I bring up FF6, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound. "lawl wut r doz?" I wanted to kill each and every one of them, slowly and painfully. ;_; EB pwns, kthxbai.

Self portrait. I modelled this off two pictures of me taken by digital camera. I figured if photographs "didn't do me justice," maybe I could do it myself. I think I overdid it though... LOLLERCOASTER ^__^ This is the expression I do into the mirror every morning when I'm trying to be sexy. Ladies is pimps too. sad

Rikaru Self portrait. I modelled this off two pictures of me taken by digital camera. I figured if photographs "didn't do me justice," maybe I could do it myself. I think I overdid it though... The hair looks a tad plastic-y, but I have a thing with drawing hair so that's nitpicking. It's nice seeing you do realism.

Gah, that's really good, Rikaru! I do the same thing in front of mirrors sometimes... not exactly the same face but you know. I always end up looking like I'm on something. Yeah..
I have a tip for realistic digitally painted hair! Create a brush with like, 10-15 (less or more, depending on how big or small the drawing is) tiny dots as the positive (black) area. And then when you go to use it make sure the spacing is a zero. That'll give the hair a more stand-like appearence. Fill in the general hair area using the darkest shade and gradually work you way up to your highlights. Then just add some low lights/highlights here and there until you're happy with it.
Hair=really fun amd frustrating.

On a side note, a watercolor that I did of this photograph: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11201241/ (The larger version not on DA sows more detail) is being put up in an exhibit of my regions's student artwork. Lots of people entered, and there were judges or something that picked the ones they felt were the best. AND MINE'S IN IT. Score! Only two people form my high school got it too. surprised I'm going to the opening tomorrow night. I'm so happy. I get some award of recognition or osmething too. Now, if only I were this good in math...

I can work photoshop alright, but nowhere near as well as something tactile. But...I can tell you that the highlights on the side of your hair work a lot better at conveying locks of hair than the ones at the top where it parts that look more like the chunky anime style. So if you could make those highlights at the part look more like the side, I think it would make the picture even better.
