"I'm sorry Sun, I try to understand, but I don't know how to treat someone in your situation." Emily sighed. "I try, but you know. You're going to end up like your dad if you don't rest and figure out a better way to help him because you can't be there all the time for him."  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"I know," Sunrise said wearily, picking at a fray in her size one jeans. She really did need to eat more. She stiffened, nearly bursting with the words that she had been holding in since her dad had gone ill.
"I feel like...like it's my fault this happened," she forced herself to whisper, her throat constricting as she said it.

"Why would it be your fault?" Emily looked at her friend bewildered, and then realization dawned on her. "You know, I used to think it was my fault my father was shot and killed."  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"It is my fault...I'm a witch for God's sake..." Sunrise whispered into her hands. "I mean, I got my letter from Hogwarts ten minutes...ten minutes...after my mum died. I could have done something t-t-to...to help him..."

Emily groaned. "Sunrise, you didn't know any magic. Think of my position. I had four years of training, and I couldn't save him. If any of us is to blame for our fathers trageties it's me."  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"There was still accidental magic," Sunrise snapped unexpectedly. "If I had done somthing differently...if I had maybe seen him break down...if I had cared more...I could have used accidental magic to fix his messed up brain," Sunrise added, her voice shaking as she spoke.

Emily groaned and tried to keep her patience. "Sunrise, you can't control what your accidental magic does. If you want it to happen, it won't happen, and there's nothing you can do about it."  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"I know...it's just hard," Sunrise said quietly, then smiled painfully. "It;s okay, let's just drop it, okay? I don't want to be sad right now."  

[LilyHermioneChapman]

"O.K." Emily got a mischievious smile in her eye. "Guess what. EXPELLIARMUS." She shouted the spell and ran."  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"OH, COME ON!" Sunrise cried exhasperatedly (but with a grin) as she ran for her fallen wand.

"It's what we're supposed to be practicing anyway." Emily grinning mockingly at Sunrise. "It's not my fault you let your guard down."

"Well I know! Expelliarmus!" Sunrise shouted gleefully.

Emily had been laughing so hard she hadn't expected to be attacked back. As the spell hit she was knocked back into her chair, and her wand flew off. "Nice Sun."

"Thank you Emily," Sunrise replied pleasantly as she laughed.

"You can't really expect me to stay sitting though can you?" Emily stood up again.
