Tolara nodded, covering another yawn. "I think Wrath should ask, Glith is currently sleeping the day away." As I want to do as well, she mused to herself. Deliver the message, sleep and then home.

A decisive nod sealed her plan and she smile pleasantly at Rayinte.

Kara had just began to rub Rivath with some sweetsand when the colorless dragon spoted Faramith. Rivath reared out of the water and bugled to the bronze, in the process soaking Kara with cold lake water.
"RIVATH!"

Faramith roared in response to Rivath's bugle.
A'nash started to laugh as he saw that Rivath soaked Kara, he almost fell off because of it. then Faramith made a big dive to the ground, and just before they would hit the ground, Faramith pulled up.
A'nash jumped of Faramith's back and walked towards Kara.
He laughed " Having a nice time ?? "

Niko sit's up from her bed in the dragonet's weyr, rubbing sleep away from her eyes. Gyomanth...? She send's a little thread of thought out, looking for her blue.

Here, rider-mine. Gyomanth says from down by the water area.

Niko smiles. Alright then, I'll just go to the dining hall and get something to eat, and then come down and give you a bath. She grins again as she heads out of the little weyr and starts walking towards the dining area.

Mine, some of the dragonets wish to be bathed and oiled but the young ones don't know how

"thank you dear i will find Rayi and inform her of the need for a lesson, in the mean time tell the dragonets to gather with their riders at the lake. we can begin the lesson and Rayi can come when she is ready"

yes mine......the dragonets have been told. shall i go to the lake?

"yes love, i will need you to show them how to bath. it's an easy enough lesson i don't think Rayi will mind us starting it off"

I will see you at the lake mine

the large bronze took off form his sunning ledge and headed down to the lake surprised to see the wyreleader and his dragon as well as a colorless dragon he had not met yet. he bugled his arival and a formal greeting to the senior riders as he touched down on the sandy bank of the lake.

T'thia started her search for the wyrewomen before she smaked herself in the head

"i can get Riz to tell Rayi's gold duh" "love tell Wrath(hopes she got the right dragon) to inform Rayi we are going to start the bathing and oiling lesson."

Arizath did as he was told and informed his rider when he was done. T'thia then went to the lower cavernes and grabed several large pots of oil, the scrubing brushes, sweet sand, and oil rags before heading to the lake and placing them in sets on the bank. one set for each wyreling. she greeted the two senior riders at the lake with a beaming smile and a small bow of respect then waited for the wyrelings to show up for their lesson.

((sorry Rayi but i know the wyrelings are itching for a lesson, and it is an easy class. Wyrelings please come to the Lake for your lesson thank you ^_^ ))

Mine, I am hungry and I begin to itch. I do not mean to disturb you, but...

No, it's no problem Famyroth. R'nek pulls himself up from where he was lying, head resting against his brown's warm hide. He sighed and stood. Come on 'Roth, let's get you something to eat. Then maybe we'll walk up to the lake, it should be nicely cool... it's a beautiful day today.

Yes ridermine... it is. Oh... Famyroth paused a moment. We should gather at the lake for a lesson anyway; you will learn to bathe me I believe. Famyroth stands, shaking himself free of the sand clinging to his scaly hide. The two stand there for a moment, appreciating the view of the sun just behind the trees behind the Weyr, then walk forward in tandem, heading towards the kitchens.

"You, food provider, theres to be a lesson at the lake."

::Gives the dragonette a Look:: "Food provider? You best be polite, or you might just get a bit hungery. It is a looong way to the kitchens"

::Looks shocked:: "Not feed me? You wouldn't.

::Trying to keep a straight face:: "Why don't we go down to the lake for that lesson. Did the dragon who told you say to bring anything?"

::Still worried:: No.

This is going to be an interesting time..........I hope the food bribery keeps working. ::Myyth thought as she picked up the tiny dragon and started to walk down to the lake::

"Wait why I'm I the one carrying you Spirith? You have legs."

"You have legs, and bigger than mine."

Do I even want to dispute that?::She wondered:: eh, not right now.

"Your going to be too big to carry very soon. "

::Looks very smug:: Untill then.......

