Alvin didn't say anything to her. So, Vladimir hated him because he was a human, his father kidnapped his daughter, and he thought Alvin was interested his Valentina. Well, news flash for him, she wasn't that appealing. Why would he waste his life with someone who was going to be eternally young while Alvin grew old and withered? No. That wasn't his plan. He wasn't going to spend his life with her. Or, anyone for that matter. He didn't want to marry or date or even sleep around. Valentina left and Alvin kicked the chest of clothes, only to kneel and hold his foot. That was painful. Going back downstairs, he stopped when he turned a corner and ran into Sal. "Is everything alright? You and Tina seem upset." "...It's nothing. Just stay out of it. Interferring will only make it worse." Alvin walked passed Sal, ignoring his hurt expression. It was true, though. Parents always made drama between teenagers worse. Going back to the room they were lending to Alvin, he shut the door and slid to the ground. Why had things turned out so horribly? He was taking his anger out on Valentina when she had been nothing but nice to him. That wasn't him. He was treating her the same way Vladimir treated him; only without the violence and hatred.

Alvin had moved to the bed and laid down. He was a mix of emotions. He was angry, relieved, sad, happy, confused, enlightened....Alvin knew that there was no going back to his old life, yet he didn't understand why not. If anything, he was like a little kid who knew touching the fire was bad, but didn't know why. He just didn't touch it because that would only hurt him. As he tired to sort everything out, there was a knock on his door and Sal came in. "Hey, Alvin. I was wondering if you would like some fruit. It's freshly picked. I have a bowl of grapes and berries here for you." Alvin looked at Sal, not saying anything. The merman gave a shrill, yet quiet, sigh before coming over and sitting on the edge of the bed. "How did you ever fall for Vladimir? He's a b*****d." "Yes. He can be a b*****d from time to time. But, Vladimir is a kind man. He just....He's one of those people that need time to open up. He is grateful for your help, even if he doesn't act like it." "Well, he's a p***k. You deserve better than him, and so does Valentina." Alvin's ear was flicked and he winced, holding it as he looked at the annoyed expression on Sal's face. "You are being a stubborn child, Alfred. Yes, Vladimir could be more trusting of you, as he should be, but you could certainly do with an attitude change yourself."

Alvin apologized to Sal, not being able to sustain even the tiniest bit of amger with the merman. He was just that sort of person. The kind that dwindled anger with a soft voice and good heart. "Listen, I know you're giving Vladimir the treatment he's giving you. You're both dominant personalities, and you're butting heads. But....Please, try to be nice to him. He responds well to that sort of behavior. I think he's just being protective of Valentina. He's not ready to hand her over, much less to a....A person who can't stay with her for eternity." Alvin frowned. "A human, you mean? I hate to break it to you and your egotistical husband, but vampires are just glorified humans with a cannibalistic hunger." The teen turned away from Sal, closing his eyes. "As pretty as she is, I'm not interested in her. I'm not interested in dating period. Vladimir can shove his paranoia right down his throat....Thanks for the fruit, by the way, but I don't want any. Wouldn't want him thinking I'm trying to steal you from him, too." "Alvin....Vlady knows I'd never leave him, much less for someone so much younger than myself. Fathers have a...very protective nature when it comes to their daughters." Sal gave Alvin a soft kiss on the forehead, like he had done so many times with Tina when she was younger and still did to this day, and then left the room. He left the bowl of grapes and berries for Alvin to eat if he wanted. The boy just needed time to think and recover. He had been through so much. More than anyone should have to at his age.

"I don't know what he would want. Only that he isn't happy here, maybe it would have been better if I had just remained in that tank and not asked for help. That way he could have the life he wants. Alvin isn't happy with me, with our family, mainly daddy I think." She said before she looked away from her mother.

"What is the traditional course from Arabor? I think maybe he would enjoy having something from home once again." Tina said knowing that they had pretty much any kind herb and meal available thanks to Sal's garden, and her father's reach.

"Perhaps that is true, though Alvin told me he would rather have been killed by his father then to be with us." She said looking down at the ground never having felt this kind of conflict before. "Are all humans like this? So complicated in their emotions and feelings?" She asked her mother for a moment before she looked at the kitchen and let out a sigh. "Well we should start getting dinner ready. So, cheese stuffed steak. Shouldn't be too hard to make." She stated before making her way to the kitchen and getting the best steak they had and the block of cheese. "Can you start shredding the cheese so that we can stuff the steak when it is ready?" She would cook the meat then stuff it before finishing cooking so the cheese would melt. "Is there anything else that should be made?" She wanted to try and make Alvin happy, she wasn't sure how much longer he would be staying and she wanted to at least have one good day with Alvin before things changed.

"Your right, I would probably feel the same if I were in his situation. I just never thought that anyone would feel that they didn't have a choice. Alvin didn't need to stay with that man, his father yet he did. Everyone has to leave their old life behind at some point, both you and dad had to adjust and adapt to your new lives."

As Sal asked where the cheesy fries were she smiled and pointed to the cabinet. "In there, since they are more a chip then cheese they go in there."

"Of course your right, your more experienced in humans and well everything right now. I just wish that Alvin didn't think he had to go through all of this alone. If he wants to be angry, he can be, but not at you or father. Im the one that created the problem. I shouldn't have left the castle, then I wouldn't have been taken and Alvin would be back at home." She said before she went back to focusing on the task before her until she heard Sal speak of her father and leaving him. She was surprised that Sal thought such things though she knew her mother would never leave the vampire. "You don't mean that do you? Daddy might be stubborn and set in his ways, but he doesn't mean any harm, even to Alvin. Daddy just isn't used to sharing with others is he? That is why he is on edge around other people. I don't think he likes to share you with me sometimes." She said with a small laugh before she looked at the meal and smiled. "I believe we are done, unless Alvin doesn't like his meat to be this temperature. I can always cook it more if he wants it done differently. I shall go get him, if that is alright with you."

"As long as you both still love each other, that is what really matters right?" She asked before she looked at Sal with a smile before she left the kitchen and went to get Alvin.

Going to the door she knocked on the room and waited for a moment. "Alvin, I hope you will join us for dinner, I made a traditional Arabor meal, steak stuffed with cheese. If you wish to remain in your room, we will bring the meal up to you." She said before waiting a bit longer wanting to at least hear if he was going to join them.
