When the girl behind the counter waved the boys into the back room Jeff felt like he was walking on cloud nine.
A little old lady Cala was not. She was old but in no way short. Cala, white with age, was hunched over a tub of yellow lillies at about 6'3''. But she stood up tall and grinned when she noticed the boys and she reached a goo 6'6''.
"Well, mighty fine to see such strapping young gentle men. Anyone who runs with my Dain here must be a good heart." She let her thick southern drawl pour on thick. "I hear you two love birds are ready to tie that ole' knot. And if there is anything I know, it's flowers, so come on over here and tell me whatca want."

Yakov smiled. "Oh my god, I don't even know where to start with what want."

"Now Dain, come here and give ole' Cala some sugar. " She crossed the room in two strides and pulled Dain into a tight hug. When she released him she looked at Yakov and smiled, "Now don't you worry your pretty little head. I'm sure we can figure something out. Lilly?" She turned to another woman who had been sitting in the corner of the room hiding behind another bin of flowers looked up with her amber eyes. "Can you go grab us the magazines you ordered for me last year? The weddin' ones with all the pretty men on the cover?" She nodded and stood up, towering over her, before almost running from the room, her long brown hair wipping around the corner.
"Dain don't you remember my grandbaby Lilly? I do so appreciate you lettin' her run with your pride last winter, really brought some color to those cheeks of hers. Now what am I doing being such an ungrateful host, here you three take a seat." She motioned to the three stools about the room.
Jeff was grinning wildly at all the flowers and nodded to Cala while is sat.

Dain nodded and smiled. "Of course I remember her. It was my pleasure." He sat down with the boys. "Jeff, if you keep smiling like that your face is gonna cramp." Dain laughed, it was good to see Jeff this happy.

Maureen sighed and poured herself a cup of coffee. "...I didn't. Did you?"

Jeff laughed at Dain. "I just want to thank you so much for helping us, Cala. The wedding is only 2 weeks away and we just moved here..." Before he could continued Cala cut him off with a laugh of her own. "Like I said before, sugar, don't worry. With Dain on your side there isn't anything anyone here wouldn't do for you." She smiled brightly at the boys as she took a seat next to them.
Lilly entered the room with her eyes down, concentrating more on walking than the fact anyone was in the room. She handed the magazines to her grandmother and backed away. "Lilly darling, why don't you go pour some nice iced tea for our guests."

Maureen nodded again. "That's good." She sat down at the little island.

Jeff nodded and grinned.
Lilly turned away from them so they couldn't see her face flushing. "Mornin' to you, too Mr. Manners." She all but mumbled out before taking off into another room to get the iced tea.
"So, honey, tell me what you're thinkin' and I'll see what I can do to make it better." Cala winked at him.
Jeff laughed and told her all about his and Yakovs plans.

Dain watched Lilly walk out. Why was she so nervous? He turned back to Cala and the boys.

Brandon looked at the abandoned omelets. "Anyone gonna eat these?"

Yakov was pretty much in a daze about all this flower stuff. There were so many choices and the were all so beautiful.

After about 15 minutes of flower talk Lilly came back in with her face hidden by her long hair. She set the tray of iced tea down on the counter and passed them out. She tried to slip out but Cala stopped her. "Lilly dear, why don't you sit."

Dain smiled and took one of the glasses. "Yeah, join us Lilly. You might be able to help these two to actually make a decision."

Maureen shook her head. "Nope. Yakov made them a while ago but he and Jeff took off with... Dain. I think that was his name. He's the owner of the club we were at last night. Apparently he's helping them with the wedding."
