Yeah, the computer's amazing. I definitely recommend it.

It's a damn Mac... The only thing they are good for are Movie and Picture editing.

And there goes my respect for you.

Your ignorance now outshines whatever intelligence you ever showed, in my eyes.

I was joking.. lol... Mac's are good for photo and video editing.. i wouldn't use anything but. We have a G5 Dual Core AMD 1.8Ghz 64Bit. IT'S AWSOME!!!! I use it all the time

Edit: Sorry.. Power Mac... My bad.

Oh, are we an expert? Look. I've been using Macs as personal computers for about eight years. Ever since I first started using computers. I can very easily say that Macs are "good" for everything, and MUCH better than PCs for certain things.

Now, you may not agree with me, but I don't really care. If we must continue this discussion, do it somewhere else. We went over it in the PYP thread and probably in other places too, as Macs are very important to me. The topic's overdone.

Now, if only I was able to fluently speak french...that would be mine.

I got the same model... just different CPU and what not.. but ti's REALLY HEAVY!!!! and the battery life blows! lol.

I'm not overly worried about the weight or the battery life, I'll have it plugged in most of the time. But I can't even get the damn thing cause it's french only. They probably don't even have it in stock in the Moncton store. Who knows. I might even go for a desktop, if all else fails. Whatever I buy, it has to meet some strict min. req's:
128mb non-shared memory for the graphics card
At least 2.2 ghz processor. Better is better.
512 mb RAM, although I'd pay extra if it came preloaded with a full gig of RAM.

Basically I need it to be a gaming machine. The video card is the most important part.

Oh? Aw, well. My dad got a plan from his school (he's a teacher). The school bought it for him and he payed it back over a few months or something. No interest. I don't know what plans Apple offers though, if any. ): Sorry.

Ah well, that's too bad. I should see if my school can get me a deal, or at least a plan.

That's actually a really good idea. I mean, you never know.

If you want a gaming machine maybe a lappy isn't your best option? I don't know a whole lot about computers, but at least a desktop is more.... solid, and it's easier to fix xd

Oh definately, I would much prefer to have a desktop. But since it's also got to be for university, and I want to carry it from class to class to take notes on and such, I kind of have to eliminate that option. I wish I knew my room mates contact info, so I could get in touch with him and see what he's going to be bringing.

Well actualy, yes I am. I'm in Computer Networking and TECHNICAL SUPPORT.. so ya, I am. I'm also going to be doing a computer Programmer Analysist, I would say I know alot about computer.

I'm not in the mood to argue about the difference between Macs and PC's. The basics and facts or, Mac are good for Photo and Video editing.. PCs are good for encoding and Gaming.

Be like me and have both.. lol.... Desktops are cheep. You can pick up a good one for about $1000 and well the lappy, a little bit more. I think it would be a good investment to get both, but for you.. I think a lappy would be a good option too.

Argh, I don't CARE. Good for you.

Because I have exceptional amounts of self-control, I'm not continuing this.

I intend to have both at some point, but right now I can't really afford two. That would be sweet though.
If it wasn't for the fact that I want to be able to play a certain online game that goes by the name of RoE, then I'd just get a cheap one that would serve as a word processor/time waster. But yeah, I need a laptop that's better than my current desktop. Which isn't saying a whole lot...Actually I shouldn't say that, my desktop is pretty good. The only problem is the video card is only 64 mb. And it's currently ******** up. In that I can't stay connected to MSN for more than a minute, before it kicks me out. I also can't play any online games, because I end up losing my connection to the server. Shitty deal in any event.
Kind of why I'm pushing to get a lappy tomorrow, to see if the problem is with my modem, or the pc itself.

xd Seriously off topic post, but since I didn't want to make a new thread just to randomnly say it.... Gaia should make a Beaver plushie type thing. like the Kiki Kitty, only, instead of biting the hand, have it biting the neck like in that one Molson commercial.... *got the idea from the commercial* sweatdrop

Frankly, I think you're both incorrect.

If I could find my Atari and set it up, I'd show you digital resolution and technological prowess at it's finest. Mac? PC? Sure, you can download data, but can you shoot invading space monsters?

That's what I thought.

I am a bit peeved at Toronto for not giving any recognition to Trinidad for Caribana. In Trinidad we have Carnival, then a Trini man introduced Carnival to Canada and named it Caribana. It is Carnival but it came from Trinidad. Also David Rudder, the music Chutney, Soca and Calypso came from Trinidad. Trinidad invented The Steel pan and doubles yet they sum it up as a Caribbean thing. How come no recognition for the great accomplishments that brings so much revenue to Canada every year?