There's going to be a lesson over by the lake today, Aireth mentioned as she accepted another bite of meat. "A lesson? Do you know what kind of lesson it's supposed to be?" Feather asked as she continued feeding the green. Something on how to give me a proper bath and oil my hide, the dragon said after a moment. Why do you need to learn how to do that? Feather laughed. "So that you won't get dirty, and don't end up with a patchy hide. Really, do you want to go around itchy and mud spattered all the time?" The green stopped eating long enough to carefully examine her left side, then her right. I am not mud spattered now, nor do I itch. "You will if I don't bathe and oil you regularly." Oh! She daintily took another bite from Feather's hand and chewed.

Ray's eyes go vacant a moment as she communicates with Wrath. After a moment the dragon replies. I have spoken with Netesath. I will come to the shore now, the Weyrlings want their bathing lesson. Arizath has gathered them.

The girl refocuses on Fort's Weyrwoman. "Wrath said she spoke with Netesath, but didn't elaborate or say if she got a response. I have to go meet my Weyrlings now, or the class will start without me!"

((I pm'ed Lunadragoneclipse, I'll let you know if the message gets read.))

((sorry Rayi, but i figured you would post before all the wyrelings gathered he he sweatdrop ))

T'thia watched as a few of the wyrelings gathered a couple of the dragons showing the dire need of the lesson. Arizath had already waded into the water after sunning for so long the cool water felt excelent against his hide.

Wrath's comes to join mine

"thank you Arizath we'll start shortley when she arives and the wyrelings have gathered. i hope they aren't wearing any good clothing, they will get wet and oil stained. i learned that the hard way with my first lesson"

i remember, you still never wear that shirt

"that's because it'ss become one of your oil rags Riz."

T'thia gave a small chuckle as he dragon gave a draconic laugh and dunked his head in the water.

((Weyrings: I'm going to assume you've all arrived; I'm not waiting to post it because I really want to get this out of the way or I'll forget. If you haven't "arrived" yet, please include arriving on time in your post, and then listening to my dorky speech. It's good that you, as the RP'er, know these things, but it's important that your character doesn't magically "know" things they haven't actually been told.))

Ray trots up to the group, arriving a bit out of breath. "Good morning," she manages. "I trust all of your dragonets have eaten their morning meals?" she asks. She berates herself again for not having given some basic instructions to the Weyrlings last night. This class had to be brought up with some discipline, unlike the previous classes, or their training could be incomplete on some crucial points.

"Before we begin on the Bathing and Oiling Lesson, I have some introductory remarks to make to all of you. You are now Dragonriders. This means that first and foremost, your dragon is your priority. Without dragons, we could not survive on Pern, and every dragon--no matter the color--is important to the Weyr.

"Pay attention your dragon's complaints. A complaint indicates something is not right, and if you can't figure out the cause of the complaint, immediately find me, tell your dragon speak to Wrath to find me, or if I am not available, beg assistance from any senior rider not on duty.

"Also keep an eye on your dragon's color. A healthy dragon's hide is vibrant, a rich lovely shade of its normal hue. When they are hungry, exhausted, seriously injured, or otherwise unhealthy, their color will fade. The kind of fading depends partly on the color and partly on the problem; a very hungry dragon will be noticably paler than usual. An injured or exhausted dragon will begin to look gray. Those of you with greens," Ray omits golds, as there are none in this group, "will have to take extra precautions when they reach sexual maturity. A dragon about to rise will be exceptionally bright, nearly glowing, and might cause her rider to be short-tempered and tense for a day or so leading up to the event.

"Your dragon's eyes not only indicate their mood but can also help indicate their health. When their eyes are fully open--Wrath, please demonstrate," Ray gestured for her queen, and Wrath moved her large head next to her rider, lifting her transparent inner lid to show her eye, open to the air. "Healthy dragon eyes are like glowing jewels, no matter what color. The whirring motion indicates the intensity of whatever mood they're in. As you can see, Wrath is fairly pleased with herself at the moment, as her eyes are vividly green and whirling at a steady pace. You can close up now dear," Wrath snorted and closed her inner lids again, pulling her head back.

"And now to the slightly unpleasant stuff," Ray grimaces. "Your dragons can not go between yet to deficate. That means that very soon, they will have to produce waste from their hefty meals last night. Judging from their looks, this will be sooner than you might think. A dragon deficates from the hole between the forked ends of its tail. The poop is stored in the tail until it is time to release it, and you can tell when a dragon must poop when the tail looks bloated."

