Regretful for his own past and hopeful in helping her through hers he stuck around. It seemed the Deities had opinions because the two ended up with surprise children: Carmelita and Maribel. Barbas decided to raise his kids with Aracelis, succumbing to his feelings of affection for Ara. He decided from there he would try and prove his worth to Aracelis and hopefully earn her love. When the kids turned into adults he promised Aracelis he wouldn't leave her anytime soon. Aracelis ended up disappearing, leaving a confused Barbas. Hurt but hopeful, Barbas wondered if this was his punishment for abandoning Amaterasu. He waited by Aracelis' den. Barbas just stopped returning to his den, unable to continue believing Aracelis would return. It felt like denial, and Barbas wasn't going to succumb to it. He moved into the mountains, digging out a den where he'd hoard trinkets.

Nessus - 'A centaur slain by Hercules'
Often in a bad mood, Nessus is a pessimistic worrywart, constantly irritable due to his own anxiety. He can be foul mouthed and abrasive on the wrong day, often cranky for no other reason than himself. He tries to keep it under check but Nessus is not the best with controlling his emotions, making him difficult to get along with at times.
On a good day Nessus is interested in understanding others, although incredibly awkward. He hasn't had the most chances to be social, leaving him clumsy with his words occasionally. He's pretty agreeable when he isn't sulking, often ready to lend a paw or hear someone's tale.
He also can be morbid, finding the worst possible outcome with any situation ( "What if we died? What if they ate us?" )

Chimera does not have faith in her own abilities and talents, convinced she's just not good enough or smart enough.
