Have you considered what you could do with more capital? I am wondering if you had more to work with if you could possibly make more on higher end items. I am not saying a lot more...but maybe like a quarter million or something. Anyhow, perhaps your profit would stay the same...I am not sure. Just something to think about.

Hmm... Well, the largest I've looked at are Kiki's, Pitchforks, Staff of the Angels and Angelic Headbands. I guess Nitemare headband, Headphones and the such as well.
The profit margin on most of them is roughly the same. It ranges anywhere from 10gp-4000gp on any of the items. People get pretty competitive with their pricing and I seem to have a knack for picking out items that can fetch me at least a grand or more.
I thought the same thing at first, Uma. But really, from what I've seen I'm better off selling the mid range items that people have an easier time saving up for as I can cycle though those faster, hence making more profit since I'm selling that many more items at a time. The expensive ones would go, but they take a bit longer since not as many people save up that amount of gold as often.
I've tested this over the last month and a bit. At one point Zedd had an OMFG, a Demona and an Angellus Guitar, and a Coco. By the time I sold one of each at a 1000gp profit, Grual sold about 3 gauntlets, 2 whips, 2 scars and 3 Dark Halos at the same profit of 1000 per item.
If I created a mule I could do more I suppose, as I'd be selling twelve items at a time instead of eight if I filled all three stores.

Well, the offer to let you utilize one of my mules still stands, Jer. Twelve IS more than eight.....
On a side note, you totally rock! It took me nearly a year to break 100k just doing it the hard way, and here you are making money hand over fist! *huggles* If you weren't my broker already, I'd hire you!

One of the reasons I'm only working with Willowbark's mule is because I keep forgetting to log in with it sweatdrop
I eventually remember though! usually after Zedd has whored the marketplace for all the good buys though... But I just wait an hour and log in with Grual and there are more! huzzah!
But yeah, since I post more than I play in the marketplace, I tend to use this account far more. But I'm going to transfer gold from here to Grual to see how close I am to hitting the 100k mark over there. Once I sell the items I have here I should have an extra 10k overtop of ethan's and Uma's cash to roll over there.
If I can remember to log in with Grual more to make sure his money is still cycling around, I might consider using a mule for myself, but until then 2 accounts is enough for me to tackle, heheh.

Yeah, I thought that was kind of odd too. Usually you get into expensive stocks you tend to see more payback, but that's not the case in the marketplace.
If you're wanting to make gold there, stick with the 'mid-range' priced Monthly Collectibles. The ones that are about 30,000-60,000 gold. You sell them faster so you normally get your money back faster to re-invest and pocket the profit.

Marketplace Fun Fact: The number of people that try to scam you is directly related in proportion to the number of Monthly Collectibles you are wearing while items are in your store.
I ran around in my 'hobo' suit for a while and had no scams, even while I was selling katanas, norisu scarves, coco cats etc.
I put on a suit that had a lot of MC's and looked like total crap and I had about 8 PM's with the same cut-and-paste scam within minutes of putting even a little item like a Scar of Hero up for sale.
Also, people react to any posts you made depending on what they think of your avatar. I've seen this a lot too...
funny how people judge who you are on gaia by the appearance of your avatar.
Oh yeah, Avatar seemed cluttered to me with the OMFG and the Zodiac and the Magic Eyes and teh Dark Halo. Looks simpler this way and just as cool at least, which is good to me heheh. I'll probably put them on again later on as it looks pretty cool with my current gear on.
Well, at least to me it does.
Also, it's hard to type while wearing gloves. Don't try it unless you have some mad keyboarding skills. hehehehh.
I bet you thought this was going to be an update, eh? Well, I slowed down the marketwhoring for the moment as the prices skyrocketed and I'm not sure if they'll stay that high. I don't want to have two full stores should the market drop back down to the previous prices as that would cost a lot of gold should it happen. So I'm playing it safe. So over the last 2 days I only made about 12k total between the two accounts. I'll be taking her slow for a bit.

Nothing wrong with slow. It works. Anyhow, if prices are unstable then it is best not to do anything much.
Your outfit looks cool. But really, what else to Gaians have to go on but how the avatar looks. They would have to hunt post history to get a picture of who the person really is. And even then...
And yes, scammers abound. Report them.

I do report them. Every single one. Not before a good ******** though. i bait them along, thinking they'll get my password. After a few hours of it they give up.
And I agree, slow usually works. Too bad the prices on a couple items I picked up plummeted over the last hour gonk I'm hoping they go up enough to break even.
Ah well, that's how the game goes.

OK. It has been 13 days since I started this run.
Once I sell my last two items, Ethan will have 111000gp, GoldenRoya will have 257000gp and Uma will have 130000gp. I blew my gold and a tiny share of the profits on the OMFG I've been running around, so I'm out for now.
Total % in profits from both of you to me was 5%, or 5000gp each for this run.
If you want your money, let me know and I will trade it over. I'm still watching the Marketplace to see what else I can buy in, but if you want your money just let me know here at any time or in a PM so I can ship it off as soon as I get it out of the items if it's invested.
This is pretty fun mrgreen
