Since when is Gaia all responsible and s**t? Has anyone else noticed the "Information for Parents" link at the bottom of the page yet?

Ashram - There, there. ( xd ) One time I typed "there" instead of "their" (I was very, very tired) and very nearly cracked my skull on my desk afterward. Psychological testing suggests that people often make typing mistakes on a phonetic basis (there/their/they're) even when they know what's correct.

Ah. Well, keep us posted!

Nyome - It IS your superpower.

ROFL! "Where is Coco Going?" just made me laugh out loud at the excerpt alone. I'll have to look for that at my library next time I work.

I stumbled upon a book called "Hooray for Fish!" and couldn't stop laughing at the title for a week. In a world of such unnecessary complications, it's refreshing to find something so self-explanatory. Plus, the cover is hilarious.

Hmm... I think that "tracing/eyeballing" is fine for practice that is never seen by anyone but the artist. "Referencing" is a bit trickier, because it borders on "researching." People need to realize that "drawing" something does not mean "creating" it. I've actually found art majors who say, "Oh, I never draw anything on my own! I'm impressed that you do!" WTF? You're getting a major in art theft, then?

"Clouds." Got it.

AD>> I don't read over my posts as much as I used to. I guess my "not giving a flip" mood was triggered some time ago, and ever since then its been nothing but exceptance and being their for no a parent reason. surprised

Gaia? Responsible? Hmm surprised

I'm thinking I should give an aptitude test a whirl, just to see what options I'm not considering that would make sense. 3nodding

Since they have a CEO in their midsts? Not only that, but after Paypal nearly cut ties with Gaia due to the Casino incident, Gaia's had to "beef up" on the site's overall structure while keeping it as a "hangout" site.

It's sad to say, but the generation in which 99% of GASOC members came online to the site was during the time in which the member influx was heavily non-roleplay oriented. What's sad about it is that gaia originally started out as an roleplaying site, but that spirit waned when most (if not all) of our generation came about (and by 'generation' I'm refering to the aug. 2k3-dec.2k4 generation).

i loled because i loaded this page before i logged in and in aydee's post about parental information, "s**t" was censored.
oh the irony.

it's kind of saddening that the age level had dropped down so low that we need parental guidance for everything, but it's kind of inevitable in this day and age, i suppose.
although i think i heard in the Q&A that we are listed on a nasty porno site as a prime picking spot for *****. gonk

what was the casino incident? o_o;

what was the casino incident? o_o;

Paypal bitched at gaia for the fact that Gaia had a slots game and a blackjack-like game called cards. and since they apparently prohibit gambling sites, they thought Gaia was along the lines of a gambling site which meant they were pulling out. All got sorted out thankfully, and we have Payapl support once more....now it's up to the new credit card feature to not screw us over by arguing the same thing Paypal accused Gaia of. =/

and I did ear that same comment about a nasty webring stating how Gaia is a ***** "nubile garden" good for "easy pickings" ....

of course, they never stated the actual site, but I can only think of some random proboards forum or somesuch stupid thing. stare

Yeesh, when did all of that happen? I never even heard of any sort of Casino Incident going on here...

And guh. I know. gonk When you get as many adolescents in the same space, they're bound to be stupid and share information about themselves that they shouldn't share. I'm surprised Gaia doesn't have more of a problem with ***** than other places. (MySpace has gotten a really bad reputation for that, I've heard...)

In other news, I started a guild. :3 It's a place where you can (hopefully) get better critiques on your artwork than from the Picture Post.

oh my. gonk
from a business standpoint, i guess i can see why they would get their feathers ruffled.
but damn.

it's like some kind of genetic makeup, once you're past a certain age, you have to tell EVERYBODY on the internet about yourself. especially if you have a digital camera. xD
yeah, myspace has a huge problem with that. they're on a talkshow at least once a week.
what is frustrating to me is that if they ever successfully shut down myspace, the kids will just do it somewhere else. ;/

iyou, i saw that thread in the AD xD glad to see that it has taken off!

in other news, i am extremely saddened on the lack of any good okami discussion threads ANYWHERE on a site so big as gaia. emo

well, it is due to them thinking from a business standpoint that made a wave of outcries of "sellout" in the gd and elsewhere on the site. I mean, the CEO of gaia isn't a bad fellow, and just because he's a CEO doesn't mean he'll overthrow lanzer and hell will break loose here. He's simply there to deal with "legal" stuff so Gaia doesn't get shut down due to unscrupulous b*****d moneywhores who only want to feast upon Gaia's success and "apparent" money-making glory. seriously folks, it's all a fallacy lol nothing more.

as for the MySpace thing, I never got into it, and a computer-illiterate friend of mine asked me to help him build an account. I did, and all he does now is nag at me whenever he has the chance to make me join. Poor, poor fellow. rolleyes

ZOMG anyone heard about The Host yet? I have to find someone to drag with me to that..

EDIT: Watch the first trailer, then watched the "extended" at the bottom. Trust me.

Ashram - Aptitude tests... xd That brings back memories of the 8th grade. I think I was supposed to be...a biologist. Or a dictator.

Shiro - Ahh. I think it's fairly obvious now that I really do not venture outside of GASOC where Gaia is concerned. I had no idea that all this ruckus was going on.

axel - xd !! Gaia must be like a candy store for *****! You don't even have to go LOOKING for jailbait! They take it upon themselves to randomly send friend invites and PMs of "omfg lyke will you be my fweind?!" No wonder the admins are worried...

Okami discussion...?

Iyou - Awwww! Your very own guild! heart I'm so proud in a weird, totally inexplicable way. I love the art that was done for the banners and such - they're so professional! I wish you and your guild all the best! whee

AD :: I think it is failry obvious that I do venture outside of this guild and onto Gaia (besides other places) and thusly inform the hermit-like inhabitants of this here guild. 3nodding

aydee: wow,that movie looks awesome! looks like something refreshing to watch instead of that AWFUL TMNT.....thing they're trying to release here soon.

and yeah, just run-of-the-mill okami discussion...i've finished what is i think my 9th playthrough and i was hunting around for some kind of gameplay related thread, as so many other games have here on gaia. gonk
oh well.

Shiro - Hey. Some of us enjoy being hermits.

axel - 9th playthrough? Holy crap... I've only played once. o.O I started a new game but stopped after an hour because I didn't want to get sick of it.

Nyome - I just got around to watching that youtube thing. I couldn't stop laughing. That's so funny it's alarming, then right back to funny again.

AD :: no, one thing is being reclusive, another is being a hermit. the difference is that one completely forsakes all contact, while the other tends to stay away from things, but doesn't necessarily forsake all contact from them. :3

AD = hermit

Nyome = recluse

Shiro = ... not as reclusive? or something along those lines. confused