She gestured at the tiniest green, Spirith. "As you can see, Spirith here really has to be going soon. Dragons, however, are even more tidy than felines, as they instinctively want to go between to relieve themselves. Seeing as your dragonets cannot do that yet, we have to show them the appropriate place for them to take care of such business. So, if you'll follow me, we can relieve the poor dears before the swim."

Ray walks between the weyrlings, headed toward the firestone pit. Wrath, Ray says to her dragon. Ask Arizath if T'thia has assembled the brushes for the bathing, and the cloths and oilpots for the oiling. If not, she should run to the stores and get them while we're taking our bathroom break.

Good idea.

Speaking over her shoulder to the Weyrlings trailing after her, Ray continues. "From now on, when we meet here, be sure your dragon has emptied itself beforehand. The most convenient places to do so are at the Firestone pit, and while the dragonets are still small enough, at the latrine pit near the Weyrling barracks. As they only have one meal to remove, your dragons shouldn't have much discomfort in their tails. While they're still eating three meals a day, please make sure that they deficate at least once a day, preferably in the morning, and if they cannot, please be sure to contact me."

Finally they arrived at the stinking pit, and Ray stood by while the Weyrlings led their dragons up to the pit to relieve themselves, then she led them back to the lake.

"About all you guys need to know about dragon bathing is that the dragon goes into the water. You take one of the brushes and scrub them with soapsand until they are clean. Then they'll swim around for a while until they're done. When they come up to the beach, I'll continue with the oiling lessons."

T'thia was pleased when Arizath told her of the request for the brushes and other tools for she ahd already gathered them and placed them in sets for the wyrelings. when the wyrelings returned for the lesson and Rayi had finished speaking T'thia gestured to the row of bathing sets

"there's one for each wyreling please take a brush and wade into the water, and one more thing, you will get wet, and you will get dirty. this lesson is not the cleanest so don't complain if your dragon splashes you 'till you're soaked, they tend to do that"

as if demenstrating Arizath extened his wings and washed a wave of cold water over his rider. the girl shook her short hair she had recentley cut forflieing convenience.

"thank you Arizath, you have successfully demonstrated how childish a dragon can be even when nearly full grown"

T'thia turned and grined at the wyrelings before motioning them to enter the lake with their dragons as she herself waded out of the water

"be sure they also get a chance to swim not just bath"

she took up a dry cloth and did her best to dry off while Arizath proceeded to enjoy the cool water with the dragonets. he semaed to be keeping a watching eye on them like a lifeguard of some sorts.

Aronash
Faramith roared in response to Rivath's bugle.
A'nash started to laugh as he saw that Rivath soaked Kara, he almost fell off because of it. then Faramith made a big dive to the ground, and just before they would hit the ground, Faramith pulled up.
A'nash jumped of Faramith's back and walked towards Kara.
He laughed " Having a nice time ?? "

Kara glares at Rivath, "not exactly, the water is cold"

Kyamakin

Hey Kya, Nakoreth's voice sounded curious. Kya! Wake up!

K'makin grumbled and rolled over. I know you didn't drink last night. Even the riders with hangovers are up by now. Or did you forget we have sweepriding duty today?

Grumbling some more, Kya sat up, pushing aside his sleeping furs. "No, I didn't drink, but after most everyone else passed out, I stayed up gossiping with the Mastersmith about that project he's working on, for a modified flamethrower nozzle." He yawned and managed to find his riding leathers. His hair was hopeless, and since Nakoreth tended to chew a bit of firestone while sweepriding for practice on the weeds on mountaintops, a bath would be wasted. They'd take one when they got back.

Hurry? We're supposed to meet Egonith over Frostpeak soon.

"We're flying the Frostpeak sweep?" Kya groaned and stripped off his the clothes he had put on so far, to put on a few more layers of clothing. Moving quickly, he was satisfied with his job of bundling up, and hurried out to meet Nakoreth on the ledge. Tossing only a light harness onto the brown, he buckled it, doublechecked it, then clambered up. "Swing by the Lower Caverns, so I can snag some breakfast and a pack for lunch." Nakoreth rumbled and glided down to the cavern mouth, Kya sliding off his shoulder almost before the brown had landed.

After pouring a scorching mug of klah down his throat and thanking one of the kitchen drudges for the sack of food, Kya ran back outside, fastened the sack to the light harness and buckled his helmet. Recalling the chill over Frostpeak, he wrapped his scarf around his face. Ready!

Nakoreth jumped into the air, and after a few strong wingbeats, went between to meet Egonith and his rider.
