Women were just messaging him left and right. First Petra was telling him to get his mind out of the gutter, and now Julie was messaging him asking about some reindeer costume. He muttered under his breath as he texted her back, still kind of unsure about who she was or what her deal was. Oooooh, the surveillance headquarters! To be honest, the idea of going there to gather information had never crossed Eva's mind. She had kind of had the "research = reading books" thing ingrained into her mind thanks to school (not to mention she had kind of forgotten that they had a surveillance headquarters at all). However, now that she actually had an opportunity to go around and question people, she was going to snatch it up.
First, though, she asked Reine to accompany her, thinking that perhaps they could both learn something interesting from this.
In the end, Eva had picked up some information that could be useful to their cause. Following the letter from Aria that had appeared on her stack of notes, Reine had to concede that they were pretty much working blindly, if they had no idea what they were up against- and that was completely inefficient. Unfortunately, Reine didn't seem to be able to just sit and watch; even as she and Eva went to a surveillance room and plonked themselves in front of the TV screens, a certain someone insisted on singing carols and even.. dancing.
Thankfully they were the ones surveying, not being surveyed.
At least by the end of two hours it had occurred to Reine to borrow Eva's notes, and after poring over them for a while (and doodling snowmen all over), Reine made her way back to the labs and started gathering materials from the storage room. It wasn't nearly enough, but it was a start.. and hopefully one that wasn't in the wrong direction.
Speaking of wrong directions.. Julie's text yesterday had left her confused. The joy cookies? Perhaps those would come in handy at some point in time- such as.. food supply for the creature? Puzzled, she decided to send the hunter a reply- after all, Aria had encouraged asking questions, hadn't she? Zoomutt I haven't forgotten the cookies! Do you think we can feed them to the creature? ...The surveillance room. Goddamnit. Candace had actually facepalmed upon reading that little tidbit of information. What an idiot. Why didn't she think of that?! Damnit. Candace did find it strange that she wasn't as frustrated with herself as she could have been; she couldn't even find it in herself to be grumpy as she let Eva and Reine take care of the whole surveillance room thing. Oh well. She'd blame it on Christmas. So that was what they were looking for. Okay! Got it. She would not be making that mistake again, damnit. Day One GROUP 2 Hunter Character and Division: Otto Graves - Death Task: N/A ((School Killed Me)) Day Two GROUP 2 Hunter Character and Division: Otto Graves - Death DRILLS: 23 pts Maybe Otto should have felt badly for not doing as much as the rest of his team on the first day. They did his job as a Death Hunter better than he did. Ego crash. The next day was a little better, with Sun Division drills to go through. Much more physical, less thinking.

Bix felt like an idiot after reading Aria's note. WHY hadn't he thought to just ask her? Because they make a habit of not telling you anything?Probably.He'd also not thought to go to the surveillance booth so he took the initiative to do it. By the time he'd gotten there those on duty looked pretty annoyed to see a 'stray' asking questions. They repeated what others had found out in derisive, bored tones but it was enough. Bix, as the Sun hunter in the group, next took the responsibility of organizing drills. Because he wasn't quite sure still exactly what they were dealing with he used the sparse knowledge to put together some skills to work on. She couldn't help it. Chewing her lip was a sure sign that the girl was thinking, thinking too hard at least. She should have thought of that! Surveillance... anything, maybe even there was a eye whiteness or two. Ceres when she heard 'research' automatically thought OH HEY, BOOKS. What could she say... she was a bit of a book worm. After they were done with the surveillance room, it was time for Drills. Drills.. augh. Sure, the idea that getting to use your body rather than your brain for a while was comforting at times... but Ceres was a thinker. She liked thinking. All this blood and sweat clogged her nose. They'd finally gotten enough information about what they were up against to start some drills (or at least practice not getting gored). Still cramped and off-set from studying, it felt good to stretch his legs some. He did an hour of training, took a break, and then got in another two hours. He wasn't sure how he was going to build a cage, but he'd tackle it soon. Tori thought that today was a good day to go out and do some drills, so she had gotten up early to get the work done. For at least the first hour she had total focus on the drills. But for the rest of the practice time Tori didn't make much progress after the first hour and when she did make a little progress when her weapon had piped in to give her advice on what she had been doing wrong. Feeling that she didn't make as much progress as she wanted. Also she still felt bad for not thinking about checking out the surveillance room, but when there were books to read she just wanted to read them all and not think of other things when it came to books sometimes. Maybe later on she would go check out what information they had later on. Surveillance and---aw man! Why didn't he think of that? That would have been so much better than skimming through countless books! Even asking this Aria person would have been better than reading what felt like the same bit of information over and over. Though one thing was for certain, no matter what kind of information he could get from her, there was no way in hell he was going to ask Julie. It was just too risky!
Setting the book down, not even bothering to bookmark his spot, he followed after his group off to the surveillance room. This time in hopes of getting better results than what he could from the books. After they were done there, he would go try the drills. Only he found, much like the research, he wasn't very good at it...

Cass made an attempt to find Aria after she'd mentioned that they needed to use their heads. She really did think that was an excellent idea, even if she hadn't thought of it until prompted. It probably had to do with the fact that it had all been made a 'challenge' that had made her forget that she could still ask questions.
Her question, before getting down to the business of drills and maybe a bit more research had been simple enough;
"Is there something in particular I should focus on working on to defend myself against this thing?"
She wouldn't ask what it was at this point, it was already a very....moot point and Aria might not have been as willing to answer that now that she'd dropped the hint that she was a resource. Never the less, she figured it was worth a shot to at least ask about other things in relation to the creature.
God, she was starting to wish they had more than five days to work at this stuff.
At least Bix was on top of things with sending them some stuff to work on. She got on that for the day, but still felt grossly unprepared at the end of the day. Unprepared and tired. Tedan had spent a little while the night before trying to come up with effective capturing methods for this thing and so tried to structure his own drills around those. In a way, though, he was shooting himself in the foot (more or less) because honestly... Arda wasn't really made for capturing. He was made for hurting and killing. I mean, how do you capture something with a huge axe?? At the end of the day, after several ups and downs (mostly downs) in the drills, Tedan was feeling a bit useless. But he was already planning to do more drills the next day to make up for it. He'd gotten pretty good there at the end, before getting tired and slacking off a bit.
