Skywise sat down. Hard.
"Pregnant?" Cutter got out.
"Cubs" Skywise squeaked.
"Without recognition?" Cutter verified.
Leetah nodded.
"Mine?" Skywise squeaked again.
"Yours," Nightfall confirmed, grinning from ear to ear. This was too much fun.
"Cubs," Skywise repeated.
"Wait," from cutter. "Cubs?"
"As in more then one," Nightfall said with a merciless grin.
Redlance came over with suntop, Ember, and Tyleet in toe. when had tyleet slipped off? "What's going on?" Redlance asked.
Nightfall trotted over and nuzzled her lifemate. "Skywise is going to be a sire, my love."
Redlance nuzzled her back, smiling. "You've been recognized? Congratulations!"
"Not exactly," Leetah said, smiling softly.
"Like us then?" Redlance asked. "Leetah, you truly are a worker of miracles (Miricle worker! Whose wolf was that again...? That wasn't Amiies, was it?)
"Not quiet...." Nightfall said, hiding her smile in Redlance's hair. "More like the Go Backs," she added.
Skywise sputtered a bit.
Cutter burst out laughing.
"Whats like the Gobacks?" New Wolf asked. Snow Racer followed behind.
"Skywise apparently sired cubs without recognition."
"My appologies," from New Wolf.
"HEY!" Protested SnowRacer.
New wolf laughed and nuzzled his son. "Kidding. Congratulations."
Two moons raced over. "Has anyone seen Bloodhunt? I think he left...."
"He'll come back," New Wolf said.
"Strongbow always comes back too," Redlance added, trying to be of help. "Once a part of a pack, being alone is always too isolated. He'll come home once he's cooled off some."
"And besides," New wolf said happily to Twomoons, "There is good news."
"Good news?" She asked, ears perked.
"Skywise and Caelestra are having cubs," Cutter told her.
"Cubs! Oh wow, congr.... Cubs? Plural?"
"Wait, what?" New wolf asked.
"Cubs," Leetah confirmed, smiling.
"Cubs," Skywise squeaked again.
Cutter laughed and slapped his old friend on the back. "Cubs. Yours."
(Oh I cant wait till the royals start appearing and skywise remembers Glory and Dave.... he always had a thing for multiples)
"Cubs," Skywise repeated.
Nightfall went over to Claestra, and put a for leg over her, like slinging an arm over a friend's shoulders. "Maybe you should sit beside him, see if he squeaks again."
"Cubs..." (Skywise)

Caelestra's lips twitched into a smiled "Yes.. cubs. Yes they're yours." She grinned at Nightfall and sat next to him "Any other questions?"

Skywise leaned against her a bit. "Cubs," he repeated in a whisper.
Cutter chuckled. "We'll do everything we can to help you guys, of course."
"More cubs to play with?" Ember asked, eyes wide.
Suntop went over to them and closed his eyes. "I'm getting my magic feeling!"
"They'll have magic?" Cutter asked, awestruck. "without recognition, magic and multiple?"
"You know," from Nightfall, "I think I could like this place. If the rest of the pack came..."
Cutter nodded. "Then this could be a good place for us, but there is more then just the pack...."
Leetah smiled softly at him and nuzzled his neck gently.
"You know... if you all are here, maybe Redlance and I should go... look at the perimeter...."
Cutter chuckled. "Go have fun."
*Ulm* she sent privately to Redlance as the two of them slipped off.
"Cubs"

Caelestra nodded to the others "It would make sense. This is highly magical area. Almost every pony around has some form of magic, be it flying, or controlling the weather to a degree. Some are more powerful than others... but it would be normal for them to have a degree of magic. " She glanced at Skywise unsure on how to take his amusing, but unclear reaction *Are you ok with having cubs?*

He gave a weak nod. "We always need more cubs" he managed to get out.
"You know...." Newwolf said, thinking a bit as he sat down. "Sometimes amongst the Gobacks, cubs were raised by the whole tribe, not just the parents. A few cubs didn't even know who whelped them, despite the parents having an active hand in their upbringing...."
Cutter blinked and seemed to think that over.
Skywise relaxed the smallest bit.
(It's Glory and Dave all over again::staring:: )

Caelestra frowned, not sure if she was entirely happy about that, but she couldn't and wouldn't force Skywise to be someone he wasn't. Besides the wolfriders seemed to be a big family anyway. She was sure her children would have enough love and such. She grinned a bit teasingly at Skywise "Your going to have to be a bit more careful now.. unless you want to start your own tribe of cubs..."

