglected by the clan had to do something to her mental condition...
---
Hinata smiled. There would be food at last...and the prospect of butter made it all the better.
Still, she was bored, and there was no one around to pull into a closet. Carefully, she got out of bed and poked her head outside the door. Looking left, then right, she saw Naruto.
Instantly panicking, she stepped back inside and shut the door. 'Come on Hinata, get some back bone...'
So she opened the door just a little bit more and quietly spoke (her voice was still a little bad), "N-N-Naruto-kun, I-I didn't k-know you were h-h-here! W-When'd you c-c-come?"
Apparently, she didn't remember her tirade from earlier.
At that moment he didn't care about scolding her for being so.. careless, he only cared about reaching shore and taking her some place warm; her house was the first place that came to mind. He only hoped it wasn't too far away. The cold was beginning to affect his thought process..
Sasuke was easily able to make a path to land, and he was sure to lift Sakura out of the water first before crawling out himself.
So there she lay, and there he sat, shivering and hesitating for some reason. .. Was she even conscious? He couldn't tell from his current position.. There wasn't any way to warm her up faster.. unless he tossed her in the air, performed a Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu, and hoped that his jutsu didn't scorch her in the process.
.. Scratch that idea..
A voice in his mind suddenly shouted, 'Hypothermia!', and as fast as he could, he scooped the girl up in his arms and started to run.
Brrr…The wind was getting faster and faster by the minute. The Yamanaka girl was shriving, and wanted warmth. She was pretty far from her home, and thus just decided to go to the nearest store or something to get warmth. Why did she leave the Coffee Shop? Why? Only because her date was bugging the heck out of her, and made her mad. Then she had decided to follow her friend to make sure she was ok, but no she wanted to be alone. Thus leaving Ino alone and out in the cold. She had decided to keep walking she would be home soon right?
``````````````````````
By this time Lee had began searching the shopping districts, but to no avial. He had even asked some of the sells people if they had seen them, but no one said anything. He was not going to give up! He would find them sooner of later. Just where was the problem.

Naruto jumped from his spot against the wall. Hesitantly, he looked over and sighed with relief. Hinata was okay, seeing as she was looking at him and talking.

"Oh um.. Hi Hinata!" He said, and gave a small smile. "Oh I just.. came over for a little visit I suppose. I wanted to see if you were okay." Quickly Naruto looked back and forth down both ends of the hallways.

No sign of Neji, which was good. Seeing as he didn't want to get his head ripped off for talking to Hinata when actually she was the one that started talking to him.

"So.." He said, and scratched the back of his head nervously. "How are you feeling?"

Sakura could feel her lifeless body being thrown around everywhere, but she couldn't do anything to stop it. What she could feel, however was the coldness of her body. She felt as if someone threw her into a deep-freezer and sat ontop ontop the lid so that way she couldn't get out to get warm, no matter how much she protested.

All she was worried about at the moment though was keeping her chakra flowing around her body in some hope of staying concious as long as she could. She didn't have to move her body to do that.. but she was already starting to get drowsy from just doing that small action.

"I feel.. so sleepy." She said to herself, and her concentration started slipping. She wanted to slap herself, or even kick if that was possible, to keep herself awake.

At that moment, her body went completely dead-weight and she went into a deep sleep.

[[*blinks* Why am I getting the feeling of Sleeping Beauty, without the spinning wheel to poke her finger on?]]
PostPosted: Fri Dec 15, 2006 3:58 pm

Hinata coughed again before answering, "I-I'm okay...i-it's really n-nothing t-t-to--," Hinata broke into another fit of violent hacks, "worry a-about."

She quietly poked her head out the door a little more. There he was, Uzumaki Naruto, her long-time crush standing in the flesh in front of her. It could've been the perfect time to ask him out really. No one around, it was just the two of them. But of course, she'd never do that.

Besides, wasn't the guy supposed to ask out?

[[Because of the "deep sleep" part? xD Well, Aurora DID have that nice pink dress every now and then.]]

Snow, snow.. wait, what was -- !? ..More snow, and perhaps a house.. so at least he was out of the forest now.

He looked left and right hurriedly, trying desperately -- yes, desperately -- to locate just where he was at the moment. He continued running until he was able to pinpoint the street he was on. Some higher being was definitely smiling down on him.. but that said being was probably laughing as well.

His eyelids began to droop at the worst time possible. How could he have been getting sleepy now!? He shook his head in an attempt to rid himself of exhaustion.

That was when Sakura's house came into view, and either he was imagining things, or there really were rays of light shooting down on it. It was.. more than likely just his mind playing tricks on him..

Sasuke ran up to the door, and had a little bit of difficulty getting the accursed thing open before quickly stepping inside and kicking it shut. He took this opportunity to catch his breath, and enjoy the warmth of Sakura's home.

Luckily, due to his earlier visit, he was already well acquainted with the rooms, and knew exactly how to get to her bedroom. He pushed all what-the-hell-I'm-in-her-bedroom-with-HER-unconscious thoughts to the back of his mind, and carefully lay her down. He pulled the covers back and, rather awkwardly mind you, removed her shoes prior to placing the covers back over her. By this time he was sure she was unconscious, seeing as how.. she wasn't making any effort to protest, or anything like that, so he decided against trying to wake her.

It probably would have been a good idea to get her out of her wet clothes.. but.. he felt strange enough just removing her damned shoes. And he knew it wasn't a good idea to leave her alone, so.. he decided to stay with her, and watch her.

It was amazing how many things could take place in such a short amount of time.. from talking in a coffee shop, to walking in the snow, to running on ice, to falling into freezing cold water, to rescuing someone, to running through the snow, and finally, to coming into someone else's house..

Not once did he stop to think about just what he was doing.
