This is the first time I've ever changed my username on Gaia, and I have been on this site for 5 years and 10 months. I technically didn't change my username when it comes to sending PMs, trades, gifts, etc. It just has a couple of letters now. But, I did heed your warning and change my sig so people will know that I didn't get hacked.
As for updates... sweatdrop Well, apparently the plot STILL hasn't been posted yet. The last thing I heard was posted in the plot committee thread a couple days ago. But, after browsing some other rooms and their "to do" lists, I realized that we also need to come up with a good set of room rule. I had forgotten that one somehow, but it's very important to the running of each room. These should definitely make the list:
1) No trolling
2) No spamming
3) No flaming
4) Absolutely NO god-modding (rules 5-8 explain this idea)
5) Do NOT make your character all powerful
6) Do NOT change someone else's character. You may do something to them, and then they will decide how it affects their character. So, you can't just turn someone into a frog because you feel like it.
7) You may NOT make anyone else's character do something.
cool You may NOT kill off another person's character
9) Please do not whine and cry if the story is not focusing around you. Work your way into the story, but please remember that this room has a plot, so we are not going to change it into a vampire romance simply because you feel like it or because you don't feel like you are getting enough attention.
10) Please follow the ToS and keep this room PG-13 or below.
Okay, maybe the wording could be changed so it sounds a bit nicer. sweatdrop We just had a bit of trouble in my room last year with god-modding and attention-whores. There were people who didn't know what god-modding was, so they kept wrecking the plot. There were also a couple of whiners who tried to turn the story into a vampire romance/tragedy. xp Yes, it's important to have the guests as part of the story, but it gets pretty irksome when they try to change the plot and theme. sweatdrop

A thought just occured to me as I was reading through the room rules...
Are we making a seperate guild for our ball or are all of the interactions and what not going to be contained within this one? I'm sure making a Guild would kind of deter from the general idea of this being one big Ballroom Bash with different "rooms" or whatever you wanna call the sins/virtues individual events...If you need a Guild to use I have one. I tried to make an rp/art guild about a year ago and its dead and unused I'll clean it out and we can post some things in it if you wanna go that route?
I'll clean it out and send everyone here links also...I wish I knew how to imbed a website into an image or make a banner. Also I just wanted to say that even though this is taking a while waiting on the plot I am SO looking forward to all of this. I really am glad to be a part of this function and so lets all not get discouraged and try to be patient...
(Am I talking to myself a little, here? Yes...yes I am.)

The actual ball is held in our own forums, but we can use a planning guild for this room if we really wanted to.
About 50% done with the plot, just gotta add in some twists and chaos...

About 50% done with the plot, just gotta add in some twists and chaos... Yay for chaotic goodness! With this plot are we going to be assigned roles to play? Or is that up to us within limits? So excited I'm chewing on my sketchpad... Yeah here's a link to the barren guild I have InK's dead guild to be used for whatever purposes you all see fit!

I can either manage it myself or give to one of the others...It has 5000+ moneys for post making and what not...
It just died horribly- I had really bad members who didn't know how to role-play well and it was all one lined responses...So the guild never took off and I felt it was really a shame. But gald to give to y'all for this function no qualms or anything! heart

Thanks for the guild donation! biggrin I'm sorry that your RP guild didn't make it very far, but at least it will be put to good use!
Planning guilds are good for organizing the room layouts and stuff. I don't know about the other rooms, but The Celebration room had it's games located in a guild. There were links to the games on the 1st page of the room. It really seemed to work well having them there. The random number game I made had more pages of game play than the Celebration room had of roleplaying posts. Most of the posts in the game were just emoticons or bumps, and I would much rather have that in a separate thread than have it in the room where the roleplaying is going on. Spam in the middle of roleplaying is kind of bad. xp We were also able to hide the riddles in the guild before they were brought out for the riddle contest. It makes it easy to organize things, so I'm all for using a planning guild when we start getting into the complex stuff.
As for the characters, we'll have to wait and see how the plot goes. It will determine how much we can branch out with character types. But, we will definitely be making our characters well in advance. The guests will pretty much be themselves as far as characterization goes, but they will still be acting.
@Moo - I thought the plot was done. Is the plot committee making a few changes now?

@Ink: That's great! Thanks for that unique donation. I'm glad to see you so enthusiastic about all this. =D
Hmm, I'm anxiously awaiting the plot...and getting more and more excited about working on our own plot.

I changed my username last night because I've been meaning to do it for a long time, and I finally got around to doing it. I wanted my username to be clearer so I wouldn't have to explain it to every new person I meet. It all kind of ran together before, but now everyone knows that I'm named after Chibiusa! xd (She's a character from Sailor Moon just in case someone didn't know that. But, I'm pretty sure that 90% of the people on this site know that already.)
I'm getting anxious about the plot too. It's fun getting to play a bigger role in organizing things. But, just in case I ever seem to get carried away, you have my permission to whack me back to reality with a baseball bat. blaugh

@ Chibi: Once you or Crystal send in the join request and I accept it I can then hand over its custody to you! I tried to just do it now and it says you hav to be a member of the Guild in order for it to be turned over into your hands...so....

The plot has finally been posted in the plot committee thread. It isn't finished, and there are definitely some flaws to be worked out. As it stands, each room will unlock at a different time. This could be potentially problematic, but the plot is not set in stone yet. I put in a suggestion to keep the tier idea working, but allow the rooms to all open at once. I hope they like my idea. I'm also unsure about how the co-hosts will work within this framework. It seems like it could go in many directions. I'm thinking that we will need to decide on something uniform for the rooms. Some are planning on making the co-hosts regular humans, and some are planning on making the co-hosts correlating personifications of sins and virtues. For example, Sloth could have Sleepiness, Laziness, and Apathy as underlings.

Oooh hey thats a cool idea having little underlings for sloth and zeal... That would make interesting role-play...
Sloth: Go forth my minions and ruin the ball and its participants so that we may um- um.... Huh? You know I never actually got that far...

I just logged on, and went to the guilds page as usual, and I was shocked to see that I am suddenly the captain of your old guild! eek rofl Do I have your permission to start messing with everything? Do you want anything saved? I'm thinking that after we have all of the planning done, we can archive the planning threads and set them to crew so the guests won't see them, and then put the games in the guild.
Is your head spinning from the plot? I'm not too happy with the way it is right now either. Considering that the ball is only three days long (Monday morning doesn't really count because no one is on Gaia that early in the morning), starting some of the rooms late could be disastrous. What I'm really hoping to see is another meebo meeting so we can get this done in a couple hours instead of a couple weeks. There are a few things that everyone needs on the same page with, including the types of co-hosts that we will have.
I don't usually snort when laughing, but my face really does look very similar to this emoticon: xd Yeah... my eyes actually close. I'm wondering if that's a side-effect from all those years of watching anime. It's too bad that I can't get a really life sweat drop too. sweatdrop
