He looked up, or thought he looked up. "I see nothing, but the dizziness is gone." Regius said in a light tone, as though it didn't matter. "Thank your for doing what you could, Dashira." He sat up and extended his head forward, wanting to nuzzle her in thanks but unable to see where she was. He caught her scent to the left of him and moved his head that way before coming in contact with soft fur. He pulled back. "This will take some getting used too..."

Dashira nodded sadly. "I am sorry I could not do more, Young Prince... Truly."
She nuzzled him gently. "Perhaps we should find you a familiar, to be your eyes."
She gave a slight smile. "Feel free to have mine."

Aseeri alighted on a branch in time to hear what her lion had said, and squaked in outrage. "THROWING ME AWAY LIKE SOME USED FEATHERDUSTER? I'LL NOT HAVE IT YOUNG LADY!"
The brightly colored bird hopped up and down on her branch, ruffling up her feathers and clicking her beak indignantly. "Of all the nerve.. Well I never.. Ungrateful..."

Dashira winced and laughed. "Oh dear, never mind.. I forgot I would not wish her on anyone... "
She sombered. "Your hearing, sense of smell and touch should improve greatly, creating a sort of second sight... It is the body's way of making up for what it has lost.. Until then, take care where you walk, Young Prince.. Or we'll have a true problem on our paws...

Regius laughed at the bird. "Perhaps I will aquire one at some later time, but I must relearn how to walk first." He rose to his feet unsteadly. "Take care where I walk..." he laughed softly. "Yes, I will have to do that from now on." He took a few steps forward and glaced back over his shoulder before he could stop himself. "I think I will go find the river. If you need me, that is where I should be..." If I can even make it that far... He thought idly before pacing off again.

Dashira smiled. "I'm heading back that way, as I should return home.. My brother is soon to be a father, and as Shaman, I should be there..."

Venati turned her eyes from her son, and smiled. "Of course, thank you Princess Dashira.. Thank you a great deal... Wish your family the best from me and mine, and take care until we see you again..."

Dashira bowed her head and smiled, turning away. "Come on then Aseeri, unless you would rather walk."

Detesting waddling after her charge, Aseeri abandoned her ranting about 'ungrateful furballs' and fluttered to Dashira's shoulder, clicking her beak at one of Dashira's flakes. It was more affectionate than punishing, and with a chuckle, the lioness set off.

"Talk to you later, Reg?" Inati offered, allowing her brother the time alone he needed. Reg was always a solitary thinker, and she imagined he could use the time alone...

"See you back at the Den, Ina!" He called back as he vanished behind some underbrush. He closed his eyes then and picked up his pace. Within a few moments, he was running toward the sound of the river. He knew this land was flat and should have nothing to get in his way but still he worried. He dropped back down to a walk when his paws hit the mud and he worked his was toward the bank slowly. "Maybe this won't be so bad." He contemplated as he waded across the river to the other side. There should be a outcropping somewhere close-- ow... He knocked his head into something solid. He climbed up onto somewort of tree and laid down, listening to the water. He let the fixed grin slid from his face, fairly certain that there was no one else around. I wonder what will happen to me now... He thought, closing his eyes.

Noting that Regius was resting on a tree on her Pride's side of the river, Dashira smiled. She swam across the river and gave a gentle shake, trying to free some of the water and not dislodge Aseeri.
"Take care, Prince Regius." She called, and headed for her Pride's den.

Aseeri gave a flick of her tailfeathers, as they had gotten wet in the crossing, and chirruped a farewell to the Prince. "Be safe, Young Prince.."

"Travel safely, Princess Dashira. These lands are dangerous for the unwary." He called in reply, mouth twisted in a dark smile. He shifted on the branch to get comfortable and to avoid the twig digging into his side. With a sigh, he gazed sightlessly off into the distance. He let his thoughts drift to his family. What must they think of him now, crippled by such a silly thing? He growled softly at himself. My mother and my sister do not think less of me, stupid. He chided himself. But... what about the rest of my family? He let his thoughts drift to his gray half-sibling. What thoughts will lay behind your eyes when you hear of me, little one?

