Aye, you're right, there are some people who can just crank out the craziest looking guns and cars and mechas and everything, but have a really tough time with people.. and there are those who focus more in figures. i guess there are also the people who always draw animals.. mm. however, i don't think it's impossible to be good at both (or all three), but.. i think the focused skill comes from the preferences of the artist. the machinery-drawing-person likes cars and guns and robots and things, so that's what he draws, and that's what he gets good at, and then since he's so much better at drawing those things than people, that's what he sticks with.
bothers me though, that i'm mostly only good at drawing people. makes me feel kinda like a one trick pony. D: though at least i draw a variety of people, and not just, say... fairies.. *cough*amybrown*cough* ninja

I don't think it's impossible to be good at all three, I just don't usually see it. My friend draws really ******** awesome monsters and machinery and stuff, and he draws decent people, but you can tell he really excels in drawing monsters.
I've known people that could do really realistic drawings of cars, and really wonderfully designed mecha down to the specs and gears, but people just always looked angular and off center.
But hey, do what you love and love what you do. You draw figures really well, so there is always that at least. I guess it's all about the style, really.

Giftart for Reddy's birthday. Photobucket shrunk it a little though, blah. Thought it was ok for the first time I've really drawn for someone. I can't color. S:  I think my favorite part was the signature. XD

It's weird for me to stare at it, because it doesn't look like the picture I colored since I magnify everything so much.
Anyway, it was just a quick color. Nothing too special.
And yeah, you can always count on Reddy to make a mess when she sees things.