"Cubs," he repeated again weakly.
Cutter stood. *Fhar,* he sent privately. "Let's go look at the stars, Skywise." Cutter glanced at her. *I'll talk to him.*

Cutter led Skywise to the hill they had chosen for stargazing and settled down.
Skywise sat beside him.
*Fhar,* Cutter sent gently, worried about his friend.
"I can't be a father, I can't." Skywise whispered.
"Why not? You know that cubs are always a blessing to the pack."
"I know that, and I'm thrilled there will be more cubs."
"Afraid you're going to have a son that will grow up and take your love mates from you?" Cutter ribbed, hardly serious.
Skywise grinned a bit, chuckling. "Who knows, that could be fun."
"Then what is it?" Cutter asked. "You're great with the cubs. Ember adores you."
"She does, and I love her too, Sun top, all the cubs. But I'm not their father."
"You wont be doing this alone, there's the whole pack, well all of us who are here, there's your love mate."
"And to work with her to be parents to the child...."
"She would become your life mate," Cutter said, nodding.
"I watch you and Leetah, and I love what I see. But forever is a really long time cutter. It's forever. I'm not ready for forever, not with any single person. I may never be ready for forever. I thought I was once, when Foxfur...."
"Foxfur?" Cutter asked, arching a brow. There was a name he hadn't heard in a while.
"When she was missing, after Madcoil... I would have given anythign for her to be alright. I would have recognized her if thats what it took, would have been her lifemate, anything for her to respond to my sending."
"And what about Rain, Joyleaf, the others?"
"Any of them," Skywise said in a heated whisper.
"Then that was love of pack, brother. If it had been more then that, then you would have sought her out in the palace."
Skywise blinked and his shoulders lightened some as though a burden had eased. "Thanks," he said softly.
Cutter nodded easily. "So you don't want to be life mates. I'm sure she can accept that. That doesn't mean you cannot both raise the cubs."
"I cannot be a father, Cutter."
"But why not?"
"Because when Ember has a fit, I can step back and let you handle it. Sure I can teach the cubs how to swing in the trees, to look at the stars, to hunt.... But when it comes time to tell them no...."
Cutter nodded. "I got it. I'll talk to her for you, if you want. And the pack can help her raise the cubs. You. of course, will be part of the pack for that."
Skywise nodded. *Thank you, Tam,* he whispered privately, mentally.
Cutter nodded. "No problem, it was fun seeing you be nutmash for once."
"Don't get used to it," Skywise warned.
Cutter chuckled. "Wasn't planning on it. Coming back?"
"Maybe in a bit. I want to watch the stars."
"Should I ask her to join you?"
"I'd like that. We do have such fun joining."
"Noticed," Cutter said with a laugh as he made his way back. He nodded at Caelestra as he returned. "Skywise takes responsibility, only when he does not realize it, and there is no way around knowing it if he is open about being their sire. If it is alright with you, all the pack, him included, will aid you in raising your cubs."

She grinned and nodded "I kinda figured that would happen anyway... " She frowned thoughtfully "I won't however lie about who their father is if asked. So it WILL be known he is the father. Can he handle that?"

She smiled "Of course... thanks" Getting up and making her way over, plopping down beside Skywise "I won't lie about their father if asked... but neither am I asking or demanding you settle down or anything of that caliber with me." She chuckled "Neither of us would be happy in that kind of scenario"

He nuzzled her lightly. "Your babies will be beautiful. But I don't think I can handle anyone looking to me as any sort of authority figure. I just let Cutter handle that, and clean up after his trollish manners get us in a mess."

She frowned "Well then... we'll try to keep you away from authority stuff. I'd still like you to be around them... even if its a separated role. My only worry is that they don't think you're ignoring them or don't care." Caelestra smiled "And if they TRY to come to you because they know you don't like authority stuff.. just direct them back to me and I'll handle it"