Laying in the curl of her mother's warm body, Alaula's ears perked. She heard, but didn't exactly hear her half brother. He was thinking of her, to her.
'Bro-thur?' She inquired, blinking to herself. Her sister was asleep behind the fan of her tailfeathers, brothers curled on her mother's other side, and both parents engaged in conversation. Creeping away from her mother, she moved toward the back of the cave, easily dissappearing in the faint light.

Regius closed his eyes again, shifting on the branch again. He was finally comfortable for a moment before he began to slide. Scrabling to stay on the branch, he dug his claws into it but the bark was old and gave way, sending him spilling into the river. He surfaced with a curse and made his way to the opposite bank, flopping down into a patch of grass.

Alu closed her eyes and concentrated. 'Brother?' She asked again.

Natalia curled her tailfeathers over her face, ignoring the loss of her sister as she was deeply wound in her dreams. She was chasing a mouse, and it was talking to her, training her to be what she wanted. She was older, nearly a teen, and fit. She purred at the dream, and knew one day it would come true..

Reguis heard a sound drifting on the air and turned his head in that direction, not knowing that it lead back to his fathers den. Lifting himself from the ground, he began a slow walk, following what he thought was the sound of one of his sisters calling for him. It echoed around in his head as he topped a rise. He walked for a few more paces before he realized that it wasn't a sound he was hearing. Reg stopped suddenly, sightless eyes wide with confusion. HE concentrated hard on his little half sister. Can you hear me, little one? He let the thought drift on the night air.

((Lat: Changed my mind, he can send and receive thoughts, kay))

((Brel: Make up your mind woman! *rawr!* LOL.. Ok.. That's fine.. ^.^))

About to give it up, thinking she had imagined it all, Alu nearly toppled over when her brother's throughts rolled through her mind again.
Well of course she could hear him! He was as loud as her mother's heartbeat had once been to her sensitive ears!
Yes. She thought simply. But How?

Natalia stirred once again in her sleep, troubled by dreams of a distant dark lioness who would threaten her superiority. She gave a soft hiss and sank further behind her mask of tailfeathers, rumbling in displeasure. 'I shall be the best... No other...'

Enraged at her son's wounding, Venati stalked across the Pride Lands. She could smell where Talcorin was, and pinned her ears, angling for him. He was ignoring his first litter of cubs to dote on his second, and because of that his eldest son was now blind.
Needless to say, the Spirit Angel was not pleased.

Talcorin strode away from the Den, content that Illitashia and his new kits would be safe within the Pride Lands. He paced back into the open with his regal head high, chest swelling with Pride.
And was promptly confronted by an angry mother.

Catching sight of him, she lost her temper. She stalked right up to Talcorin, tail lashing and fangs bared.
"A thousand times the fool am I for thinking you would be a decent sire!" She fairly roared, aiming a strike at his cheek with her right forepaw. "They are your children, as same as those kits!"

Her paw landed with a smart slap against his left cheek, stunning him almost as much as her words had. He gave a shake of his head, and then stopped as he felt slightly dizzy. She had more strength than he had realized.
"What on earth are you talking about Venati?" He asked, completely baffled.

Her eyes narrowed and were suddenly cold. "Some Angel... You don't even know."
She growled and paced a little ways away, disgust plain in her face. "Your own son is wounded, for life, and you don't even know.."
She shook her head. "Do not expect me to linger here..."
And with that, she paced away.

Alu's thoughts drifted back to him and he made a small sound, something between a laugh and a sob. What a gift this is, little sister. He thought. Fate has taken my sight, but given me this... He moved forward with something close to confidence until the soft undercover brushed his face. He was outside the den. He must have been closer then he thought. A frown appeared, marring the joy in his eyes for a moment. He should not have been here yet. Come out and see me, little one. He sent into the den.

Alu glanced at her sleeping family, and then grinned. Come out of the Den? Why not? It would be easy enough. Grinning at her sister as she passed, the little grey princess trotted past and out of the den, blinking at the light.
'Ok.' She thought softly, glancing around for the black-coated figure she remembered. 'Where, where are you, brother?'

Following the sound of his half sisters voice, he rounded a corner, making a mental note to tell Illitashia that there was a second enterance to her den, if she did not know it already. He caught the scent of his sister close so he stopped, not wanted to trip over her. "Hello, little one. I am here." He sat back, waiting for Alu to approach, if she wished.
