      Jaquard (pronounced JYA-kard). Jaquard is wild and bold only by appearance. He's actually a very stable, intelligent and conscientious young man. With a keen eye for doing the right thing, he still knows how to have a good time. His stage persona is The Ragged Gentleman, where his vivaciousness and aerobic antics draw cheers from the crowd.

        Positive Traits
          gaia_nitemareleft Aware. Jaquard is highly concious of how he is perceived, what sort of an impact he makes on others, and his natural charisma. He aims always to show a good example, both on and off the stage.
          gaia_nitemareleft Encouraging. While not a leader himself, Jaquard loves to bring the best out of other people. With an encouraging smile, and a stalwart loyalty, he makes sure others feel confident and safe.
          gaia_nitemareleft Dedicated. When Jaquard takes an interest in something, he gives it 110%. While not necessarily a perfectionist, he believes strongly in hard work, and in earning results. If he fails, his consolation is that he held nothing back.
          gaia_nitemareleft Social Justice Warrior. Jaquard will not stand down in the face of bigotry, bullying or prejudice. He's the ally to minorities, equal rights, queer culture, and the disabled. He works towards a world of collaborative harmony.
          gaia_nitemareleft Autodidact. Jaquard learns best when he can teach himself. For this reason, he audits a lot of electives and has a vast number of hobbies, including wood-working, welding, languages, musical theory, and world history. This ability to 'pick things up' makes him well-rounded, sympathetic, and versatile.


        Negative Traits
          gaia_nitemareleft Big Mouth. Especially in the pursuit of defending the underdog or supporting a friend, Jaquard can get himself into trouble, often putting a target on his own back. His surprising cleverness tends to rub bullies the wrong way, and he finds himself suckerpunched more often than he'd like to admit.
          gaia_nitemareleft Over-Worked. His eager interest in so many things, and his penchant for jumping in head-first means he's often exhausted, ill, or malnourished. This doesn't help his already emaciated Litch frame.
          gaia_nitemareleft Romantically Shy. When it comes to reaping the fruits of his labour, emotionally speaking, Jaquard freezes up. Now in university, he's still never been kissed, and doesn't really know what he wants, or what to do when shown affection.
          gaia_nitemareleft Scattered. With his busy schedule, mentally taxing studies, and many obligations, events and dates tend to slip his mind. While he has a day-planner to keep track of everything, there are often things he's agreed to that never got jotted down and swiftly forgotten. It isn't that he wasn't sincere or didn't care, but rather that he triple booked himself and didn't have time to stop and recall all his promises.
          gaia_nitemareleft Loyal to a Fault. Jaquard wants to believe everyone is as well-meaning as he is, combined with his desire to help, he's often found himself in toxic friendships, surrounded by people who use him up and spit him out. Even when he's horribly mistreated, he finds the silver-lining and still sticks by them--unless another friend makes an intervention on his behalf.


        Enjoys
          gaia_nitemareleft Playing Bass. Originally just a garage hobby, he actually got quite good and got asked to sit in for another bad whose bassist broke his thumb. From there, he found he kept picking up gigs, and just rolled with it.
          gaia_nitemareleft Barbecue. Nothing beats a smoky, roasted meat off the grill! If he had his way, he'd eat Barbecue every meal. One of his most prized possessions is his dinged up little hibachi.
          gaia_nitemareleft Watching Politics. He finds politics highly fascinating, and watches political races and the actions of congress and parliament very closely. His favourite is to watch bills being lobbied, hearing the arguments for and against and how the votes finally tally.
          gaia_nitemareleft Sustainability. Perhaps because of his Litch heritage, Jaquard is sensitive to death and destruction, and especially to the slow-bleed of disregarded nature. He always picks up litter, and in the summers often goes on retreats to replant trees, help restore ecosystems, or volunteer with rehabilitating endangered species.
          gaia_nitemareleft Cycling. Lacking in upper body strength, his legs are his one area of power, and so he cycles everywhere. From home to university, from class to gigs, visiting friends, going on grocery runs. He's become a master of balancing thing on his bike while weaving in and out of traffic.


        Dislikes
          gaia_nitemareleft Blind Dates. If courting weren't bad enough, getting ready for a date you don't even know is the worst! What to wear? Where to take them? What to say?? He doesn't get stage fright; he gets date fright.
          gaia_nitemareleft Destruction of Public Property. Despite his punky nature and appreciation for graffiti artwork, Jaquards hates seeing defaced public spaces, including parks, store fronts, bathrooms, and transportation.
          gaia_nitemareleft Failures in the Justice System. The manipulation of legalese, loop holes, and circumstantial evidence gets his bile up. The largest reason he wants to become a lawyer is so that the biggest pocket book doesn't win, but actual justice is meted out to match the crime. No more, no less.
          gaia_nitemareleft Flaky Bandmates. He works hard, even though music is only his hobby. Being stood up for gigs, musicians not showing, or bands that refuse to put in practise time drive him crazy.
          gaia_nitemareleft Crass Humour. If humour relies on making fun of an ethnic or gender or lifestyle group, it isn't funny. Period. The same goes for crass comments in the streets that debase entire groups of people out of ignorance or bigotry. He can't let these comments just slide.
          gaia_nitemareleft Drugs. He tried a few things in his Academy days and found they really, really didn't agree with him. That combined with how sharp he needs his mind to be, and how many friends in both university and music he's seen totally strung out on substances, and Jaquard has developed a pretty intense dislike of drug use.

      Jaquard is a punk rock and punk metal bassist. He's been playing gigs in a number of bands, but would like to have a band of his own.
      He's also entering Law School with the aim of being a Public Defendant.
