The Ruler lunged forth again, the Doctor blocked and pushed his blade aside, swiping down towards the Ruler. The Ruler rolled out of the way with a chuckle.
It was fun, fighting himself. It was something so many people dont ever get to do, and something like a laugh came out. It was fun, it was fun, like running away from Cybermen and stopping Daleks were fun.
The Doctor backed and turned and held his blade up in a stance. The Ruler stood and smiled.
"I really wish you'd all stop calling me insane." He said.
"Well stop being insane, then!" The Doctor grinned.
"I do have an advantage, Doctor. I know what kind of man you are, you however, don't know too much about me, despite the circumstances."
"I think I have a concept of what you are."
"Well...I remember being you. I remember..." He looked up as if he were remembering something very distant. "I remember becoming human with Martha. I remember...that lovely woman I loved...I remember being John Smith."
The Ruler smiled at The Doctor's fury.
"I remember telling Martha a peculiar thing about me."
At that moment the Ruler reached into his pockets and pulled out a pear. A horribly ripe, wickedly delicious looking pear. It eerily shined in the light, and it's green skin showed it was just ready for consumption.
The Doctor gasped at the sight of it.
"I remember hating, absolutely hating pears." The Ruler said taking a bite into it. "Funny I can't get enough of them now!" He laughed. "Wanna try?"
"No, no n-" The Doctor said.
The Ruler threw it at his face, and the terrible juices slid on his face, it was enough to make him keel over in disgust.
And the Ruler lifted his sword to strike him down.

"NO!!" shouted Susan as she lunged forward to put herself between the Ruler and the Doctor. The Doctor was her Grandfather, and she had left her Grandfather back on Gallifrey. She believed she had left him to die. Susan was not about to do that again. Instead, she did what she should have done. She ran to his defense. When she had nothing to defend herself.
OOC: Somehow I knew it was going to come to this. Start the sad music.

When Sam saw what was happening, he forgot Sorvad's desperate attempts to say... something... and moved quickly over to the Ruler. His opaque blue blade was coming down, it was almost like slow motion, when defenseless Susan jumped in front of the caught-off-guard Doctor.
Susan shut her eyes, tight, waiting for the blow that would never come. The Doctor, coming out of his shock from the pear, was getting ready to push her out of the way. But Sam got there first, and pushed the Ruler, just enough to cause him to stumble sideways and turn towards him with angry eyes.
"ARGH!" He turned towards Susan and the Doctor again, but the Doctor was already up on his feet, still shaking from the encounter with the pear. The Doctor lunged just as Sorvad shouted "EXTERMINATE!!"
"That was noble of you." Said Sam, to Susan. "But I don't think dying would be a good idea right now. Why is Sorvad shouting?"

Susan was glad that her second life didn't come to it's end. Just when she was about to tell Sam about regeneration, it was brought to their attention about Sorvad.
Susan turned to look at him. "I thought we took care of that!"

She didn't have her wrench, that was the most unfortunate thing. She saw it an arm's reach away, but Sorvad with a trickle of blood going down his forehead was staring at her with his one furious eye.
"I hate this." Eddie sighed.
Then she jumped up onto the console as Sorvad started reaching for her. She screamed slightly climbing up the console as the Dalek Hybrid followed.

Sorvad pursued Eddie in a blind rage. Exterminate! You are inferior! You must be wiped off the face of this universe. I am a Dalek! I am the superior species!"
The wrinkles in Sorvad's brain began to glow bright red, and the veins in his skin also began to glow neon red.
Eddie outmaneuvered him as she climbed up the console.
He turned his attention to the Ruler and a maniacal grin appeared on his mouth.
Sorvad extended his tentacle arm, snatching up the Ruler, and slam ming him into the wall, then again on the ground.
He wrapped his tentacle around the Ruler's neck and started to choke him.
"You are not fit enough to rule this universe. Once your kind is exterminated nothing will stand in my way! The Daleks will rise again!"

The Doctor started running at Sorvad.
"NO!! Sorvad!!! Remember who you are, you are also human too!!"
Sam looked at the Doctor, then looked at Sorvad. He ran up behind Sorvad and hit him squarely in the brain. It went squish.
Sorvad dropped the Ruler and wobbled around. He spotted Irene, and ran at her.
Without realizing what she was doing, she ran straight at him too, flapping her arms and growling.

"Irene you god damn One-Heart!" Eddie was yelling.
Sorvad with his tentacle grabbed a piece of sharp metal discarded by Eddie on the floor. He raised it up as he ran at the human girl.
"IRENE!" The Ruler yelled.
The Ruler pushed the Doctor out of his way as he ran and grabbed Irene midway in her path. He grabbed her in what would have looked like a desperate hug, and Sorvad screamed and stabbed the Ruler in the back.
"Urgh." The Ruler gave out a slight scream.
"NO!" The Doctor was yelling.
"Someone FIX THE DALEK!" Eddie screamed.
Sorvad pulled his spear out of the Ruler, who began to fall over onto Irene.
"Ruler!" Irene screamed as he went down with a thud.
He looked up at her.
"You stupid girl." He muttered with a smile. "Couldn't let you die like that now could I?"
No, he couldn't.
And for a moment everyone there saw the Doctor in the Ruler again. Especially as he smiled, appropriately dying. He turned to his back, with a stabbing pain and laughed at himself.
"Oh well." He said. "Oh well."

Sorvad looked at the dieing ruler before him and frowned bitterly. He raised the spear and stabbed through him once more, pinning him through the floor.
"Disgusting creatures."
His glowing red veins pulsating; beneath his thin skin, began to fade, and Sorvad returned to his former self. His tentacles collapsed beneath him and he fell to the floor, limp.

Susan looked at the Ruler with some hope that he would come to his senses. But also concern about the fact that the programing was not completely taken apart out of Sorvad. She turned to Eddie and asked, "Is the machine stopped?"

Eddie jumped down slowly to the console. She couldn't take her eyes off the Ruler for a moment as everyone just stood around. She looked over at the console, she grabbed her wrench and slammed it into the console.
She pryed open the console to a dim glowing light and she looked up.
"He's dying, the TARDIS will die, it'll all stop working." Eddie said.
"Heh." The Ruler coughed out a laugh.
Eddie didn't move from where she stood but she peered over at the Ruler.
"It was...understandable, Ruler." Eddie told him.
He looked up and smiled.
"Thank you, young lady." He said.

Susan looked at Eddie and back at the Ruler with a puzzled expression. "What do you mean? All he needs to do is regenerate and he'll be fine... Right? It was only a spear."

"No, sweetheart." The Ruler coughed. "I didn't really mention...I'm on the thirteenth regeneration..." He smiled. "Went through the other two getting to the Master."

Sorvad lays on the floor, his eyes blink open and he picks himself up.
"Did someone just poke my brain?"

Irene wasn't quite sure what regeneration meant, but the Ruler just saved her life. He was on the floor, coughing slightly, getting paler by the minute. His wounds were bleeding a lot.
Irene knelt in the pool of blood, looking at him.
"You saved my life." She wasn't sure why he did it, perhaps she will never know.
She reached out and touched the tip of his nose. He looked at her.
"Tom. Was it Tom? You look like a Tom."
She was too shocked to cry at the moment.

Sam snuck up behind Sorvad, when he got close, he grabbed the hybrid's arms and bound his wrists behind his back.
"We don't want you going crazy again. You almost killed my friend. You almost killed her, and instead you killed the Ruler. You should be fixed."
Sam was trying not to shake too much from the shock of seeing someone die, considering the fact that the spear narrowly missed one of his best friends.
