Sarcasm and false bravado was only so amusing. Nergui didn't even bother to look up as another hunter started yelling at them, she merely exchanged a glance with Tseng before her attention returned rather abruptly to the hunter as she began to struggle. It wasn't a very smart move. The hand holding her blade was unyielding, and the more the girl struggled, the worst she would cut herself. If the fool slit her own throat on the dark steal, would Medea be angry with her? A scoff of a noise escaped at the thought, but she didn't lower her weapon.
"If you've no blade, perhaps you have ample strength to simply tear the fabric?" Her eyes had narrowed as the hunter had shouted to her comrade, implied an escape route they hadn't yet covered. Some magic, it seemed, merely a reciting of words. "And you," she she pressed her blade all the harder, so Candace would either have to hold still or injure herself further. "Speak again and lose your tongue."

The horsewoman was smug. She was nice and clean. Only a little blood, but that was welcomed now wasn't it? "I'm sure when we return you can get someone to fuss for your silks. Perhaps take a human's head for trade, I'm sure someone would trade you fresh silks for such a prize." Gold eye looked to the hunter. "Maybe she's willing to say she is sorry?" She also smiled to Eris. "You look so lovely in red as always Lady Eris. I trust you are enjoying the festivities?" --------------------------------------- Kicked in his side, he felt grunting from pain and from hitting the dirt. The horsewoman got a sneer. "You look good together, dog s**t and bird s**t." His mocking died as claws dug into his side, eliciting as hiss as he bit his lip, try to distract from the pain. He could die. He was going to die. Dis wasn't speaking onl;y wending a wave of worry mingled with anger. Dis hated him. He was alone. No one to save him but himself. He looked at the wolf like horsemen, anger, fear, hate in his eyes. He wasn't going to give up, he wasn't going to die. He wouldn't let himself die. "No." It was a definitive answer. If he died he died. He wouldn't fear what laid beyond. But his eyes flicked over to where Cass was before looking back at Senga and Jay. "There are worse things then death. Worse things then having someone you love die." It was worse to live without them. To survive when they couldn't. That was his fear. That horrible terror in the back of his mind everyday he woke up with Cass by his side. The mirror shattering was a sound that seemed to go on for ages, as in a single instant, everything shifted.

Bix was flipped onto his back with a crack of a kick. Without his sheild the pain was sharp, crippling and his ribs strained. He'd be bruised but another and they'd be cracked. She used him like a seat and he grunted in pain as his ribs and stitches screamed at him. His headset crackled, an interesting distraction from the pain. The chatter and static, Allan's presence, all roused his spirits just a bit. "Fat.. b***h!" He gritted his teeth and flipped her off as the world around him warped.

As the wave suddenly came over the group, Invictus's hand jerked away from Cass's head in surprise, and Cass jerked away from the horseman, her hands going to her head in a gut response as she seemed to suddenly breath again for the first time in the last minute.
But then it seemed chaos would erupt for them all once again.

Lily peeled her gaze from the weak worm-like hunters just in time to watch the mirror shatter despite a resounding and mighty NO of protest.
The reason for that no soon became clear as she found herself being dragged in by the broken pieces - consumed - and then gone.

Ofelia didn't really like being kicked in the face, since it well. . . involved her face. The blow sent her reeling backwards and her hands made a sickening sound as they protected her from entirely smashing into the ground. Her neck was still holding her head up and hadn't snapped, that was amazing, but the pain of a cut on Ofelia's face was fresh and raw. Her anger was just as fresh now, boiling up just like the blood to her wound.
"Oh ya silly, silly pony. Do ya know back home we shoot horses once we break their legs? We also eat 'em fer meat. Ah'm curious ta know if Ah can do the same ta ya." Her hand was on her wound, aching, but no sooner had she voiced her (mostly empty) threat then everything came crashing down around her. Quite literally, actually.
From there she felt herself start to move, start to shift, and she placed her hand near her eyes and motioned towards the horseman who'd kicked her. "Next time pony, Ah'm bringin' a shotgun. Brace yerself." And then, before she could get a response, it was like she was gone. . . .

The blue jay clicked her tongue at Senga. “Don’t you know that enough is not really enough?” she chimed in a sing-song voice. Her arm around the horseman’s neck only seemed to tighten, but at least it was loose enough for him to still comfortably move and breathe. Another low hum rumbled in her throat as she listened to Marcus’ answer. “Really now?” She casually followed his gaze, her eyes settling on Cass. Jay grinned. “If there are worse things, then I suppose you won’t mind if I play with her for a bit?” She playfully twirled her dagger.
And then everything fell apart. She whirled around to glare at Allan. “You. Get out. Get out out out out!” Jay shrieked as the mirror consumed them.
