Luka uncrossed her legs and put her elbows on the desk, resting her chin on top of folded hands. "Now that we're all settled, perhaps we should start over. Connor, I suggest you drop the beat him over the head with the bad news speech and start with introductions. After all, all the mayor knows about me is that I'm a monster and I don't see us getting very far that way."

"That may be, but perhaps this evening will not, and I know that this weekend won't." Curtis raised a brow as he sipped his own coffee and took a step towards the table, causing Katra to step backwards with him. "I know you don't want food, but how about you keep me company while you're waking up?"

Connor sighed and sank into his chair in a sulk. He needed to face the fact - he was never going to be in control again. It was all Luka now. Muttering a bit he continued.
"Her name is Luka," he answered the mayor's accusation, trying to clear up the fact that she was not merely a "monster". "She served in your country's military, so wolf or not I suggest you give her some respect."

"He neglects to mention that I'm also the one who saved his dying mangled a** so he could continue to work for you. And from what I've seen, you made an excellent choice in hiring him. He's good. You know raw talent when you see it...now that is something I can respect." She offered the mayor her hand. His next move would determine the entire rest of the conversation. She wasn't too particularly excited about either direction.

"Yeah, only if you remember to go to the store and you drop me off at the clinic today." She slid down into a chair at the table and layed her head down on the table after setting her cup of coffee down first.
"I hate doctors and I hate mornings..." she mumbled into her arm. It would have been so easy to just go back to sleep.

Yakov's eyes slowly blinked open. Sunlight was just starting to appear outside the window. He looked up at Jeff, half expecting to see Jeff staring down at him, but he was still asleep. Yakov smiled. He whispered to Jeff. "I'll take that as a complement." He brushed a strand of hair out of Jeff's face and carefully climbed out of bed. He wasn't exactly sure what to do with himself, so he got dressed and decided to amuse himself by looking through the contents of Jeff's box again.

Jeff rolled over and mumbled something about pigions. After a few seconds he realized that there was no warm body of Yakov next to him and he opened his eyes a crack. He turned back over and saw Yakov, fully clothed, searching through his box.
"Wait till you see the big box..." He smiled.

"I was letting you save your special surprise...anyway..." Yakov lifted a whip out of the box. "Which one of us gets to use this?" He grabbed both ends of the whip and threw his hands apart, making the strips snap together.

Jeff giggled like a little girl, "Whoever feels like at the time I guess..." He litterally rolled out of bed and onto the floor. He reached around blindly then found and pulled on a pair of pants.

Yakov crawled on top of Jeff. "Okay, so answer me this. Why does someone who says he hasn't had sex for four years keep two boxes of such sinful pleasures so near at hand?" He burried a hand into Jeff's hair and pulled his head up for a kiss.

Though the moment was hardly longer than a heartbeat, it was like hours. The mayor's hand inched towards Luka's and then withdrew almost more quickly than Connor's eyes could keep with it. It was in the desk and then bringing up a pistol. Though Connor had never smelled it so strongly, he knew what the bullets were right away. Silver. Why in the hell hadn't he just used it earlier?!
"Get back," the older man ordered. "Don't move. Don't make me kill you. I could have let you kill any run-of-the-mill wolf in the woods, but my Alpha wouldn't be too forgiving about you two." The mayor almost smirked. "Why don't you two have a seat?"

"s**t." Luka gripped the arms of her chair tightly. 'Okay, so there was a third direction.' She kept her eyes on the mayor's face. 'I missed it. How the hell did I miss it. I could blame all the other harsh scents in here...how the hell did I miss it?' "s**t."

Kat didn't hear a word Curtis said, she was out cold in the limbo between life and death that all vampires go to during the day.

Jeff stood up, "That was the best sleep I've had since I was a little kid!" He turned and hugged Yakov, "Thank you for that." He let him go and found a shirt and some shoes. "So my class isn't for another hour, lets go get breakfast! I'm starving!"
